[PAID] Creative Designer and Writer looking for DEVELOPERS! (Big community ready to back project!)

Hey everyone,

My name is Avery, also known as kxirby. I’m a longtime game lover, server owner, and community builder. I’m looking to start development on a small narrative-focused game, and I’m trying to find the right developer to help bring it to life.

I do not have experience with game engines myself, so I’m not going to act like I know everything on the technical side. What I do have is a strong creative direction, a lot of ideas, experience running game communities, and a pretty good understanding of what keeps players interested.

The type of game I want to make would be somewhat similar to The Stanley Parable or The Corridor. Not a huge openworld game or anything. I’m thinking more of a focused first person experience built around walking, exploring, narration, strange choices, and weird moments that make the player question what they’re doing.

The main idea would be something simple on the surface, but memorable because of the writing, atmosphere, and player experience. A game where the player is moving through rooms, hallways, offices, strange environments, or repeating spaces while the story slowly shifts depending on what they do. I like games that feel funny, confusing, unsettling, or oddly personal without needing crazy combat or massive mechanics.

I’d want the game to focus on things like:

  • First-person exploration
  • Strong narration or story direction
  • Player choices that actually feel noticed
  • Strange/funny/creepy moments
  • Looped or changing environments
  • Multiple endings or different routes
  • A simple but polished atmosphere
  • Light puzzles or interactions if they make sense
  • A game that feels unique without being impossible to build

I’m not looking to make a giant project right away. I’d rather start with something realistic, polished, and actually finishable instead of dreaming too big and never getting it done.

This would be a paid project. I’m mainly looking to get a realistic idea of pricing, what engine would make the most sense, what scope would be reasonable, and what the development process would look like.

I also do have a community already, which I think helps a lot. I run a Discord with over 6,000 members, and a lot of them are already into games, servers, roleplay, and creative projects. So this would not be starting completely from zero. I already have people who would be interested in seeing the project, testing it, giving feedback, and supporting it if it turns into something solid.

Ideally, I’d like to work with someone who:

  • Has experience with Unity, Source, S&BOX/Source 2, Unreal, Godot, or similar engines
  • Can help turn a creative idea into something actually playable
  • Is comfortable working with someone who has the concept/story side but not the coding side. (I have a general idea but mainly used LUA which I've learned is almost pointless in most engines)
  • Can give honest feedback on scope, pricing, and what is realistic (honestly)
  • Has examples of past work, prototypes, or finished projects
  • Is open to building something weird, story-driven, and player-experience focused

I’m mainly looking for a developer who can help me figure out what this would cost and potentially work with me on the project longterm if it makes sense.

If this sounds like something you would be interested in, feel free to comment or message me with your experience, portfolio, and a rough idea of how you usually price projects like this.

Thanks!

[FOR HIRE] Experienced Unity Developer | Gameplay, Systems, Backend

I’m an experienced Unity developer focused on complex gameplay systems, scalable architecture, and production-ready implementations.

What I Work On

  • New projects from scratch or support of existing ones
  • Large, specialized systems (IAP stores with monetization logic, procedural generation, weapon & character systems, economy systems)
  • Reusable gameplay systems built once and reused across projects to reduce long-term development cost
  • Meta-progression systems (tasks, upgrades, configurable progression loops, replayability)
  • Backend & online features (authentication, cloud saves, leaderboards, friends, chat, remote configs)
  • LiveOps systems (new content, offers, events, cosmetics without full game updates in stores)

If the scope grows or the project needs faster implementation, I can bring in 1–2 Unity developers I’ve worked with before. They usually handle implementation-heavy tasks while I stay focused on architecture and core systems.

For projects that require server-side authority, I also work with a backend developer who specializes in game servers.

Portfolio

  • Puzzle projects
  • Mahjong
  • Tycoon / Hotel simulator
  • Hybrid casual games
  • Roguelike
  • Parking Order Puzzle
  • Shared backend platform supporting multiple games under one account with cross-game resource transfers

YouTube channel (portfolio samples): https://www.youtube.com/@whitearrowgamedev

I’m currently updating the video format, so not all projects are public there. Additional private work can be shared upon request via DM.

How I Work

  • Work is split into 2‑week milestones
  • Each milestone ends with a playable build
  • Scope and timeline are agreed before development starts
  • Pricing is milestone‑based (calculated at $25/hour)

Breaking development into milestones keeps progress visible and makes it easier to adjust gameplay ideas as the project evolves.

Contact

If you need help implementing complex systems or solving technical problems in your Unity project, feel free to reach out.
