[Review][Negative] kratosdesigngroup.com

I purchased a suppressor alignment rod. It seems to be fine. What irks me is that Kratos is sending me marketing emails, which I did not consent to receive, and which have no clear way to unsubscribe.

I'm annoyed because they include the standard "you opted in on our website" message at the bottom and no button to unsubscribe, and I've reached out to demand to be taken off their list with no luck.

I will never buy from a company that considers it fine to deceive and gaslight their customers and punish their patronage with spam. I get that email spam is commonplace, but it took real effort for Kratos to set up their marketing efforts. This is no mere oversight. We should expect better from vendors.

I needed a couple of items to finish setting up a new Sig Rattler LT SBR build, and Dan at Fiddlers was a big help. He got me a solid price on an Eotech, a Surefire scout light and a switch/tailcap combo. Awesome customer service, good price, fast shipping.

All I had to do was drop them an email and I got squared away in no time. 10/10 vendor, will absolutely buy from them again.

[Review][Negative] Guns.com

I ordered a brand new Colt Single Action Army (P1870) from Guns.com for about $2600 before tax and shipping. I inspected it as soon as it arrived and refused the transfer because it came with deep turn lines in the cylinder around the notches, scratching all the way through the bluing. They looked wider and rougher than any revolver turn lines I've ever seen. This was cosmetically one of the worst condition 3rd Gen Colts that I've seen, new or used, and it looked like someone had been frequently working the action incorrectly and dragging the bolt across the side of the cylinder. At least to me, this was not acceptable for a "factory new" gun. I bought this as a collectible and paid a premium for it because this is a Colt, and it can be hard to find new ones at "decent" prices.

It took me 3 return inquiry attempts over a few days to get in touch with Guns.com customer service for an RMA, and they don't have a human being you can call on the phone anymore. Their phone customer service is now completely automated. I sent them photos of the finish damage and they said these scratches were normal for a new gun. They also said that I "abandoned" the gun at my FFL, when I actually refused transfer of a gun that came in unacceptable condition.

Here's what they said from their gunsmith inspection:

"Our team has thoroughly reviewed your concerns. After inspection, our gunsmith confirmed that there were no signs of excessive wear, finish damage, or timing issues on the firearm. The minor cylinder scratches present are considered normal from the rotation mechanism and not out of the ordinary for this model. In fact, the cylinder’s tight lock-up is a positive sign of quality craftsmanship."

They agreed to take the gun back but would keep a 15% restocking fee and other fees, totalling over $400 for this gun. I argued that this was unacceptable condition for a brand new Colt, that the cylinder marks devalued the gun as a collectible, and pointed out that Colt sells discounted blemished examples in much better condition. I also explained that handling a Colt-style action "correctly" won't put these scratches on the cylinder unless the gun is out of time, but they didn't seem to care or listen.

I understand that Guns.com is a marketplace for connected FFLs to sell their stock, and this looked like a shop-worn and abused example that was listed by a dealer as a new gun.

There's been some more back and forth for over a week with me showing them other examples of numerous factory-new and used examples in acceptable condition, all without deep cylinder scratches, but they still argue that this was a brand new gun in acceptable condition and they won't budge on the $400+ of return fees. Most of their replies have been generic boilerplate scripts. They have had the gun back in their possession for over a week and I have not gotten a cent of my money back yet. I have since opened a dispute with my credit card company and filed a complaint with the BBB.

I DO NOT recommend Guns.com for purchasing collectible or expensive firearms. It has been a nightmare to return and get my money back, even though I refused the transfer and did things by the normal procedure. I don't trust them to hold their dealers accountable when sending poor-condition firearms, and they'll just try to collect huge fees on the return. My feelings about return fees are different if it was a change-of-mind return, but the gun came not-as-described.

Really great folks as usual. Missed out on the killer deal Revival Defense had on BCM T2 kits and caught a setup a week or two later from Lanbos.

Ordered a few extra magazines on the 28th, prior to the VA tyrant laws going into effect. Sent me a message yesterday saying they would not ship and were holding my order until they could figure out what to do in lieu of the recent injunction from the judge.

Put in an order on 06/27 for an OD green HK Mark 23 that was listed at $1899.99. On Monday 06/29, I check the tracker on the website and saw that the entire order disappeared. I emailed support that day and was told on 06/30 that it was a “pricing error” and that they cancelled my order. They then raised the price on it to $2699.99.

0 notification from them, I had to find out by asking them. Also $1899.99 isn’t an outrageous price for a Mark 23. I think they just didn’t want to honor the original price.

TLDR: Received rifle case with damaged latch, lanbos immediately shipped out a new one.

So the second rifle case they sent also came broken, this time, the case itself was cracked.

It's pretty obvious it is Fedex mishandling the package, as it's 52" long cardboard box, unwieldy and doesn't have handles. You essentially have to bear hug it to move it around.

Texted lanbo's, at this point they've already sent two cases for the price of one and honestly didn't know how much more they could help me.

I mentioned that I bought the case for a flight and regret the purchase, if the case can't handle shipping, how could it handle being chucked around by airport staff?

Here's their response:

"I am very sorry about all this \[unrelated info removed\]. I will get a full refund issued right away. You shouldn't have to go out of your way to do so, but is it possible to remove the latch from this broken one and place it on the old one to at least get you through your trip?

We have only sold 9 of this exact case, but we have sold thousands of Plano products and this is only the second time we have ever had an issue reported."

So here's the deal with drop ship companies. They build a site, set a margin and start advertising.

Some of these companies essentially become marketing companies....

You can tell by the minimalist website that Lanbo's Armory isn't a marketing company, but is instead a customer service company.

10/10

Why would anyone buy from anyone else?

I snagged one of their grade German A P226s two days ago and it showed up at my FFL today. The condition is better than I expected, and it came with a LE/MIL marked magazine so that's pretty cool.

Shipping is very fast considering I placed the order Tuesday afternoon, received a tracking number within the hour and have the P226 in hand today.

Overall, a good experience with this seller!

[Review][Positive]WISTransfers.com

This is another site that I check daily and have found that besides getting great service, the product definitely lives up to their rating. Their LE Sales deals that I participated in were as described and the Used non-LE handgun deals I got from them looked new. The G17.4 that I just picked up was in fantastic shape (it did not have the backstraps with it BUT I got exactly what they showed it would have on their site (a case and 2 mags) so I knew that going into the deal). Keep an eye on their emails as they will tell you when they have savings codes in place.

Seller advertised sale as a "luck-of-the-draw". Then proceeds to take special requests in the comments. I proceed to call the business out on it. He basically tells me that he took money for the backdoor deal. Nowhere in the ad stated that special requests could be made for $X or any kind of hand pick fee.

This isn't a review of product received but review of the bad business practices, false advertisement and back door deals.
