August 13th, 1914- Carl Wickman founds Greyhound Bus Lines by shuttling miners between home and work in a 7-seat Hupmobile, sometimes stuffing 15 passengers at a time.

 After losing his job as a drill operator at a nearby mine, Wickman started selling a seven-seat Hupmobile. When he couldn’t sell it, he repurposed it to carry iron-ore miners from Hibbing to the mine at Alice for 15 cents a ride.
