DGAT 07-06

So, just got home from taking DGAT. Ito iyong some observations ko:

  1. Mixed ang programs sa one classroom

  2. Magkakaiba ng set of exams per program

  3. For MBA: 1/4 was math (college level, nothing too fancy but best to have a refresher), 1/4 was data sufficiency (have a clear mind to fully understand the statements), 1/4 was reading comprehension (ikalma ang utak, read carefully), 1/4 was data correction (?) (talasan ang mata)

  4. There were 2 essays - 1 was more on defending a statement (no choice ka, panindigan mo iyong statement), 1 was getting your opinion (stock to your core values lang)

Overall, the exam was manageable but not easy ah? Best talaga if you prepare. Mabuti na iyong maraming inaral kaysa kulangin.

God bless sa ating mga nangangarap makapasok sa DLSU Graduate School! Nawa’y maging schoolmates tayo starting this September!

Taking my MBA but maybe I should also finish my MS psych?

Here’s the situation:

I took my MS in I/O Psych in DLSU from 2016-2019. Finished all coursework and passed comprehensive na. Was not able to finish my thesis. Pandemic and life happened and program was changed already.

Fast forward to 2026, I decided to do an MBA instead of finishing my thesis. Priorities and directions changed. I’m in the Ateneo-Regis Executive program.

I’m thinking of going back and finishing my thesis after my MBA. Is that still possible? Or would it need many bridging/new coursework?

Anyone with a similar experience?

WCC 👎🏻

I honestly don’t understand how an MHA program can expect quality research when there are so few standardized guidelines provided.
No standardized manuscript format. No clear research guidelines. Different advisers give different instructions, leaving students to figure everything out through trial and error.
For CQI studies, we’re told that interventions should ideally run for 3–6 months. Yet the subject itself only started a few months before graduation requirements were due. How are students realistically expected to meet that timeline?
Then comes the advising process. Papers often take weeks to be reviewed, leaving students waiting while deadlines continue to approach. It sometimes feels like you’re racing against time with very little support.

What makes it even more frustrating is being asked to pay graduation fees before the official list of eligible graduates is even released. Students are expected to commit financially without knowing whether they’ve actually met all the requirements.
An MHA program should prepare future healthcare leaders. That includes having clear expectations, consistent standards, realistic timelines, and timely academic support.

Torn between Psychologist and Psychiatrist

Question for those working in the mental health field (or anyone who’s been in the same position).

Psychology graduate ako, and until now, torn pa rin ako kung magpursue ba ako ng psychologist or psychiatrist.

I’ve always been interested in both, but realistically, financial limitations are a big factor. I’m currently working, and while I’m hoping to continue my studies, scholarships aren’t something I can fully rely on since I’m just an average student academically.

For those who chose either path:

• Why did you choose to become a psychologist instead of a psychiatrist (or vice versa)?

• Looking back, would you make the same decision again?

• What are the biggest pros and cons that people don’t usually talk about?

• Based sa experience niyo, ano ang mas worth it in the long run?

Gusto ko lang sana makarinig ng real experiences para mas magkaroon ako ng idea before deciding. 💙

UPM NGOHS Results

Hello, fellow UPM grad school applicants. May results na ba kayo? I’ve heard that other applicants received surveys/questionnaires to answer. Then, ARAL can’t be accessed pa as of the moment. 😖

MA Psych while working full time

Hi! I recently got accepted in the MA Psych program in Ateneo.

Can anyone tell me if feasible ba to have a full-time onsite job while pursuing my MA? I currently work and live in BGC, Taguig. Initially I planned to leave my work and pursue MA full time, but at the same time I realized I don’t want to leave my job yet so I’m thinking if ok lang ba na ipagsabay ko siya sa work.

DLSU or ADMU?

For context, I applied to M Marketing Comms (MMC) at DLSU (still waiting for the results) and to MA Comms at ADMU (I got in!).

Two different programs, but under almost the same branch. I know MMC is more on the practical side, while MA Comms is more research- and academe-oriented.

But still, I’m curious—what’s in it for me? I need testimonies about the two, kasi I’m honestly torn. I don’t know which is more “worth it” in terms of academic load, class size, environment, professors, curriculum, long-term benefit, etc.

I don’t know if I should risk deferring my admission to Ateneo (July 4 kasi deadline to confirm) so* *I can wait for the release of my DGAT results (first week of August pa).
