Hi, in november it will be very probable to see godspeed live for the first time, and i don't know if i should wear something in my ears, i''m very excited to see them and it will be my first post rock concert so any suggestions will be received (pd. Sorry for my english, it's not my primary language)
There's a record store near where I go to college. They had copies of Luciferian Towers, no title, and state's end. Only bought Luciferian towers and after listening to it, I decided I didn't love it. Fast forward to two days ago, I listened to Baby's in a thundercloud for the first time. I regret my purchase.
Also ended up buying some other CDs too:
TOOL - Ænima
Miles Davis - Kind of Blue
Queens of the stone age - Rated R
Stereolab - Instant holograms on metal film
Can - Future Days
The only video I found of them performing any of the songs from this album was of storm and even then I’m pretty sure they only played half of it. Does anyone know why this is?
Tried Recording a Bass Cover, But It Sounded Bad. So, Here I Am.
From All Lights Fucked. I'm listening through it for the first time right now, and this track stands out to me. IDK it's just kinda interesting listening to this weird little convo. Anyone know where it's from?
Was curious cuz it seems like in YouTube it’s always still images and audio from shows they did over 20 years ago. Speaking of which have they ever played it post hiatus? I’ve seen them on YouTube play monheim during this most recent tour cycle but never the 2nd half of sleep
Edit:title should say “physically”
I love her so much :)! She got me this super well made thingy, it’s like a cassette shaped recorder and it has a very heartfelt message with a little song in the background as she speaks (not an actual Godspeed song though). It turned out beautiful and I lover her. By the way, the Hebrew reads I Love You, and so does the Chinese. DyE are our initials. The crossed out text is my name.
Idk why but this album feels very underrated, it's one of the most flawless albums they have done.
I'm curious, does anybody know whether GY!BE's working on a new album/EP? I saw a rumor that they were going to make a new album right after finishing this year's tours. Can anybody confirm the legitimacy of this, or add onto it?
Also a quick clarification: GY!BE does not always road-test their music. No Title wasn't road tested (according to other posts), so the lack of new material during their concerts does not disprove the idea of an upcoming album.
A spacey track inspired by the Artemis II mission, a Godspeed You! Black Emporor cover, and a dynamic track featuring an amazing violinist!
I'm aware that a glockenspiel was used during the Paradiso show in Amsterdam on 2002-04-18 . Did they use one during any of their other shows? Thanks!
Is the interview actually a thing and if so is there a link of it?
This might be kind of dumb I'm sorry I have just seen A LOT of different comments about it.
