Hi all. I just insulated my 250sqft garage (r13 walls, r20 ceiling) in Montreal. I'm now looking to install a heat source. I installed a subpanel that can contain up to a 60A circuit.

I was quoted CAD$6995 for a 12000 BTU heat pump (cold climate Carrier model). I'm not really willing to pay this amount, so I'm wondering if I should get a new quote for a different minisplit, or spend $600 on a 5000w or 7500w heater.

Given that the temperature can dip down to -20C or -30C in the winter, what is the best option for me?
