I’m an Indian MBBS student studying in Georgia, and my university/state requirement says we must complete a minimum of 54 months for the medicine degree.
I’m confused about what exactly this means:
- Does it mean we must be physically present in Georgia for a total of 54 months?
OR
- Does it simply mean that the MBBS course duration itself should span 54 months, regardless of vacations/travel outside the country?
I’ve taken normal university vacations and short trips abroad during my studies, and now I’m worried whether those days outside Georgia reduce the counted duration.
Has anyone from Georgian medical universities dealt with this before, especially for licensing/internship/FMGE/NMC purposes?
Would really appreciate clarification from someone who knows how this is actually calculated.
TL;DR: Does the 54-month MBBS requirement in Georgia mean 54 months of actual physical stay in the country, or just that the medical course duration must officially span 54 months? I’ve taken vacations/short trips abroad during MBBS and want to know if those days outside Georgia affect eligibility for NMC/FMGE.

Hey everyone,
My Marrow subscription just expired, and I only need it for about 1 more month for FMGE prep/revision.
If anyone has an active account with extra device slots or a subscription they’re no longer using, please DM me. I’m willing to pay a reasonable amount.
Thank You !
How reliable are GT scores?
If we are crossing 150+ in GT can we keep our calm and believe that we will clear this exam???

I recently heard from some of my final prof seniors that internship done in Bangladesh is not considered valid in Maharashtra, and they are gonna do it in India, and now I’m really confused.
From whatever I researched online, it says that internship from NMC-recognised colleges in Bangladesh should be valid in India. But I’m not able to find clear information specifically regarding Maharashtra registration.
I also don’t personally know anyone from Maharashtra who completed MBBS + internship in Bangladesh and then got registered there successfully.
Can someone please clarify this?
Has anybody from Maharashtra done their internship in Bangladesh and faced any issues during registration or licensing?
Would really appreciate any genuine guidance because this is stressing me out a lot 😭
