I'm not sure how to put the words into context, but guys, is it just me, or are there others who couldn't enjoy yanqui U.X.O. at all?

I tried it more than once in a while and I just can't get into it, yet on the other hand I can say that ALLELUJAH is the second masterpiece that I've been waiting for after enjoying LYSFLITH, I just can't get enough of it.

Any thoughts on why YANQUI is unenjoyable?

Tried to made them look as something similar to some of the album covers of the band.

I used black and red fabric markers and made this Lift Yr. Skinny Fists shirt, hope someone finds it mildly cool.

It was so fabulous, now it's shrunk down to almost nothing, you see, I still remember, in my mind how things used to be. And-ah you know I feel very bad. But people from all over the world came here, from all over the world. There was a playground they called the playground of the worlds, over here. Anyways, so but I-ah you know. i even got, when I was very small I even got lost in Coney Allen. But they found me. On the beach. And we used to sleep on the beach here, sleep over night. They don't do it anymore.. things changed. They dont sleep anymore on the beach...

A while ago, I heard Slow Riot for New Zerø Kanada, but unfortunately, I just don't think I get it? Many people consider it to be a highlight of GYBE's career, but to me, it sort of felt like epic instrumental rock without any real buildup? Like, I think I get the appeal of GYBE in general, but unfortunately, neither track on Slow Riot really had a satisfying conclusion to me specifically. It's still solid but not what I expected with all the praise it receives. The mediocre experience I had with the album really turned me off of GYBE for a while, but a few weeks ago, I heard F♯ A♯ ∞ and it was genuinely one of the absolute greatest things I had ever heard, and now I'm left a bit confused? I went back to Slow Riot many times, but I still don't think I get why many people praise it so heavily or call it the best introductory album to Godspeed?

I apologize if this post seems overly negative, as I want to emphasize that I don't think Slow Riot for New Zerø Kanada is a bad Album/EP by any means (I still thought it was solid just not amazing like F♯ A♯ ∞), but I am coming from a place of genuine curiosity as to why people seem to like it so much. I do understand that it is entirely possible that Slow Riot just isn't for me, and that's ok, but I think knowing a bit more about the album might let me understand why it's so beloved on another listen :)

So, what are your guy's thoughts on Slow Riot for New Zerø Kanada?
