Hi! I’ve done a couple of intro to freediving sessions in Mabini, Batangas with different schools/camps—the first one was in 2024, and the second one was just this month. After my latest session, na-realize ko na gusto ko talagang i-pursue ang freediving. 🥹

Any tips or recommendations for a total beginner? I’m looking sana for a program na may multiple sessions and certification na rin, preferably iyong one-time payment tapos ilang sessions na included. Okay lang din if pool-based muna para mas accessible within Metro Manila and mas madali i-maintain ang practice.

Would also appreciate any recommendations for schools, coaches, or communities na beginner-friendly. Salamat!

I just wanted to warn others in the freediving community to be careful.
This person initially comes across as very professional, friendly, and trustworthy. But after getting to know him, his behavior became increasingly inappropriate and his intentions felt malicious.
After speaking with other people, I found out I wasn’t the only one. Apparently, there are several silent victims who had similar experiences but chose not to speak up.
If you’re planning to book a freediving coach or underwater photographer, please trust your instincts. If someone starts crossing your personal boundaries, making you uncomfortable, or acting differently once they’ve gained your trust, don’t ignore those red flags.
I’m sharing this so others can be more cautious and hopefully avoid going through the same experience.

Today i had a bad experience doing line training, had to abort after only trying it for two times because of significant pain in my right ear. Coach said I was doing valsalva instead of frenzel. Rough water also had me throw up three times while on the platform. Staring at the line and the depth felt blank.

Hi! Is there freediving spots or someone offering freediving just at Lio beach? I have a 6hr layover at El Nido. Also any tips or recommendations on what to do within that time? Is being in the airport 1hr 30mins before the flight enough? Thank you!
