Who would you guys like to see at the fest next year?

my picks would be turnstile, Playboi Carti, nothing, they are gutting a body of water, glaive, underscores, ninajirachi, Lucy bedroque, basement, MJ lenderman, and trauma ray??? A few of these are def shots in the dark but I can only dream.

if you’re bringing your kid(s) please be responsible for them

i’m sorry if i sound rude but the amount of entitled parents i witnessed throughout the weekend was insane.

got barricade in vip at asap rocky. cool. epic even. this mom proceeds to shove (not ask or anything) her not more than 7 year old daughter in between me and this other girl. not that cool but ok. so i turned around and i said no she can’t stand here (not even trying to be a asshole just in the sense we’re standing in asap rocky’s barricade out of all places where it might get intense). the mom started huffing under her breath saying the daughter can’t even see from anywhere. my morals ended up taking over and i let the daughter through. not even 5 mins into his set she’s sitting on the ground, head in arms. the mom dgaf more focused on recording while her daughter looked miserable (defffff not cool). she was looking around lowkey judging any time we would start screaming or jumping in the slightest. it was awkward in my eyes bc now we got a young girl we have to worry about not getting trampled while the mom was having the time of her life recording. eventually i think she got the hint and left after security was staring at her daughter just sitting there.
we saw so many parents pushing/shoving other people to make room for them and their kids at some sets and looking pissed when people would simply say sorry no or not get their way.

i always try to give the benefit of the doubt to the parents that bring their kids to stuff like this but don’t use them to try and get closer to your favs. it’s inconsiderate to not only the people around you, but maybe even to your kid(s) too. i know most parents aren’t like the mom i wrote about but at the end of the day everyone should be putting their children first. if you and your kid(s) wanna try to get closer that’s cool! don’t get mad/upset and try to
make others feel bad…because you brought your kid(s) and they can’t see/you guys don’t have a “good” spot? we’re at a festival with 10s of 1000s of people LOL bye nobody see most of the time without the screen

jennie fans being weird about clipse

im noticing a couple jennie stans (some not all, the ones in my section were vibing and very nice) on social media being rlly weird and mildly micro aggressive about clipse’s set. saying shit like “i was so scared” “they put their middle fingers up and saxophones got louder” like jesus christ

im biased cs i love clipse and rlly loved lgseo but the crowd didn’t seem super insane like asap (granted i was basically barricade) it’s just annoying i get wanting to see ur favorite artists but jesus these headliner stans are so rude and obnoxious sometimes.

Stray Kids was kinda good?

I was at the stage to watch 2hollis and Wet leg and since I had a pretty decent spot I decided to also stay for the Stray Kids set just to see what the fuss was all about you know. I genuinely expected it to be kind of meh, since Im not into Kpop at all and litteraly never heared a single song of them. My expectation was somewhere around Justin Bieber and that one awfull bts song that was in the Radio a few years ago.

Hence my suprise when they where actually good. They performed their asses off, brought a lot of energy and music vise I really genuinely liked alot of the songs. They went alot harder then I would have thought (there was Rap and also some Rock and EDM vibes more then actuall Pop I would say). I might actually have to look up what those songs where I liked because I could genuinely imagine to add them to a playlist?

Definatly biggest suprise of the weekend for me and Im still processing the fact that I (as a man in his late 30s) enjoyed a Kpop performance as much as a I did😂. Am I alone in this?

wasnt even allowed inside

im a really big rocky fan and i didnt have much interest for anyone else’s set and i guess im just posting to rant about my terrible experience. i lost my car in a accident i was in recently and had to take my trip through trains and subways i ended up taking a subway train that gave me like a 30 minute walk to the venue and i would be on time for rockys set which supposedly starts at 8:45 and as i took that long walk with my gf we ended up at the other side of the park which i had no idea apple maps would lead me to this is my first gov ball so idk if this is a thing that happens a lot but going from the other side of the park to the actually festival is like a 20 minute walk so after all the traveling and walking i did all day i finally made it to the venue and i hear rocky performing stole ya flow which should be his second song on his setlist and as i finally make it to the entrance we were denied our entry saying that they closed the entrance like an hour and a half beforehand and that no matter what we werent allowed to go in, so after 4 hours of traveling by foot with my gf and all the money it took to get there and go back home PLUS the 400 for the tickets we werent even allowed in and all i heard was rocky performing outside the festival i heard that the tickets are non refundable but is there even any chance i can get to battling this? i have never heard of a venue not letting people in past a certain time and no where did it say on any official gov ball site that they close doors that early.

Terrible sore throat. Anyone else?

It was my first time attending Gov Ball and I heard the dust level this year year crazy.

I attended only one day, Sat, and my throat is still sore as hell. It feels so inflamed to the point that it's moving up to my nose from the back of the throat. But I don't really have a headache - just general fatigue, and pressure in the sinus area I guess. Festival experts, what can this be? Can dust cause a pain this long?

post-fest melancholy

This weekend was my first festival ever, and I drove a loooong way alone to get there. A lot of things went wrong for me in the prep/lead up to it, which added to the anxiety I already had about it beforehand. Looking back, it’s kinda wild how I went from feeling so nervous and anxious to it now being one of my most cherished memories ever. Much love to all the warm people I met that made the experience easier. I miss everything already!! will 100000% be back next year 💙

GA+ / VIP / PIT VIEWING

I wanna hear your 2026 thoughts!!! i know a couple things in each section was different, like GA being a bit farther back than last year, “the refresh station”,

what did you love and hate in your section??

