I am thinking about buying a GPD Win max 3 (when it comes out) as a work and personal laptop.

- I plan to do some AI work

- I don't play games, but might wanna play some racing games a couple of times a year.

I like how powerful the GPD Win can be for how compact it is. But what worries me is how hot it will get, and the battery life.

Can anyone please share your experience?

So basically it ends up having 4 fans? Is that right?

Would the temperature much lower with 4 fans? Or would the fan noise be much louder?

In terms of control, how often do people accidentally press keyboard keys because they are too close to the controller?

I currently have the ayaneo konkr pocket 8 elite 24 gb 1 tb but I only got it since it was the only one I could get with those specs I’m hoping there is something that hasn’t come up on my time line that’s in the works. I understand if it’s not possible with how hard it is to get ram and storage just wanna know if there is even a whisper of a similar powerful handheld with a clamshell especially since ayaneo didn’t even have a clamshell 8 elite device tho I remember there being one

Hi, I recently swapped the battery of my device, and I have to say, it works great. I have a question tho, I was wondering why, despite 3 full 10% - 85% cycles, the charge - on the displayed battery icon - won't go further than 86%. Can anyone give me a heads up? Maybe a tool that I can use? Thanks in advance.

Additional info: battery life at 98%, currently running Bazzite, BIOS updated to the latest 3.06v.

Hello everyone, i went and got a replacement for my gpd's win mini 2025's shell because it was damaged from the back... took everything apart resembled it, now im in a state where the device doesn't show any signs when pressing the power button, everything looked fine, but i mean before i didn't reseat the battery in properly and it was flashing a green and red charge indicator, but i fixed it and it went now to solid red when i plugged in my charger again, but somehow..? when pressing the power button im not receiving anything any ideas? is there anything i had missed? tbh i followed a teardown from Droix to help me through this process for the replacement but now im worried about why it's not turning on.

Is anyone using a hub or dock to charge their WIN 5 and output video simultaneously through the top USB4 port?

The dock/hub I’m using works fine when it’s charging the WIN 5 while also outputting video, as long as the system is idle. However, the charging starts cutting out whenever the system draws more than 35W.

I’ve tried different docks and hubs, but I’m still having the same issue, so I’m wondering if anyone else is experiencing the same problem.

There is no issue when I charge through the 5525 barrel connector. There is also no issue when I use the bottom USB port for display output while charging through the top USB4 port.

Has anyone else experienced this issue?

Looking to pick up a GPD Win 4, either the 8840U or HX 370 version, 32GB RAM ideally. I’ve been scouring eBay for weeks and the prices make no sense. People are asking $1,750 to $1,800 for a used HX 370 when it’s $1,199 brand new, Japanese resellers want $900+ for 6800U units, and I’ve even seen ancient Atom era GPD WINs listed near four figures. The occasional fair listing gets sniped fast.

So where do you all actually find these at reasonable prices? Is there a marketplace I’m missing, like r/hardwareswap, Discord servers, or forums? Anyone had experience with DroiX/GPDStore refurbs, or know how often those restock?

Not in a huge rush, happy to wait for the right deal. Just tired of watching eBay sellers price used units above retail. What did you pay and where did you find yours?

Had it for about 2 weeks. About 50% of the time when I put in hibernation and boot it back up, it won't resume the session. IDK what to do. Could it be the system or just a problem with Windows?

I just started using Win11, after using Win10 for a long time.

I am interested in win max3 but I dont see an ergonomic grip design and stick positions are hotizontal to the facebuttons. And if something bad happens to them, I dont know if there is even an option to fix them. I would think that detachable controller from onexplayer x2 mini gives an option for different ergonomic as I can switch to their other controller or even use tablet controller with TMR stick to prevent drifting.

I dont think I can afford Max 3 for the time being. Thinking to upgrade from Max 2 6800u. Searched online but found no benchmark comparison. Anyone know how much better it is

I found a gpd win 4 used for 800$ is that a good price for these specs?

It's my dream device! the Antec Core HS turned out to be ​such a disappointment in build quality and support longevity, and the Switch 2 I foolishly bought has shown Nintendo is only getting more evil over time. I got the chance to hold a Win 4 the other day, and my resolve was hardened.​ I can't even physically hold up the heavier devices with comparable specs​ from other manufacturers (looking at you, Lenovo)

the trouble​ is, I'm on fixed Disability income​, and can't afford the absurd scalper prices I've seen on eBay-- $2000 on average-- which is more than two months of income for me (and we're not allowed to accumulate any savings in the USA or we lose disability benefits.) And I've had search alerts set for​ months.

I email-waitlisted the refurbished units on GPD's storefront, but it seems doubtful​ they will ever restock, since the Win 5 (even without a keyboard) is being treated as the replacement.

Are there any other options to pursue, in my quest for one? thanks in advance for any leads <3​
