The foxhole devs are truly incredible

In just a few updates they managed to COMPLETELY swing the pendulum the other way and reverse the massive pop imbalance XD

Anyways my heart goes out to the collies who will get hit with every nerf under the sun when the pendulum swings the other way.

What's going on this war?

I've not had the time to pay much attention to the war but I logged in this morning and the Collies have already basically won. It's been two days, what in the world happened?

Field Modifications Overhaul

Tired of all the AI generated garbage so I figured I'd throw in my two cents.

I'd really like to see an overhaul of the field modification station that has visual additions to the tank for what's changed. Lets take this BT I mocked up.

Changing the hull MG for an HV version?

Spare track wheels to reduce track chance, or reduce the health require a lower health threshold to repair them.

Spare tracks over the front to increase armor by a flat 0.5%?

AA 20mm on top?

Muzzle brake to reduce inaccuracy after firing?

No clue how much anything should cost. All I know is this would be a hell of a lot more interesting than 12.5% more health per tier.

Is this a PvP trick or something?

I'm mostly a logi player and when i go to the frontline as infantry i often see myself in situations like this, even in 1v1s.

So i see the enemy, we are in a open field, i stand still to aim(and sometimes crouch to recover the accuracy faster) while the enemy just go nuts zig-zagging and shooting(most times the rifle isn't even facing me but i get shot anyway) and they hit almost every single shot WHILE RUNNING.

I know this must be skill issue or something but i'd like to learn what to do in this situation, it feels like if i move my crosshair 0.01 pixel i lose all my accuracy while the guy just strolls around at mach jesus and chris kyle my ass back to the townbase.

Also this is not a warden or colonial weapons/kit issue cuz i see people from both sides doing this.

You should have fun

That's it. People play video games to have fun, everything else is optional.

You don't have fun playing one faction? Switch to another.

You don't have fun and don't want to switch? That is fine, take a break.

Balance is not your problem, it is dev's problem.

Low pop is not your problem, it is dev's problem.

Somebody tells you that you shouldn't have fun, because they suffered for years?

It is their problem, not yours.

No ones given up.

I'm still on the frontline. I'm still producing bmats. Wardens have not given up, contrary to popular colonial belief. I see the many brave blue men giving their lives daily. No matter what super weapon the opposition gets we will continue to fight. Review bombing and mass quitting is the sign of a goblin, take heart those who are still fighting, you've passed Callahans final test. you've submitted your name in history. now all we have to do is fight no matter the outcome or how long it takes. We are the faction of 31/32. We've survived more nukes than they could throw at us multiple times. Victory is our heritage.

The balance black hole of the Noble Widow (HTD)

https://preview.redd.it/f1f05zgtblkh1.png?width=1258&format=png&auto=webp&s=3ffdc69f4fb9699e7558f0644921ef9a4fe99e0b

To preface, I know some people will see the title and comment saying "The HTD is trash". While yes, it is underperforming in the current meta, the mere existence of the HTD has caused a mass downward spiral of tank/inf AT balance issues since its introduction in U43.

The HTD initially introduced in the update directly after winter army (U42) as the first sole tank destroyer in the game bolstering an HV75 68 that shoots for 1050 AP damage. Now, back then in a resource scarce environment, the idea behind the HTD was to counter the falcon that came with winter army. And it did its job too well. A single HTD required 3 shots to kill a falchion. And back then tanks were sparce, so every kill meant something.

Shortly after, the Devs released the HTDs "Counterpart" on the tech tree, the Bardiche. This was the first tank designed after the HTD released so it had taken into account the HTDs powerful weapon, so the bard started with (and still has) 4000 HP.

In this current time, a single crate of HTDs has a 12.5% chance (33% pen x 1.5 pen modifier x 3) to instantly kill both the falchion and spatha in 1 burst, and a 25% chance to disable it (1 bounce)

Fast forward to U55 where we arrive at our current problem of HP creep on the collie side. Falc, Spatha, and Talos all receive massive HP increases to avoid being able to be one shot by a crate of HTDs and still be drivable after 2 pens.