I had backstage/ artist lounge last year, decided to opt for regular “GA” this year.
Definitely thinking about splurging next year.

Pros? Cons?

Does GA+ have noticeably better amenities (restrooms, bars, viewing areas, entry, etc.)
than GA (or VIP for the price)?
(Obviously VIP is expected to be better, but how much is it actually 🤔)

Is PIT worth giving up the VIP perks?
Any regrets from choosing one of these (GA+/VIP/PIT) over the other?

i didn’t mind GA that much this year, though i easily hit 30k steps in one day lol.

For context, I’m mostly interested in:
Good stage views (who isn’t though lmfao)

Convenience (comfort isn’t a priority if the
bathroom doesn’t have piss everywhere)

Getting the best value for the money
(again who doesn’t want this lmao, i don’t want to pay for VIP and continue to spend 30 minutes for food/drink)

when i got backstage access, it was gifted to me by a random FYI, so i literally have no clue what im looking at for 3 day VIP and i do believe it was a bit different than the current private areas (it was the artist lounge).

i appreciate all thoughts and comments from you guys :)

lets try to spread the info so we don’t get 20000 “is vip good” posts in 6 months lmao <3

until next year…

Unpopular opinion: going solo is the move

I went with friends this year and honestly no disrespect to my friends that came with me but I think I’m going alone next year lol. I met so many people that went alone this year and literally were having the times of their life. Plus I was a chump and paid for my friends wristbands which definitely hurt my wallet. Anyways, I had a great time but I think I would have a more enjoyable time going solo so I don’t have to worry about what my friends want to do. If anyone went solo this year please share your thoughts!!

Crowd always dead Sunday

Idk if it some rule at govball but at every single set I went to on sunday, people would get mad for u even dancing a little bit. Like sorry guys but this is a festival I dropped a fat paycheck on and I am not just gonna sit around. The only exceptions to this was Hot Mulligan, Geese, and Freddie Gibbs which definitely had the best crowds all day.

ESPECIALLY DURING ROCKY, people around me got mad at others and I for just jumping up and down for the song “RIOT!” y’know, the song you’re meant to get hyped for. AND I WAS LIKE FIVE ROWS AWAY FROM THE FRONT STAGE AREA LIKE WHAT!!

Idk what happened because the energy was there two years ago but if your gonna go to govball to stand around don’t be deep in the crowd and cut in just to complain that others are getting hype for an artist you larp 😭😭😭

If I’m in the wrong I’ll take that. I’ve just never seen the highschool to young adult crowd be so adamant on not getting hype and just finding their hype aura moments to record at a festival.

reddit.com

Don’t go inside the crowd for asap if your gonna

I was in vip and ngl I get the complaints when the mosh pits was opening but this white lady w her daughter im assuming and another girl, the lady was blowing my head talking about “is anyone gonna get the police” constantly, she kept judging the crowd and I had to move away from her as soon as I could, Mosh pits happen at almost every one of his concerts (ESPECIALLY FESTIVALS) so don’t be in the crowd trying to bring people’s mood down after half of them waited all day for this. (Obviously i understand some people don’t want to go through the pushing and all that, don’t understand what’s hard doing some research before going to a festival especially in nyc like hunny)

reddit.com

Was the geese crowd actually bad?

Was it actually bad in terms of moshing etiquette or did the people camping close to barricade not research the artists going on before Dominic fike?

Heard a lot of Dominic fike fans complaining but I was having a blast (even as a short woman) in the pit next to the catwalk and I didn’t feel like people were punching or anything, mostly just jumping. Everyone I encountered in the pits were just having fun and not being rude/intentionally aggressive. Honestly the most fun I’ve ever had at a show

Also assuming not terrible moshing etiquette, like someone else said here campers imo really should be researching what the earlier crowds might look like and factor that into their decision.

I lost a precious pendant of mine at govball most likely around the Verizon stage on Friday night. If anyone has found it, please let me know!! It’s a family heirloom and I would give u some $ in exchange for its return.

slayyyter won sunday

I’m sorry but there’s literally no competition. She is a PERFORMER!!! She PERFORMS!!!! she stole the show 10000%

Thoughts on Sunday GA

Arrived at around 5pm and parked at Citi Field. The porta potties there had no toilet paper.

Fine, I head towards the govball venue fully expecting toilet paper. NOPE, no toilet paper anywhere to be found! How do you run out of toilet paper 5 hours before the event is supposed to end? Also, why did most food vendors not have napkins?? WTF.

Also, the potluck club “dumplings” were horrible.

Pros

Tea Pulse drinks were very good!

The activations were pretty good and I don’t think there were long waits. I was able to get a free can of coke easily and the Dunkin refresher easily. Getting into the DoorDash activation was a life saver too because they had actual toilet paper AND it was Charmin! Plus there was a decent amount of seating there.

Only went to see JENNIE and the views were spectacular. I’ve seen Jennie at Coachella a few years back as part of their Blackpink performance as well as at Citifield for a Blackpink concert and the ticket price alone was worth it to be able to see her so well considering I was still pretty far.

I was very close to saying this was NOT worth it given the lack of basic amenities but Jennie was so good!

Didn’t really watch anyone else but maybe just a bit of Hot Mulligan and they were pretty good, never heard their music before.
