Comp is Way Too Less

I have been with GS Bangalore office for atleast 2 years and from what I have noticed the pay gap within a team within the same level (eg: Analyst) is huge.

I know an Senior Analyst getting more than 2x the comp of an Associate in the same team. Like literally, same team, same work. There was no major comp correction done during the last two comp season for the Associate.

And I know that college interns who get converted to full time in my team get at least 2x the comp of an Associate in the same team (Associate is a lateral hire)...

And to top it all, the management says to the Associate "You are an integral part of the team and work you do is really good. The team is stable because of you."

I just cannot get my head wrapped up around this pay gap. In order to preserve my identity, I have used terms like Associate and Senior Analyst to not give off much of my identity.

Recently joined 150 ORR

Recently joined the firm. I am not finding any benefits of MNCs, this is my 1st MNC. They didn't even provide a backpack or bottle. The menu items are costly, and it was mentioned that it will be subsidized.

If anyone here plays badminton please reach out.

Should I take the gym membership, no one in my team has taken it, so asking here?

If you have any advice on how to survive here, recently seeing many PIP posts in this sub.

Thanks

Compensation form and offer

Hi i know this is a very similar post. A week back I had my final round with HM regarding the role, colleagues and compensation and it went well he did inform the offer that the letter takes 7-10 days.

Filled all forms the next day. It's 7 days by today. I just want some experienced comments to solve my anxiety.( Definitely sorry if this left you annoyed). It's AWM division

How is the gym

Will be joining the Bangalore office at Marathahalli. How is the gym? Is the subscription worth it?

I'm honestly not worried about the price but working out with colleagues feels a bit alien to me since I've always been alone to the gym

Are there awkward moments? Is it recommended? Any advice is appreciated

Need some perspective on Goldman Sachs post-interview process.

Wanted to understand if anyone else has experienced something similar with Goldman Sachs hiring timelines.

I completed my Superday interviews and later received compensation/documentation forms. I also had a compensation discussion with HR(Not a verbal offer, just discussion), and during that discussion I was told they would get back to me within around 5 days with an update.

It’s been more than a week now and there has been complete radio silence since then. Portal status currently shows “Interview Complete”.

Has anyone seen similar timelines/status behavior after Superday + comp discussion and still eventually received an offer?

Trying to understand whether this is normal GS approval delay or usually not a great sign.

Going to start working here

So yeah I'm gonna start working here as an intern, and after reading the stuff here for the past few months I don't feel that enthusiastic about joining lol, is it really gonna be that bad? (I'm joining the core engineering team)

On a side note should I use the cab facility they provide or travel on my own.

Openings..

Hi

I joined the firm in the month of March as a Contingent worker.

The project on which I was working will end soon.

Today I had a Connect with my manager and he told me that if you want to try in other teams for FTE role you can do so as they can only tell me my possibility for FTE in my current team after 2-3 months

So I am looking for FTE in GS. Open for all locations.

Below are my key skills and work experience.

Work experience - 3 years

Previous company - Northern trust, JP Morgan

Department - Asset and wealth management - Banking operations.

Regards,

Has anyone successfully fought or negotiated during a PIP?

If you feel you didn't deserve to be put on PIP, was anybody able to fight it? Or atleast negotiate for more money or something?

Please DM if you don't want to comment

Selection chances ??

Hey I gave my 3 levels of interview for GS for analyst role. They mentioned that there would be a final round, but since the last round its been radio silence from their end. Its been 3 weeks now. They mentioned they don’t have an idea of the timeline. Is there a chance of getting a fourth round interview ?

Global Banking and Markets - Asset Financing Strats role

Hey everyone!

I just got a call regarding my "introductory" round for the role mentioned above GBM - Asset Financing Strats. Sounds exactly like a sell-side quant role i want to transition into from a buy-side quant at a Tier-2 MFT based in Gurgaon.

Little about me :
- Top 7 IITs with majors in EE and a decent CG.
- Quant researcher with profitable strats in US, Brazil markets.
- Looking for a switch coz the work and the senior management is trash. Not to mention, risk vs reward is the worst.
- Current role doesnt align with future plans of MBA abroad. GS, JP would be feeders to them.

Questions :
- Please educate me with what this division does. Or any leads would be helpful.
- Any tips of how to perform in the interview (coz this is my 2nd interview of my career since the quant was the first interview-first offer)
- Is "introductory" round really just introduction or are they going to grill me?
- Puzzles from brainstellar and puzzledquant should be sufficient or am i missing out on something?

Need your guidance asap since they scheduled the interview for tmrw itself, so im short of time to prepare to my fullest ability.

Thanks in advance!

Time taken from BGV to offer letter and start date?

Hi everyone, I recently accepted an offer from a vendor whose client is GS. During my last round of interview, I also spoke to one of the senior managers in GS. I accepted the vendor offer on April 22nd and I’m waiting to start on the bgv process from GS as well. So far I haven’t received any bgv related email from GS and I was wondering what’s the clearance timeline like. I was told that my ideal start date would be around June 1st but I’ve heard that GS checks can take anywhere between 2-4 weeks. I’ve been getting other offers and I really need to make a decision.

Analyst Application put on hold after HackerRank OA?

Last Friday, GS recruiter called to tell me that I cleared the HackerRank OA. She asked if I was free to connect on Monday at 5 PM. I asked if we could do 6 PM instead.

Today, she reached out and told me that my application has been put on hold. She also brought up, "You were referred by someone, right?"

Did I mess up by saying no to the 5 PM slot? Could rescheduling really cause them to put my application on hold, or is something else going on?

Edit: Application status changed from selected for interview to application turndown

Offer letter expectation

What are the odds of getting an offer letter after submitting the documents and compensation structure. And within how many days, can I expect any update? Also, it would be great if you can share what can I expect for Associate role.

Location- India Yoe-2.8
