Issues/Confusion during enrollment - Goethe University Frankfurt - Molecular Biosciences MSc.

I've recently been offered admission to Goethe University Frankfurt (on 2nd July), and I'm now completing the online enrollment (Immatrikulation).

I'm confused about one section of the enrollment portal that asks for information about previous completed degrees. (Attached Images)

Since I've already graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Microbiology (Year system, no semesters, total 4 years), I understand that I should fill out this section.

However, the issue is with the "1st subject" dropdown. The list contains German subject names, but I can't find an exact match for Microbiology. I see options like Biologie, but I'm not sure whether I should choose that or something else.

My questions are:

  1. Since my degree was already evaluated by uni-assist and I've already received my admission letter, is this section now only for administrative/student record purposes, or does the subject I select here have any impact on my enrollment?
  2. If Microbiology (Mikrobiologie) isn't available in the dropdown, should I select Biologie, or is there another category that would be more appropriate?
  3. Has anyone with a foreign bachelor's degree encountered this during Goethe University's enrollment process?

Issue 2:
There's also a section called Prüfung.

I'm unsure what exactly counts as the "examination."

Should I enter:

  • the date of my final examination,
  • or the date shown on my degree certificate?

I'm probably overthinking it, but I don't want to accidentally enter incorrect information after already being admitted.

Any advice from current Goethe students or other international students would be greatly appreciated.

MMF waitlist

Hi everyone.

I have been waitlisted for MMF. I am ranked 9th in waitlist, and as per admission committee, offer acceptance rate has generally been quite high. What are my chances to get offer after being waitlisted? How was the situation in the previous years?

Got accepted in MMF

I am already in Germany for masters and almost done with my summer semester 2026 at FH SWF. Today i got the acceptance from Goethe University Frankfurt for the course “Money Macro and Finance”

I am confused about some things like,

I got a part time and a mini here after searching for 2 months. But if i go to Frankfurt then i will also have to go by the same process like wasting block money for 2/3 months again.
So i need suggestions from the seniors who are already in Frankfurt or From “Goethe University”

Should i go for this?

How’s the study pressure?

How’s the current job scenarios for the students there in winter?

How about the accommodation? Dorms are available?

Did anyone receive an admission letter from M. Sc In Biochemistry?

I submitted everything via uni-assit, but I have not received any response yet. Ijust want to know just to know if I should keep waiting or assume that I'have been rejected.

Admission Currently Impossible

What are the chances of getting into this course?
They have not explicitly rejected my application. How long will I have to wait for them to make a final decision?
Anyone facing the same problem or have been through this please help.

Realistically, what are my admission chances for Goethe University Frankfurt

Hey everyone

I’m currently an undergraduate Finance student about to enter my 4th (final) year. I'm planning to apply for a Master’s program in Finance (taught in German) at Goethe University Frankfurt for the Winter Semester.
To be completely honest, I didn't realize how much the final GPA matters when I was a freshman, so my first-year grades weren't great. However, I’ve worked really hard to pull my average up since then. Right now, my 100-point scale average is 85. By the end of next semester, I am on track to bring it up to 86–87. If my calculations using the Modified Bavarian Formula are correct, this should translate to around a 1.8 – 1.9 in the German grading system.

I’m aiming to be as transparent as possible, so here is my profile summary:
Target University/Program: Goethe University Frankfurt (Finance / Money, Macro and Finance)
Language of Instruction: German
Expected German GPA: ~1.8 – 1.9
Language Certificate: Taking the TestDaF this October, aiming for a clean TDN 4x4 or higher.
Work Experience: 5 months of official, part-time experience in the finance industry.

Realistically speaking, how competitive is a 1.8–1.9 GPA for Frankfurt's finance master's programs? Does the selection committee look at the upward trend in grades? Also, will my 5 months of relevant work experience give my application a meaningful boost, or do they mostly look strictly at the bachelor's credits and GPA?

Let me know if you need any extra info, and I'll gladly update the post. Thanks in advance for any insights!

MSc Management Science

Hi guys, I noticed that some applicants have already received their admission letters. My application status is still “Valid.” Does that mean I’ve been rejected, or is it still under review?

Goethe Molecular Medicine Interview

Hi everyone,
I just received an interview invitation for the MSc Molecular Medicine program at Goethe University Frankfurt. Has anyone here completed the interview before? What types of questions should I expect, and how should I prepare?
