I need help

okay so. the first time I watched a PLAYTHROUGH (can’t play vg) I loved the aesthetic and story so much, the only issue is I really get reaaaallly scared. like the next day I was like getting flashbacks n stuff :( especially to that kid who’s head explodes (at the beginning) I never finished it but I loved the artstyle and the actual story :( I didn’t get past the hospital bit and I’d love to watch more. although to be fair I was 13,

Chapter 4 Battery Softlock/Glitch (Android) (updated)

(I took down the first post as I returned to that moment and replicated the actual way I triggered softlock in my playthrough. Attached an updated vid for all 3 glitch variations)

Basically title. I spend a lot of time on that screen not understanding what I missed and what should I do next, before looking up walkthrough and realizing I softlocked my game and there was supposed to be a battery.

It works like this: you press a button, a lid opens, a hand, holding a battery emerges, stays up for a few seconds so you could grab the battery, before returning back and closing the lid. You can repeat the process if you haven't grabbed a battery the first time.

Unfortunately I found out that this entire sequence is incredibly prone to glitches for one simple reason — you can press button again in the middle of it, which can cause 3 types of glitches, depending on a timing, 2 of which cause a softlock. And unfortunately for me I got the last one in the video, where the lid just opened (easy to miss with visual noise) and nothing else happened, so I never knew there was supposed to be a hand holding a battery.

Would be nice to attach some sort of "busy" flag to that button, so it couldn't be pressed in the middle of a sequence, which would prevent these sorts of glitches from happening. Softlocks in a Point&Click Adventures are especially unfortunate
