My mom found my old Wii last Christmas. I tried to help her boot it up, but we needed an adapter to connect to a modern TV.
She finally got the needed adapter. I don't live locally, and she facetimed me today. The menu boots up, but the disk drive makes a grinding noise and it doesn't seem to recognize any disks.
If I was local I'd try to open and clean it, but I won't be nearby for a bit. Are there any people or businesses near her that can take a look and repair it? Or maybe even just a replacement Wii she could pick up (though there's a lot downloaded on mine, so I'd prefer to keep the original if possible)
NOT OP but I wanted to share with this sub 🤙
I recently blacked out while getting my blood drawn. The nurse called 911 while I was gaining consciousness. I informed her I did not want medical attention, but she called anyway (fair enough, she has to protect herself!). EMS arrived and took my vitals but did not give me fluids or transport. I have not received a bill. My understanding in retrospect is that I should have refused medical attention immediately from the paramedics. Given that I didn't, will I have any way to dispute the $500 fee? I do not have insurance, and it would suck significantly to pay it.
Hey all,
New Georgetown resident, moved from Round Rock. I moved to a very new neighborhood west of 35, and my electricity provider is PEC. I’ve noticed, since I bought my house over a month ago, I’ve had maybe 1 brief power outage, one longer outage, and a brief surge earlier this week. Is this a common thing with PEC, or just a new neighborhood thing? I came from Oncor (great reliability but very expensive)
Thanks!
My apologies if this is already been posted, but does anyone know some kid friendly Fourth of July activities for the fourth? Is there a parade or anything going on down at the Square? Thank you so much in advance.
anyone know of the best spot to sunbathe and swim in lake georgetown right now? i’ve tried going multiple times this summer but no luck finding a good spot after all the rain and such
i knew people said finding an apartment was getting harder, but i honestly didn't think it'd be this stressful
i'm moving to georgetown, tx in the next couple of months and i've been apartment hunting for a while now. i was hoping i'd already have something lined up by this point, but every time i think i found a good place, something falls through or i find reviews that make me second guess everything. i've been checking lots of platform to find something apartments.com, apartment list, One Place Locators, zillow, i still feel like i'm missing something. to make it a little trickier, i also have a tiny toy poodle. she's really quiet and well behaved, but i know some places have pet restrictions and i'm not sure how much that limits my options
who rent around georgetown or nearby, how did you end up finding your place? did you mostly use the big listing sites or was there another way that worked better?
also... how much attention do you actually pay to apartment reviews? some places look great until you read the reviews, i don't want to make a huge mistake
any advice would really be appreciated because i'm definitely overthinking this at this point
Is there parking near San Gabriel park for 4th of July event?
Looking for support. Not my org but love the early support. Maybe we will see another pro team in our area.
me and my gf are trying to find our first place together and i SWEAR i thought this would be like pick a place, sign stuff, done. but now we’re going through listings and i keep spiraling like ok wait does this even matter or am i overthinking everything, like obviously we need basic stuff but then it turns into parking laundry noise gym “amenities” that look cool but probably mean nothing?? and i can’t tell what’s actually important vs just marketing
also why is every place either perfect online and terrible in person or vice versa
pls tell me what you actually cared about after moving in because rn i feel like im guessing blind
I plan on driving to a nice viewing spot around 9pm in town and watching the fireworks from the bed of the truck.
We’ve done San Gabriel park and it’s crowded and difficult.
Any ideas on the best place to park and watch? I don’t need the music or anything.
Takin my kids on a roadtrip to see their uncle (my brother) for the week of July 4th. They're pretty crazy bunch gonna want to play.
any update on opening day?? I do very much do not want to go to anytime.
