Soldering LED for dimmable acrylic rod design-- help me understand please

The sketch is how I'm understanding the two explainations in the screenshots, and I have no idea if my understanding is correct. I am having a hard time wrapping ny brain around this, especially knowing how small the solder points and SMD resistors are...

Small question

I am looking into building my first macro from a ds lite. The guides all say to use a 330ohm resistor. Could someone please provide me an image of the correct resistor? I keep seeing these round ones either tan or blue. But also flat ones. And the flat ones make sense. But I’d already ordered some of the light blue round ones. Will these still work? Idk if the round shape will hinder space within the house. Sorry if I sound absurd, very tech curious but very not informed.

Took me most of the weekend, but i think is worth the effort

Gameboy macro from a Ds Lite with a couple of hardware mod cuz why not

  • 3ds battery inside
  • Screen switch button mod
  • USB C charging mod

The 3d printed case came out a little raw but i already kind of glue the USB C port to the case so it stuck that way

The ds i will be using for my first ever macro

Got this off of eBay for like 15 bucks not working unfortunately I don't have a battery for it yet, but overall it's in good shape. The hinge is still nice and clicky. It almost feels a shame to make this into a macro, but that's what I bought it for so that's what I will use it for also, is it wrong I prefer the feel of the fat DS to the DS light
