Hey everyone!

So let me explain why this one specifically. IO Interactive is the studio behind the Hitman World of Assassination trilogy, which is one of the most consistently excellent series of the last decade. What they do better than almost anyone else is give you a sandbox and let you figure out how to use it. Every Hitman level is basically a puzzle box where you can choose to be methodical and precise and silent, or you can choose to just see what happens if you do something stupid, and both approaches are equally valid and equally entertaining. The levels are dense with systems that interact with each other in ways you don’t always expect, and mastering them takes a genuinely long time because there’s always something else to find or try. That’s the studio making 007 First Light and that matters a lot to me because the DNA of what makes Hitman great is basically perfect for a Bond game.

I should also mention that I’m a longtime Bond fan beyond just the games, and a longtime Hitman fan too. The films, the books, the whole thing. There’s something about the character that has always worked on me in a way that’s hard to fully explain, the combination of competence and controlled chaos, the way Bond always looks like he has a plan even when he clearly doesn’t, the specific kind of cool that the franchise has maintained across decades of very different takes on the same character. I grew up with it and it’s stayed with me. And Hitman is the same story honestly, I’ve put a genuinely embarrassing amount of time into the World of Assassination trilogy, replaying missions trying different approaches, finding new routes, figuring out the most elaborate way to do something that could have been done simply in thirty seconds. So a game that combines both of those things, the two franchises I keep coming back to, is not something I can be normal about.

Bond as a character has had a complicated history in games. There have been great ones, GoldenEye obviously, but for a long time the games weren’t really doing the license justice in a way that felt like it came from people who genuinely understood what makes Bond work. IO Interactive are people who have spent years making a game about a methodical, adaptable, always composed assassin who reads a room and figures out the best way through it. That is Bond. The overlap is so obvious that when the announcement came out it felt almost inevitable in hindsight, and the more I’ve seen of First Light the more confident I am that they actually understand what they’re making.

The origin story angle is what really interests me beyond just the IO pedigree though. This is Bond before he’s Bond, a young Naval air crewman who gets pulled into the Double 0 programme after a heroic act and then has to figure out very quickly what kind of agent he wants to be. He’s described as resourceful and sometimes reckless which is such a good starting point because it leaves room for him to actually develop across the game rather than just being fully formed from the opening scene. The story apparently involves a rogue agent, a deep conspiracy, and a mentor called Greenway who Bond is paired with reluctantly, which is a classic setup but in IO’s hands I trust it completely. These are the people who built an entire trilogy around a single character and made every entry feel different and interesting, they know how to construct a narrative around a specific kind of person.

The gameplay from everything I’ve seen looks exactly like what I hoped for. You can go silent, using stealth and gadgets and talking your way through situations, or you can go loud with firepower and just deal with the consequences. That choice being genuinely meaningful rather than just cosmetic is something IO has proven they can do and seeing it applied to a Bond setting is something I’ve been thinking about since the announcement. Iconic vehicles, infiltrating high security locations, missions in locations that actually look like Bond locations rather than generic action game environments. It all looks right in a way that’s hard to articulate but easy to recognize when you see it.

It releases May 27th which is right around when exams end and I’ll actually have time to sit down with something properly, which is honestly ideal timing. Pre-ordering also gets you the Deluxe Edition upgrade for free which includes early access and a bunch of cosmetics, so the timing of this request matters a little.

As for why I’m making a request instead of just buying it, I genuinely can’t afford it right now. Money is tight at the moment and games aren’t a priority when other things need paying for first. It’s not a complicated situation, it’s just the reality. I just figured it was worth trying.

Hey everyone. I'm a former console only gamer who just recently switched to PC gaming. The reason for it was because i recently became a father and i had to look for something more portable for my gaming needs.

So i got a steamdeck but had to get rid of PS5 because i can't afford to have 2 gaming machines, as money is tight with the family geting bigger.

