Has anyone actually seen results from pumpkin seed oil or micro needling for hair growth?

I’ve been seeing a lot of discussion around using pumpkin seed oil and micro needling for hair growth, and I’m considering adding them to my routine.

For those who have used either consistently for 3+ moths:

Did you notice actual length or density growth, or mostly just reduced shedding?

How often do you apply the oil or micro needle, and what needle length worked best for you?

Any side effects like scalp irritation or extra buildup or tips for someone starting out?

6 moths of consistent scalp care, what worked for me

Just wanted to share a quick update on my growth journey over the last 6 months

What worked are:

  1. Rosemary oil and scalp massages: massaging my scalp for 5 minutes before bed and using diluted rosemary oil 2x a week made a noticeable difference in reducing shedding and encouraging new baby hairs.

  2. Silk pillowcases and protective styles: Switching to silk pillowcases and wearing loose braids to bed drastically cut down on friction, split ends, and morning tangles.

  3. Clarifying shampoo monthly: clearing out product buildup on my scalp helped create a much healthier environment for growth.

What didn’t work:

Heavy oils left overnight, and over washing my hair

2.5 month growth from buzzcut! Give me hope! To

Just wanted to share my buzzcut growth after 2.5 months (I think it was shaved with a 2 guard?). The last pic is me maybe a week after I shaved it, so I was nowhere near completely bald but still a buzz cut. I’ve been trying my best to feel confident and style it the best I can but it’s hard sometimes. Anyways, just wanted to share with others wondering about growth and would love to know when people started seeing their waves/ curls come out, for those of you who have curly hair 😊

Hair density is misunderstood.

HAIR DENSITY is misunderstood. You cannot change hair density. Products claiming to are misleading and take advantage of your lack of hair chemistry knowledge.

HAIR DENSITY is the number of individual hair strands growing on your scalp. It’s measured low to high by how close your hair follicles are to each other. You cannot create new follicles on your scalp unless you get a hair transplant. "Hair density" products are marketed with a claim they can't deliver. At most, these products can improve hair TEXTURE, thickening the individual strands you have.

HAIR TEXTURE is how thick the actual strand is. Hair texture (which most confuse with hair type) is measured from fine, medium to course.

HAIR TYPE is how straight, wavy, curly to coily hair is.

How do I grow and make my hair healthier

Ik my hair is horrendous as it is and I recently want to fix that. I know for sure that I need a haircut lol but I have low porosity hair and it never grows farther than how it is now. I want to have longer healthier hair and I have no idea what products I should use and what routine I should follow. The ends are bleached so ik they have to go but how far up should I cut? I used to sleep with wet hair which I now know is disgusting. I shed like crazyy oh and i’ve recently got a water softener. If anyone has products recommendations that would be amazing.

Small daily habit changes that actually helped my hair growth

I used to think my hair was stuck at a certain length until i realized my daily habits were causing constant breakage. Here are my three simple changes that made a big difference for length retention.

First gentle drying, swapped rough terry cloth towels for a soft cotton T-shirt or microfiber towel to cut down on friction.

Low-tension styles, switched tight elastics for claw clips and satin scrunches to protect my hairline and crown from snapping.

Moisture focus, layered a lightweight leave in conditioner before sealing ends to keep them flexible instead of brittle.

Consistency and gentleness go long way

How Do You Manage Hair Fall When You Can't Control Your Environment?

I moved into a hostel for work about 6 months ago and between the different water, the mess food, and honestly just less sleep than I used to get, my hair has taken a serious hit. I don't have a lot of control over my environment right now, so is there something simple I can add to my routine that doesn't depend on fixing everything else first?

my bloodwork came back "normal" but my hair is still falling out. Anyone else been told this?

i'm 61f. My hair has been coming out for about two years now and it's gotten to the point where I can see my scalp in the mirror under the bathroom light. Went to my GP finally. She ran labs, called me a week later and said everything looked normal and it's probably just my age. That was the whole conversation. Maybe four minutes. But I'm still losing it. I don't understand how everything can be "normal" when this is happening.

Has anyone else been told their labs were fine and then found out later something actually was off? I keep reading about thyroid and ferritin and I don't even know if she checked those or just did the basic panel. I feel stupid for not asking more questions at the time but I was honestly just trying not to cry in the office.

Did you push for more testing? Did you go somewhere else? I don't know if I'm chasing something that isn't there or if I gave up too easily.

Immense hairfall

27F here. I have extreme hairfall where hair is just popping out of root completely. If I am sitting on a chair- the chair will have hair stuck.

What to do? How to cure? What might be the reason? Has anyone been in similar situation?

Hair length

My hair seems to have stopped growing past a certain length. I did a little searching on Reddit, but it seems I haven't found exactly what I was looking for yet. I cut my hair when I was 12. Back then, my hair was four inches past my shoulder. I’d been letting it grow since I was 5, only trimming the ends once or twice a year. I cut it just above my shoulders, and immediately started growing it out again afterward. Or at least, I tried to. I got it back to that length when I was 14, and since then it hasn’t grown any longer. Even though you could say it grew along with my body to stay at that length, that doesn’t work anymore. Just to remind you, I’m 19 and my hair is still the same length. I already trim it half a time a year (just the ends), and I wash my hair once a week with a natural product (but I feel like it’s getting slightly shorter every year). I can’t really comb it because it’s wavy/curly at the ends. I’ve also never used heat on it. I dye it with henna twice a year. My hair tends to be pretty dry, so I try to moisturize it once a month. I just apply a light cream to my curls after shampooing (I always lose so much hair while conditioning!).I bought some hair oil and tried using it for three weeks, but then I stopped because I kept forgetting, and it made my hair way too greasy without any visible change. In the end, I don’t even style my hair in any way that might damage it—I mostly just put it up in a clip during the day. I’m so desperate (and also so jealous of people who are clearly growing their hair out). I feel like I should add that all the other hair on my body is growing normally. Please, I’m so desperate!!! It would be really nice to get some advice or an explanation. Have a great day ;)

I can’t tell if I need to wait to trim

I have a fine, wavy hair texture and am doing my best to grow it out. But I can’t tell if I need to wait to get a trim or if I truly have some breakage. Can anyone help? 😖 (Sorry if the pictures aren’t the best quality)

how long will it take for my curly hair to grow back?

I got a haircut about a week ago to get better shape in my hair, and cut off dead ends. But now i really regret the cut and want my old hair length back. How long will it take?
I’ll start oiling my ends daily and massage my scalp daily. I usually wash my hair twice a week.

The first two pictures are of my hair now, and the other two were before the cut.
