Now that this year's Thunderdome will have the same format as 2024 edition, do you think it will be good?

I mean, 2 days of madness is a yes for me lol.

Gabbers..

Hey everyone! I wanted to ask something and hear opinions from real gabbers. I’ve loved hardcore since I was around 19 years old and I listen to it regularly. Of course I don’t only listen to hardcore, but hardcore is definitely the biggest part of my music taste. I love the energy, the feeling, the culture, and I enjoy it with my whole body, soul and heart. I also like going to raves and festivals. The thing is, some “friends” around me make fun of me and say that if I want to call myself a gabber, that i NEED to have shaved hair, I NEED to know how to hakken, I need to know everything about hardcore culture, I should only listen to hardcore, and I can’t wear Australian tracksuits or Nike Air Max anymore unless I’m “real.” So I wanted to ask you all.. do I really need to know hakken to be a gabber? Is it about rules, or is it more about the love for the music and the feeling?
Thanks for the answers, gabbers.

Looking for “sleeper drop” tracks (calm intro → hardcore / uptempo / frenchcore drop)

Hey,

I’m looking for a very specific type of electronic music structure and I don’t know if there’s an official name for it.

Basically tracks that start sounding calm / normal / even pop-like (or melodic EDM) and then suddenly switch into a very hard uptempo / hardcore / frenchcore / breakcore drop.

The idea is a bit like a “sleeper car” in music:
you think it’s a chill track… and then it suddenly turns into something extremely fast and aggressive (180–250+ BPM vibe, distorted kicks, hardcore energy).

I’m especially interested in:

  • Frenchcore / uptempo hardcore drops
  • Hard genre switches (calm → extreme)
  • Tracks with fake calm intros before the drop
  • Anything with a sudden BPM or energy shift

If you know artists, tracks, or even mixes / SoundCloud stuff that match this style, I’m looking for recommendations.

Thanks 🙏

Edit : Voici une musique de référence qui montre l'effet que je veut : Japanse Beuker - Opgekonkerd

Whats the best uptempo/kraak piep track you xan recommend?

Hardcore has many many styles. Some I love, some not so much. One of those is the uptempo/kraak piek style.

Every song sounds like a copy of the last one, to me. But it's quite popular!

Can you recommend me a track that is epic? I'd love to get some good recommendations

Help bring some depth to Sydney

To preface this I attended Hakken entertainments Progression 1.0 event with Hellsystem and Rosbeek over the weekend and it truly is refreshing to see them bring such interesting lineups to Aus.

With Hakken being very responsive to fan suggestions and their willingness to book niche artists/sets I was thinking us Aussies in here should band together to try and request some sets we’d like to see.

I’ve personally reached out to request these 4 sets, if you guys would like to see them then please get in touch and also request them :)

- Ophidian
- Chaotic Hostility
- N-Vitral Classics/Industrial set
- Andy The Core

And if there’s anybody else you’d like to bring then drop em in the comments!
