Question to dh students or applicants!

Hi, I’m a Grade 12 student who js finished hs, and I’m hoping to get some advice from current George Brown Dental Hygiene students or applicants who got accepted.
I applied to the program and was waitlisted in April, and I’m still waiting to hear back. My final marks are:

Chemistry: 93%
Math: 94%
Biology: 92%
English: 85% (it was in the 90s previously when I got waitlisted but my mark dripped)

I’m currently taking English in summer school to try to improve it, but I’m wondering if my current 85% is already competitive enough for admission or if upgrading it would really make a difference.
If you’re in the program, could you share what your admission averages or required marks were when you got accepted? It would really help me understand where I stand. Are my grades good enough?

nursing high school recency requirement?

Hello! Just curious if anyone knows if there is a recency requirement for high school grades when applying to the BScN program. I will have a BSc from 2023 and an MA, having graduated high school with the required pre-requisites in 2018. Will this be sufficient? I can’t find any information about a timeline for high school grades online.

Any other older students have experience with GBC nursing?

TIA!

So what's the meal situation like?

I know that there is no dining hall that serves breakfast and the like so is it that yall make your breakfast every morning and dinner every night? Or is it mainly eating at the shops on campus and ordering takeout

edit: ik I'd have to make my own food I'm just asking if ppl are cooking everyday as that sounds like a slightly chaotic situation with tons of ppl needing to use the kitchen 😭

Nursing Theory Tips

Anyone have tips on how to properly prepare for the nursing theory exams? Even after hours of studying all lecture slides, objectives and textbook readings these tests are still brutally difficult. It almost feels like luck plays a factor in what grade you get. Any advice would be great thankssss

PSW TO PN (S119)

Good Morning all,

For those who did this program, what was ur schedule like for semester 1 and 2? In our second semester which is technically semester 1 of PN school (S121) do we have to take a general elective, considering the previous semester?

Lastly, while in PN sem/2/3/4 what facilities can you choose from?

Thanks!

You get what you give

If you have ever wanted to see what it looks like when an institution responds to all it’s students having AI do all their hw by fully embracing AI and firing most of their professors look no further than the 2026-27 school year at GBP lol.

Help needed!!!

Okay I am a incoming student, I’m going to be in the hearing instrument specialist program for fall 2026.
Now I’m confused, what does this mean?? I did all the prerequisites and I got 80’s and 90’s does this mean I still have to take the admission test still or does this mean I don’t have to?

Edit: I’m gonna be at waterfront campus!! If that helps anyone

OSAP issue after SIN change due to PR approval - anyone experienced it?

Hi everyone, I applied for part-time OSAP on April 6, 2026. On April 27, 2026, I became a permanent resident and received a new SIN. The change ended up causing problems with my OSAP application and funding.

To fix the issue, I had to create a new OSAP account with my new SIN and take additional steps to maintain my eligibility. Unfortunately, by the time everything was sorted out, I missed the deadline for my new application by only two days. My university‘s financial aid office is helping me request an exception from the ministry due to the circumstances.

Has anyone been in a similar situation involving a thin change immigration status update or a very late OE application did the Ministry approve an exception? Any advice or experiences would be appreciated.

Thanks.