So why MGSV? It has been my favourite saga ever since i first played the original MGS for the ps1, and because of that im just so familiar with the lore and the games that i tend to replay them whenever life gets tougher as it gives me some familiarity, certainty and a cozy feeling.

Now when i got rid of the PS5 i also got rid of the games MGSV included. I thought the game would be cheaper and at least would vebon sale occasionally, and then i could get the PC version. Boy was i wrong... the game as yet to have been on sale ever since i got my deck (like 6 months ago) and at that price point (29,99€) it way past the pricing mark i set for myself. I mainly buy games fir 5€ or less, always looking for sales.

Why am i requesting this now? Life is getting tough, wife on post partum depression, and pressure is on me to keep everything together around the house and everything else. So now more than ever would be a good time to once again play through MGSV.

What is Baldur's Gate 3?

Baldur's Gate 3 is a turned based RPG made by Larian Studios, the creators of the Divinity series of games. It is based on Dungeons and Dragons and you get to play as one of the origin characters and have the rest be party members or you can create a new character and have the other origin characters. The games starts off on a mindflayer ship in the Avernus and you wake up after being captured and infected with a tadpole in your eye. After escaping the mindflayers, you can gather your party members and explore the Forgotten Realms for loot and a way to cure your infection on your way to Baldur's Gate.

Why do I want it?

Baldur's Gate 3 is a phenomenal game for start to finish and I love the story. This game became my introduction to the world of DnD and I've always wanted to play it on my own. I used to watch steamers, Youtube and Tiktok creators make videos about this game I still do.

I love it's rich lore, the music, the battle mechanics and the fact that almost every action you make has a consequence; regardless of what you, it always seems like the developers already thought 10 steps ahead and it's fun to watch.

Why can't I buy it myself?

I am a student in Ghana and Steam unfortunately does not have regional pricing here so even though it is on sale right now at 25% off, $45 dollars is a lot for me right now. That's about 2 months worth of food costs if budgeted correctly.

I hope everyone is well, and managing in this crazy time we find ourselves in!

I'm here to ask for a nostalgic game today. It's Age of Mythology, but the enhanced version that they've dubbed "Retold".

For those who don't know, Age of Mythology is a real time strategy game from the same guys who made age of empires (my favourite game series ever). Only this time, it isn't Romans and Greeks and ancient history, but Greek, Egyptian and Norse mythology (originally, then expanded to include Chinese and now Japanese) that you control. There are Heroes and mythical creatures like minotaurs and Dragons, and you can even call on God powers like Zeus' thunderbolt!!!

The original came out two decades ago and I've replayed it many times (the opening menu music is epic btw, give it a listen), and now would like to replay the enhanced version. I've been a fan of Greek mythology since I was a child (my final high School year (we call it matric) English presentation was on Greek mythology, I got an A+😁). So this game just hits all the right spots, if you know what I mean? You'll notice my longest playtime on steam is this games cousin, AoE 2 (the 2013 and definitive versions), so rts really is my jam.

I've just quit my job, for a host of reasons I won't bore you with (mainly government bureaucracy), so I'm trying not to spend money on "luxuries" until I sort myself out. Nevermind the economic implications of what's happened in the Middle East. So I'd really appreciate it if someone is feeling generous!

Hello good people of GoG I hope all you guys are doing great!

I came to you because I want to play a lot BG3 now that I'm really getting into the games I love so much. This one specifically is the only game of Larian that I have not made yet. I Manage to now have time to play and see if I have the chance to get into the beautiful world of Forgotten Realms. As a big fan this is a unique chance for me to get into this true masterpiece.

I'm not asking for a fully gifted game.

I have $15 on my account and I just want to see if someone can help me complete the $10 I need for it. taking a chance that is on discount on my country and was my objective to buy it during a discount. But right now maybe on the future I cannot buy it for some personal affairs related to help my family and we'll that's a priority, but already recharged those 15 on the steam wallet so I don't wanna leave like that.

Maybe am asking to much I just want to fill up that little goal to finally play BG 3 legally.
