Couple of 14 panels

Made a couple of 14 panels yesterday. Black squares is filled with 53grams of steel 1.6mm shot and 7 grams of poly pellets. White squares is filled with 60 grams of steel 1.6mm shot. Like them both for different reasons. Have some more vintage ultrasuede clothing in different colors on the way to get some more variety.

Huge appreciation post

This is such a huge shoutout to G / Newyorkfootbag. This man has so much love and dedication to his craft and this community as a whole. Since the beginning of my journey in foot bag and now and stitching, he has been nothing but a wealth of resource and knowledge I cannot thank you for all you have taught me and introduced me to. Sean said it very well. You truly are one of the most important people in foot bag and it’s evolution currently between your incredible programming app and just all around desire to spread the knowledge of stitching with your incredible kits. I missed out on a blue bag. He had posted, but he reached out to me and made me one special at which point we went ahead and did a custom as well. CLASSY and Refined is the two words I must use when describing his bags. His dedication to his work shows in every stage panel and interaction. Please make sure to support G in New York foot bag whenever possible.

Zumiez selling counterfeit dirtbags now?

I don’t have a photo since the employee didn’t want photos but i saw a dirtbag in this bin that said on the tag “dirtbag footbag kick sack assorted”. already a red flag and then when I look at it, it’s so wonky. no yellow sticker of world footbag and the logo seems like it was resized. like world footbag stock is back, how can you guys still not stock it? anybody else noticed this?

Am I remembering wrong? Dirtbag filling

I'm 49 years old, and when I was in HS in the 90s, we'd all hang out at lunch in a hacky circle. Dirt Bags were the best - so easy to stall.

So flash forward 30 years, and I found one at a store, so I snapped it up and was really excited until I opened it up and found that the filling was a lot more coarse than I remember it being. OK, no problem. I'll order one from the official website. That one just came in the mail today, and it's got the same coarse sand as the one I bought at the store.

I swear I remember the filling being *really* fine sand. Almost powder fine, and it had some weight to it. Am I hallucinating or did something change over the last few decades? Do they offer anything like that now?

New sandmaster fail

I just bought this sandmaster from world footbag and it came in the mail on the 14th I played with it for the first time yesterday for about 30mins and a seam had already busted. I'm wondering if there's something I can do or someone I can talk to or anything like that

14 Panel Flower Bag

Been awhile since I’ve posted here but wanted to share a look at the crazy flower style 14 panel bag I made for @kirkuleez1212 - @hane.dane.footbag has inspired me to step out of the box and get more creative with some of my bags!

What makes a good beginner bag?

Specifically, what qualities make a bag good for beginners that are struggling with control and consistency? I’ve got a variety of bags across the full spectrum of quality and price. Manufactured and handmade. All different panel counts and fills. I’m trying to understand the characteristics that make one bag easier, more consistent for me at this point vs another. I do a lot of experimentation to figure out for myself, but curious what the conventional wisdom says.

First bag with ultrasuede

Been making bags from recycled corduroy for awhile, scored some vintage ultrasuede and ultrasuede light clothing on vinted. First bag made and can say I like working with this a lot more than the corduroy. Filled with 62g 1.6mm shot.

Nice mail call today…

Recently, I’ve added some high quality handmade bags to the rotation and not sure if it’s my imagination or unconscious bias knowing they are “high quality” but these bags just feel different. They feel better off the foot, seem more consistent and just feel great in the hand.

I grew up on the OG leather Hacky Sack and have some new manufactured bags that I really like, but someone please school me on what I’m feeling as different.
