PSA: Behr cans are not even worth racking.

PSA: Behr cans are not even worth racking.

The colors I have tried have been super inconsistent in opacity and take forever to dry. Stock caps suck and it's a male can. Worst offender so far has been the yellow. The name on the can felt like it was mocking me.

Has anyone tried those rusto art cans?

Which one do you prefer?

I made these four simple characters. Which one do you like best? Maybe I can use them in the future.

Got my feet wet, but never went for a full swim.

Long story short, I’ve always been into lettering and characters. Tagged a bit in highschool (late 80’s), been skateboarding my whole life, but never really had a crew to write or paint with. Now I do traditional sign painting and pinstrips as a hobby and commissions side gig, but have been thinking about putting up a wall in my backyard to get some can control in. I do use a lot of rattle can paint for base layers on my signs, so it wouldn’t be too much to get some practice in. So here is some sketches I’ve doodled around with. I don’t really have a constant tag, but Ive been doing Gnarfield, from Garfield comics and was always stoked on Slap skate mag, so I played around with that for a while too. Any critique is appreciated. Thanks for lurking

My 16 year old has been getting into graffiti art. What markers or such can I buy to work them up to spray paint

They've mentioned an interest in trying more pasco markers and fat tip markers but I've never tagged myself. What can I buy to help get them up to spray paint and larger artwork. They've always had great art talent. I'm trying to support it best I can and don't mind spending a few dollars on some good markers and such as they get better.

Here's some of their tags where they're at. "Salmon"

any crits / color suggestions?

had a lot of fun doing an actual detailed blackbook piece, gonna have to practice a bunch before actually putting it on a wall but i wanna know how i did

Woody and Buzz

Basic straight letter and I don’t have anyone else to ask if I’m practicing well. I took percussion in school, and I had classes and instructors to help me learn rudiments, and I got pretty good at it lol. It feels like learning this is really similar, but I don’t have that percussion feedback. Is it, just write this alphabet hundreds of times to find my hand style? What should I be paying attention to when doing this exercise? Am I supposed to be actively thinking about each line? Is it like a flow state, analyze and react to movement thing?

What do I need to be focusing on right now?

I’d appreciate some help

Any tips, changes or crits for my tags?

Pretty new to graff, love practicing but I need some advice on what to focus on. Got a chisel tip marker to try some stuff out

Letter flow.

I kinda srttle into thr same style over and over again.

I struggle to ever break the orientation of my letters, the bars are always pretty rigid and take the same stance.