Now the problem of the HTD.

The tank is a slow hunk of metal that cannot get very far very fast. The problem is, you cannot reliably buff its mobility because of the threat 1050 AP damage brings to the table. And you cannot reliably nerf the HP of collie tanks because of its raw damage potential.

Now, how do you get around both of these issues? Reduce the HV!

Reducing the HV allows both issues of inflated HP of collie tanks and horrible handling/mobility of the HTD

THIS IS AN EXAMPLE

Reducing the HTD HV to 25 gives the HTD a damage output of 750. This can allow the HTD to receive either Speed increases or fuel consumption decreases

In return, the HP increases of U55 can be reverted to allow the HTD to disable in 3 and kill in 4.

Some of you may be saying. "but isnt that exactly what the number to kill/disable is now" Yes! It is. But while the HTD stays the same TTK this is an indirect buff to every other AT damage source on the warden side. The "brawler" (lmao devs) Sivlerhand isnt cucked by bloated HP, the Outlaw isnt poking at nothing just to heal back up.

Another side effect of this is it will bring the power of BTs back up. With less HP and less overall damage on MPF tanks, the larger HP pool of BTs a more generalized use again.

Obviously, a more fine tooth comb can be taken to the tank rosters because of this.

I KNOW I DID NOT COVER EVERY COLLIE/WARDEN TANK. I DO NOT CARE TO TYPE EVERY SINGLE BUFF/NERF REDUCING THE HTD HV WILL CAUSE. THIS IS JUST A POST EXPLAINING MY THOUGHTS ON THE ISSUES THE HTD HAS CAUSED.

Wish there was a competitor

I wish there was a reasonable competitor which had the integrated supply chain gameplay of Foxhole. It would actually cause the companies to compete to make a fun game rather than just keep the lights on with minimal development effort.

Some Fun Plane Ideas From a collie

mmm just throwing some fun MS.Paint planes I drew up out there for what "types" of planes I would add to the game or as suggestions for cool concepts to the devs. Based the warden plane off the British De Havillan Mosquito and the second off the U.S B-26 Marauder. then added a bunch of angles and shortened the tail to be more in line with the other Mergo "the dive bomber" Basically the warden plane would be a CAS plane that shoots 3+3 ap rockets. "Amount/damage/reloads negotiable" And the Collie would be a Maritime Strike plane. that carries 4+4 Bouncing bombs "amount/damage/reloads negotiable" Both would have a basic 12.7mm to protect themselves from something like a scout plane or maybe shoot at soldiers as they are flying down towards their targets. Wardens get CAS we Get something to more specifically target naval... We both win??? idk whatchu think?

The next update after this war has balance in the description… & we get some qol.

Probably the next balance is tanks, and never know might even be battle tanks buffs . A sprinkle of infantry stuff maybe.

They just covered large ship stuff, coastal guns and big bomber resistance on large ships (saw plenty of videos of large planes obsoleting them).

Only so much spaghetti code can be handled in 6 weeks.

Just give precise information about what makes it feel off. Specifically the gear a player uses, not the other side. That way knowing from a perspective of used gear can its weakness be explained better.

u/-Click-Bait — 10 hours ago

Reminder, that players do not decide the balance changes.

I would like to remind everyone that no Wardens or Colonials have nor had decided balance, devs do that. Gloat and revenge posting wont bring Warden pop back nor will it do anything good for the game.

I do not understand that after suffering something you wish it to the other person. I dont understand the short sightedness of those who are happy that "pendulum swinged their way", because if pendulum swings, it will wing back. Shouldnt you be trying to stop it when you know how it feels?

I would also want to tell everyone that as much as our factions are distinct they are also same. Meet Foxhole player on a street and you wont be able to tell if he is Warden or Colonial.

Without saying this also applies to the Wardens too when pendulum inevitably swings again, as it doesnt look like its gonna stop.

Edit: grammar

Get off reddit

I’m begging both sides stop going on Reddit to make yourself mad at the other side. You’re letting like a dozen people dictate how you play a game. Reddit is a small percentage of the overall foxhole population.
