May nakita akong post sa FB about female freedivers being taken advantage of, and na-trigger ako nang very slight kaya gusto ko rin i-share experience ko.

There’s this guy I met from a sikat na diving school sa Batangas. At first okay naman. Usap usap, wholesome, parang leaning pa nga toward serious relationship yung vibe. At that time, nasa peak din siya ng kasikatan as an UW photographer/videographer.

Walang sexual sa conversations namin. Tapos nag-ooffer siya ng free shoots and content. Sobrang wholesome nya so sabi ko, mukhang okay naman. So eventually we met, only for me to realize na ang habol lang pala niya was to get laid.

After that, tuloy tuloy pa rin yung offers niya ng “free” underwater shoots tapos boudoir eme eme. Nangungulit pa rin from time to time pero wala na talaga akong interest after seeing through the bullshit.

Posting this for awareness. Please be careful sa mga “free shoot” offers from UW photographers, especially if hindi niyo talaga personally kilala at trusted yung tao.

I won’t drop names, pero he used to dive sa isang sikat na freediving school sa Mabini. May sarili rin siyang photography business and workshops.

Hindi ito chismis. Alam kong nandito ka sa Reddit. Obvious naman sa username mo. Itigil mo na yan. Stop taking advantage of female freedivers just so you can get laid.

Freedive Competition

HELLO! Five digits ang registration fee tapos sasabihin mong walang kinita?

Kadiri.

Molchanovs Wave 1 Certification

Hello! I’ve done a lot of intro dives and fun dives already, and marunong naman na rin ako basic swimming.

Sa mga nagstart as beginner then naging Wave 1 certified freediver, worth it ba siya? Gaano katagal bago kayo naging certified? Also, baka may marerecommend kayong trusted instructors or schools na pwede ko icheck out. Any tips, recommendations, suggestions in general will be very much appreciated!

Salamat sa sasagot!

Anong mas ok, sa opinion niyo po or expi?

Hi! Hindi parin ako nakakapili. Gusto ko po sana iconsider yung 3 open water sesh ni OceanLimits while 2 open water sa No Fins! But mas marami review si No Fins so im not sure if nagmamatter ng sobra yon.

How To Keep Watch / Computer Secure In Hood

Hi all,

Just wondering what system people use for mounting a watch on your neck. Sometimes I miss my alarm during FIM dives when on my wrist and I want repeatability/reliability.

Putting inside my hood solves the issue, however I'm paranoid about loosing the watch if its not properly secured there which I'm sure will happen sooner or later and its an expensive item to replace.

I have seen some divers basically have a string they loop around the neck to use as a "lanyard" but this still seems like the design or system could be better as its still not particularly secure in place.

I was thinking a wider strap (at least as wide as the watch strap) that goes around the neck. Something that is secure enough to negate risk of loss, but still easy enough to remove whilst out on the buoy if needed and is safe/comfortable.

Is attaching to a neck weight a good option instead of going under the hood?

I'm sure I'll come up with something, but I'm curious to hear what others suggest or do.

No lectures on depth alarms being bad please 😉

Graded Freediving Mask

Last January, first time ko magfree dive. Lumilinaw naman kapag nakamask and nasa ilalim ng tubig pero malabo pa rin as 850+ girly. Bored ako ngayon and di ako makatulog so nagcheck out ako ng free diving mask na may grado. Excited na ako sa future dives ko! HAHAHAHA Thank you for this subreddit for the recommendation.

BEWARE OF THIS PLACE (NAPALING REEF)

‼️‼️‼️For Panglao divers:‼️‼️‼️

Beware of Dominggo Cafe-Napaling (name of page on Facebook)

Went diving there on May 17 at Napaling Reef. I thought my bag was safe because all the other divers left their belongings on the tables. To be sure, this is how I secured my belongings: wrapped my phone and wallet in a garbage bag, put said garbage bag in my bag, covered my bag with my towel hoodie, placed that in a chair with other divers’ belongings.

When my dive buddy and I left the cafe to go eat lunch back in Alona, upon opening my wallet I discovered that all my cash was gone. Nothing left, not even P100. I have been messaging the cafe but no response at all.

sea mites bites tips

I love freediving and I’m planning na gawin ko siyang hobby but I’m too scared of jellyfish or sea mites bites. I currently have it and mukhang gradually naman nawawala with calamine but of course it takes time.

I’m just too scared that this will happen every dive. Ganito rin ba kayo? So palaging may gagamutin every after dive?

How do you guys deal with it and can you even avoid it?

Tips please.
