Got tired of waiting for the beverage cart so I built this

A lot of courses around me are pretty strict about coolers so everybody either tries sneaking one through the bag drop or just stuffs beers into random pockets and hopes they stay cold.

I bought a golf bag last year that had one of those “cooler pockets” and it leaked all over my clubs. Thing barely held 5 beers too and even less when I tried using an ice pack. After that I kinda went down a rabbit hole trying to make one that actually worked.

The first prototype actually kept ice cold for well over 24 hours, but it still wasnt fully leakproof and would leak if it tipped over in the trunk on the drive to the course. Eventually I ended up investing in a mold so the cooler could be heat sealed properly and thats when it finally started coming together.

The cooler fully comes out of the bag which ended up being my favorite part about it. Holds a 12 pack + ice and even fits a 750ml bottle too which has definitely come in handy during scramble tournaments.

Most golf bag cooler pockets ive used are pretty useless honestly. They either leak, get warm fast, or only fit like a few beers so figured id throw this in here and see what people think.

New irons

Ladies and gents it’s time to upgrade my irons. Should I go with takomo 201 MKii or a more mainstream brand like Taylormade or one of the other name brands?

What is THE BALL for 15ish hcp

Chrome soft triple tracks? Tour response? Z-Star?

Edit: I’m not purchasing golf balls, I got a ton of used ones and I am trying to decide which kind to game

I Finally Figured Out Why I Couldn’t Hit My Fitted Clubs

So I got fitted for clubs about two years ago at True Spec. Awesome experience. Felt like a complete stud walking in there.

At the time I was around a 10 handicap. Fitting went well. Hit some clubs great, some just okay, but I loved the feel of the PXGs. The fitter adjusted everything to match my swing metrics at the time. Pretty out-to-in, over the top move, etc. Clubs arrive two weeks later.

About 6 months go by and I’m actually playing pretty solid golf. Trending toward a 9 handicap for the first time ever.

Then my company moved offices and the new office had a simulator.

This is the exact moment I became a “technical golf guy.”

I started practicing about 30 minutes a day and got obsessed with path numbers and face control. Early sessions showed I was very OTT and out-to-in. The office sim had a decent standard set of clubs, and I decided I was going to “fix” my swing and learn to hit a nice little baby draw.

About a month later, I had basically rebuilt my swing. Maybe a little TOO in-to-out at times, but I was striking it way better on the sim.

On the course though? Absolute chaos.

Snap hooks. Push fades. The occasional shank that makes you briefly consider pickleball. Every miss imaginable.

Back on the sim? Pure.

On the course? Horrific.

Then my driver started getting worse too, and that club hadn’t even been adjusted during the fitting. That’s when it finally clicked:

My fitted irons were built for my OLD swing.

I checked the specs and realized they were bent 1.5° upright. Went to Dick’s for another evaluation and was told my current swing should probably be playing 1° flat.

So now my irons are getting rebent. A casual 2.5° swing in lie angle from where they started.

Should fix everything permanently and forever.

Anyway, golf is the dumbest and best game on earth.

TLDR: Got fitted for clubs. Completely changed my swing afterward. Forgot my clubs were still fit for the old swing. Spent months wondering why I suddenly couldn’t hit my fitted clubs.

Picked up these today!

I’ve always loved Ping and can’t justify buying new irons with how little I get out these days.

I was looking for more forgiving irons and got these for 200. The build date is March 2010 and they still have the original grips that seem decent. Can’t for the rain to stop to get back on the course!

Thinking about getting new irons

I’m like a casual bogey golfer I’ve been playing my irons since I’ve started playing golf and have no problem with them but I didn’t realize until recently how dated the clubs were.
I have currently a set of Taylormade super steel burners.
Thinking about buying a used set of Taylormade stealths.

The Burners were given to me for free, from a family friend. I’m still fairly new to golf and just wondering if it’s worth upgrading my irons to a more modern set.

Do you all use anything to judge yardage inside of 100 yds?

Most people say they just do feel shots inside of 100 yds but I am kind of dumb and end up misjudging chips like crazy which results in my handicap being about 8-9 strokes higher than it could be. Does anyone use a rangefinder inside 100 yds?

I've seen people get shit talked for this but I'm considering using something to give me a yardage and practicing that yardage heavily until I get the feel better.

Customising clubs!

Hey guys, just wondering if anyone here has painted/customised their clubs/Putter in particular?
What paint did you use? What was the process?
I’ve got 2 cheap putters I could practice on before I done my main one

Cheers

Bruce Bolt GOLF Gloves

I have been thinking about buying a two pack of Bruce Bolt golf gloves (not the ones for baseball). Does anyone have any firsthand experience wearing them? I cannot find a lot reviews about them. I always bought standard white golf gloves but I like the color options that Bruce Bolt offers.

Is my L.A.B fake?

Hello! I bought this lab putter from a guy online with over 900+ 5/5 reviews. He told me that he won it from a company tournament so no receipt.

My friend has a never version that looks, sounds and feels better. Mine also have a ping like sound in impact.

Can provide more pictures if needed.

Got a new Wilson driver! Very excited for it

. Was using a 90s big Bertha, which was great but was really itching for something new. Excited to try it out. Anyone have any experience with their driver?

What golf purchase did you regret the fastest?

Not necessarily because it was bad, maybe it just didn’t fit your game, didn’t live up to the hype, or you stopped using it after a week.

Does 4 degree loft difference matter?

Someone told me that it is recommended to have 4 or 5 degree loft difference between the clubs. Right now I'm confuse whether I should get 3 hybrid. I realized that my 4H and 5i are only 2 degree difference. Should i keep my current set up? Or sell my 4H and get 3 hybrid? If I get 3 hybrid, I'm thinking to get 21 degree. I'm still new to golf and still practicing.

My current set up:

Driver Callaway Big Bertha Hawkeye 11 degree
3w Callaway Razr Black
5w Callaway Big Bertha Hawkeye
4H Callaway X 24 degree
5-P Callaway X-16
UW Ping G15 50 degree
S Callaway XR 55 degree
LW Callaway Jaw 60 degree

Wedge Replacement?

I have had this Taylormade MG3 60 Deg Raw face for two seasons now and it’s served me well but I’m wondering if it’s time to replace it. I like the MG series but don’t want to shell out 200 on a new MG5. Any ideas?

New Driver

Hey guys,

I’m fairly new to golf, and only have some really basic equipment.

The other day some guy sold this driver to me, I was really happy to get a Titleist driver for such a good price.

However, after some inspection, I noticed the shaft looks different, and I can’t find any other 8.5° Titleist 910D3s out there.

Can anyone advise me on if I got scammed?

Cheers!
