Verizon Fios Wifi Y/N?
Hi all, does anyone have Verizon Fios wifi in the neighborhood? I'm thinking of making the switch, but they didn't service the area for a long time so would love to hear people's experience with them now. Thanks!

I found a sweet puppy during the 4th fireworks. It was spooked and sacred.
It doesn’t have a collar or phone number. The vet couldn’t find a chip, so cant contact the owner.
Its a male doodle, 1-2 years old. super sweet
message me for details
Do you think you will be able to see the main nyc 4th of July fireworks from anywhere within the park?
Hey y’all! I’m thinking of taking a few photos of fort greene basketball court at like 6am on a tuesday. Curious what the vibes are at that time? Are there people chilling there at that time or is it generally p quiet at that time on weekdays?
Hey all — moved further east from DTBK to Clinton Hill a month ago. Where do people like to “wfh” in a 3rd place, i.e., Laptop-friendly coffee shops around Clinton Hill and Fort Greene with nice vibes and solid wifi? I used to work all the time in the Ace Hotel and at Devocion. Even though DTBK is only 15 minutes away from my new area, I'm still getting acquainted with the "micro neighborhood" for my daytime haunts! TIA!
I'm putting together a list of bars/venues that host a weekly (or at least semi-regular) open craft night for this hobby-centric newsletter, and before I drive myself crazy looking at the calendars of every venue out there, hoping crowdsourcing here might help!
(Note: I have no affiliation with any of these businesses, paid or otherwise)
Do you know of any others to add to this list? Thanks in advance!!
So far I have:
Found Cat on Fort Greene Pl.
Seems like a house cat but no tags. Obviously please reach out if you're looking for them.
Hi! I'll be moving to Fort Greene area and I'd love recommendations on vets offices, boarding places and daycares. Ideally with cameras in boarding/daycares. Oh also, vet ERs. The important things you need to have to be safe even if you don't need them immediately. Don't have to be in Fort Greene but ideally close.
Hi, I got hit by a car today on the Fort Greene Place/Fulton St intersection. Was in quite a lot of pain and someone was so kind to walk me to the hospital. My collarbone turned out to be broken and my bike is pretty much destroyed as well.
The driver did stop for a bit, trying to argue with me that I was in the wrong, while I went straight down Fulton and she took a right.
In all the chaos I forgot to note down any details from the driver, which are going to be quite important for the insurance.
Any tips/leads from people that saw this happen and might know more about the car/driver are very much appreciated!
Happened around 8.10-15 AM.
Found Wednesday morning. These yours? If so, reach out.
I'm due with my first baby in Feb 2027 and was wondering if there are any other birthing parents in Fort Greene, Prospect Heights, or nearby who are expecting around the same time.
I know there are a lot of big whatsapp and facebook groups, but I'd love to start a small group where we can connect throughout pregnancy and beyond. I was thinking it could be a space to:
If you're a birthing parent due in 2027 and this sounds like something you'd enjoy, send me a DM with your number. It would be lovely to build a supportive neighborhood community during this exciting season of life.
Hey neighbors!
A few of us are organizing a new 18+ soccer club, and we’re trying to get some local players from the neighborhood involved.
We are building this to be a city-wide community, hosting matches at fields across Queens, Manhattan, and Brooklyn to make it easy for everyone to catch a game regardless of where you are commuting from or hanging out that week.
The Details:
To keep things community-first and respect the local subreddit rules, I'm not dropping external links or ads here.
If you’re down to play or want info on our upcoming games, drop a comment below or shoot me a DM! I'd love to get you connected to the group.
Hi all - just received a bit of a gut punch that my dad was diagnosed with Primary Progressive Aphasia.
I dont know too much about it other than he’s been struggling to find the words to finish sentences, he’s been getting confused about things he normally is really good at, and has been forgetful. He doesn’t live in NYC but apparently my mom noticed it getting worse and took him in for testing and that was the diagnosis.
It sounds like there’s no cure and it’s basically a guarantee that in 5-15 years it will develop into full on dementia. Apparently it’s quite rare and it’s the same thing Bruce Willis was recently diagnosed with.
I feel like I’m handling it okay but I’m stressed about how it will affect him, my mom, and myself and not exactly sure what I should do.
I thought it might be helpful to talk with others who have experienced the same thing for support and advice.
Anyone know if such a thing exists? If not, maybe I’ll just inquire if anybody else is experiencing something similar and might be interested in meeting with a group at fort Greene Park.
Thanks!
***ADDING SUNDAY AFTERNOON HOURS 1-4pm***
There's still a lot of great stuff available.
DM me for details or to ask about any specific pieces.
(Thanks to everyone who came on Saturday!!)
I’m helping my in-laws clear out their place at Taaffe Lofts this weekend, and there’s a lot of good stuff that needs to go. Not junk, just too much to move.
Records: jazz, soul, funk, rock, classical/opera, blues, spoken word, etc. Full list/prices here:
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1iNcZZpGcgI58tLvZgNXBdZZrTziARjtObeHs_3zPkk4/edit?usp=drivesdk
Some highlights include John Coltrane, Bill Evans/Shelly Manne, Lou Donaldson, Grace Jones, Stevie Wonder, Aretha Franklin, King Curtis, B.B. King, Maria Callas, and a bunch of classical/opera box sets. Conditions are noted in the sheet, and prices are meant to move.
Most things are well-kept, quality pieces, priced reasonably because we’re trying to clear the apartment this weekend. Happy to make bundle deals, especially on records or multiple home items.
DM for details. Browsing welcome!
Looking for something, ideally walking distance, to get rolls developed, any tips welcome!
poor kitty i love you
We rescued this affectionate, chatty kitten running around Margot today. She let me scoop her up, carry her to the vet, and walk her 20 minutes home after going to the vet and confirming she doesn’t have a chip. she's a total sweetheart even though she’s begrudgingly adjusting to the indoors.
We tried settling her at a friend's place, but she's been hissing nonstop through the door at the two resident kittens. To avoid stressing her (or them) out, she really needs a calm, pet-free space just for the night while we line up a foster or bring her to ACC.
Can you help? Please DM me ASAP if you can take her in overnight! 🙏
(She might actually be a he—TBD!)
Hey everyone - We moved to the neighborhood two weeks ago, and we’ve been absolutely in love with it so far. Over the last 24 hours we’ve noticed a lot of helicopters overhead that didn’t seem to be there previously. Is this normal for the neighborhood?
There is a very small gray female cat in heat living (I think) behind Brooklyn Tech. I’ve seen her on S. Elliott. Has anyone interacted with her or fed her? Is she totally feral? I would love to trap this cat and at least have her spayed so we don’t have more cats suffering on the street, but I don’t really want to undertake that project alone. If you have a trap/would be willing to help, please respond.
