I've been using Flow Power for a couple of months and already received my first bill (in credit). I already have a smart meter, so the bill included the price efficiency adjustment as expected.

I’ve now received an email saying a smart meter upgrade is scheduled in about a month. From what I understand, the main benefit of the upgrade is being able to see live price efficiency data, but since I already have a smart meter, I’m not sure the upgrade gives me much additional value.

My concern is that the email mentions I may be charged if there’s insufficient space, asbestos board, etc. I know my meter board contains asbestos, so there’s a good chance they could charge me. If this ends up costing hundreds of dollars, I’m not sure it’s worth it for the limited benefit, and I’d probably rather switch providers than pay for the upgrade (I do not have any signup bonus).

For people who upgraded from an existing smart meter:

• What actual benefits did you get?
• Is this upgrade mandatory to stay with Flow Power?
• Has anyone been charged extra because of asbestos boards or switchboard issues?

Is there an easy way to roughly estimate the cost of importing based on the base rate and actual price?

E.g for simplicity what would the rough cost of importing 1 kWh at a base rate at $33 c/ kWh and actual price (as indicated on app) $30 c / kWh?

Hi everyone, I signed up to flow yesterday app is all activated (waiting for their smart meter) how do I set my battery to export at peak times?

I saw this ad on my feed. Is anyone consistently getting $4900+ earnings each year with flow?

For context I've got a 15kw inverter that basically exports at 14kw per hour for the 2 hour export window.

I've checked on the app and everyday on average it says I'm exporting only 22kw in the peak export hours?

22kw = $9.9 earned I should be exporting around 28kw which is $12.6 earned

I set my inverter to export at 5.30pm - 7.30pm

Is my exports being clipped by half an hour or so? Anyone have any similar issues? I'm losing out on about $3 dollars per day worth of exports.

I'm in Melbourne with 7 kW solar, 40 kWh battery and an EV. Thinking about switching to Flow Power with Home Assistant to do some arbitrage, buy cheap from the grid at midday when spot prices are low, top up the battery, then sell back during the evening peak (happy hour).

The solar alone probably won't fill the battery on cloudy days (which Melbourne seems have plenty of), hence buying to make up the difference and also help charge my car!

Has anyone run the numbers on whether the buy/sell spread actually makes this worthwhile, or do the margins get eaten up too quickly?
