Violette Top - napkin upcycle

I think I found this pattern on this sub - so thank you to whoever has also shared this one! I wanted to make something with this old napkin set but I didn’t have enough fabric to do anything too detailed, and honestly barely had enough for this project.

I manipulated the pattern a little to keep the finished edge, and the green border which I love. But made the sizing a little big. I didn’t have enough fabric to make bias tape, so I did a finished edge with some scrap borders. The stretch is off but that’s a me problem not the pattern problem. I love this little top and would recommend it to anyone as a quick and easy sew.

Feedback: There are several pieces with embroidery that I saved. They just didn’t line up well with the pattern. I am thinking about adding a pocket to the front with a embroidery piece. Design is similar to the one on the back, but different.

Longan craft structured pants

https://www.longancraft.com/products/structured-pants-sewing-pattern-free-pdf-pattern-download

I made the pants that were a little fishy for possibly being an ai pattern! Admittedly this rayon jacquard was the wrong fabric and I think the pieces have stretched and sagged a good bit, both during construction and wearing. The cool seam lines basically disappear in this fabric, but this pattern did come together nicely. One cool thing that I liked was this pattern came with a separate piece for the finished back pocket, which I used to easily fold over those rounded seam allowances. The crotch curve turned out basically perfect in this flowy fabric, but it may need some tweaking in an actual structured fabric.

I haven't put a drawstring in because the elastic is great, but i did add the buttonholes which were nicely marked on the waistband pattern piece. I used 1.5 inch elastic. I like wearing my pants quite high, and when I measured the pieces, I thought the rise may be too low, but I think the shifty rayon worked to my advantage in that I likely cut the pieces a little large/inaccurately.

Overall I liked this pattern but I don't think I'll make again unless I find some fabrics perfect for colorblocking the different panels, to highlight the cool seam lines. Mostly my fabrics are all secondhand so I just don't anticipate this happening. I think in a more stable fabric, a beginner could have fun with this pattern, if they were already familiar with construction techniques like in seam pockets, because the provided instructions are not great.

I didn't particularly use the instructions, but I think there are more clues in there that lead to this being Ai generated sadly. On the other hand it may just be the case where a few people or one person made the pattern somehow and only one sample was ever actually made. Kinda like mood sewciety patterns. Not the best quality but still fun to use sometimes

ISO gown pattern

Maybe a long shot but does anyone know of a pattern that could get me close to this? Simple strapless gown and I’d like to use beaded mesh fabric of some sort

Frog Wedding Clothes Pattern

Hi everyone! One of my close friends is getting married soon and we have bonded recently over knitting. I was hoping to be able to make something like this for them, but I can’t find a pattern for the clothes. Does anyone have a pattern they could share (happy to buy the pattern). Thank you!

Made this matching hat and bag for my mom

I’m super proud of this. These are the fourth and fifth things I’ve ever sewn.

The bag has five pockets, including a flipping pocket, two holders for bottles or a mini umbrella, and a clip to attach keys to. The key clip wasn’t part of the pattern and was totally improvised, which I’m also proud of lol

Pattern Sewing Catalog

I remember a while back I encountered a site with basically a catalog of thousands of free patterns and paid patterns that was organized with a filter. I remember the site extremely easy to navigate with barely any ads on mobile. It wasn’t by a particular brand or company like mood fabrics or anything. It was just a catalog with patterns with photos from all kinds of sites. I forgot what was the name the site was though and wondered if anyone would know what I’m talking about. I found stunning free patterns on there and it’s a shame I forgot

Longan craft structured pants

https://www.longancraft.com/products/structured-pants-sewing-pattern-free-pdf-pattern-download?variant=44129871397044

They call these structured pants, maybe because of the cool seam lines on the front. I haven't made these yet but I did just cut out the pieces and there is definitely shaping at the ankle to give a sort of barrel shape. There is also a buttonhole marking on the hem that is not mentioned in the listing so maybe they could even be bubble shape! The front pockets are shaped smartly so they anchor into the waistband seam.

This pattern was easy to print and assemble, with clear makings at the margins. However it didn't have a print size gauge thingy, usually a square that you measure after printing just one of the pages. There are plenty of helpful notch markings for lining up the curved seams on the front. The sewing line is printed very clearly on the pieces including seam allowance and even topstitching lines. The crotch curve is quite shallow on these. It only comes in 2 sizes and the files are separate

https://www.longancraft.com/collections/sewing-pattern they have a few other free patterns too!

Help with puff sleeve hack please!

Hey fam, I am working on creating this dress. I have the bodice already, I'm using the Fabrics-store Augustina boxy top pattern that I hoarded while they were still free. I am using it to create the dress pictured, and this pattern already has a short drop shoulder - would the puff sleeve addition be shaped, or just a gathered rectangle?
