When it comes to free patterns, one doesn't always find a pattern that is exactly like you're looking for. Chances are you'll have to make changes to a pattern or even hack two or more patterns together.

This is a free pattern sub. All patterns requested and posted must be free (instructions to self-draft patterns are also allowed). Links to premium/paid patterns will be deleted.

I’m trying Julie Top from mendisews and having a lot of trouble following the directions. Has anybody made this? I’ll keep working on my mockup, but even that’s challenging me. I think I’m just not in the makers frame of mind

Hi Everyone!! I’m kinda new to sewing :)

• Does anyone have any good west highland terrier patterns?

• I plan on making this a weighted stuffed animal, what’s the best filler?

• Do you guys think this could be hand stitched? And if so hold long would you guys think i’ll take if I wanted to make a to make it around 25 inches in length?

(I put a link to a stuffed animal i thought was super cute and i want to try and replicate)

I recently broke up with my bf and my fav stuffed animal was one he gave me so I wanna get a new one and why not make one of my dog :)

Good morning from sunny Canada! I am just jumping back into sewing, so it has been a minute. I have recently made two pairs of the Arthur pants; one in poly woven suiting and the other in a textured rayon that is quite stiff. Both pairs turned out quite differently, based on the fabrics’ drape. I found some amazing patterned vintage sheets from my local thrift store. They are either 100% cotton or a poly cotton blend. Because I want to not waste this wonderful fabric I am wondering if the drape of cotton that is probably better suited for something like quilt backing is the right fabric for another pair of Arthur pants? If not, can you recommend a pattern that is similar to Arthur pants that would look great in this type of fabric. I’m considering the Ethel pants, Kite pants, barrel pant sewing pattern on Etsy, and similar patterns. Thanks in advance, and I hope that everybody has a great day!

Planning on making a patchwork hoodie with thrifted hoodies I found. Juggling the idea of sewing panels onto an existing sweatshirt, however I also see people online making patterns out of cardboard. Which is the best method? How do those using cardboard account for seams and make sure it still fits? Anything else I should keep in mind/consider?

Hello everyone I hope you're all doing well.

I want to preface this post by saying that I am a beginner who knows the basics of sewing, but I wanted to try to make my own clothes because where I am from, buying the fabric and making your own clothes is in fact cheaper than buying ones from stores. Hence the search for patterns.

I came across this instagrammer/youtuber by the name of @ByLukasLissewski (this is his youtube username), and I saw his videos and his clothes look like the ones that I wanna try my hand at making. But all of his patterns are not accessible unless you pay 10-12 usd for them (which, again is a lot of money where I'm from).

I wanted to see if anyone has his patterns or if there is any way to get his patterns for free rather than me having to save up money every month or 2 for buying patterns.
