How do I fix my damaged hair and grow beautiful long hair instead?

Hi! I am 25 F and need hair advice.

In high school I was bleach blonde, but my hair was sooo healthy.

Then I dyed it brown, and it was even better. I never put any heat on it, just let it do its thing.

Then I started curling it with a heat tool multiple times a day for like 2 years… and box dying it dark red/brown.

Anyway, my hair feels (naturally) pretty damaged and it is so dry and looks bad when I don’t heat style it. I want to grow it out long and healthy like how it used to be, but I can’t tell which products are hurting and which are helping.

Overall, I know I need to stop putting heat on it. Aside from that - what are some tips for healing damaged hair, and growing long healthy hair fast?

I have a silk pillowcase, I use Olaplex shampoo and conditioner. I’ve tried a bunch of oils and moisturizers, but I have pretty thin hair and sometimes I feel like the products make my hair look worse?

Also - is it better to sleep with your hair down, up, does it matter?

Any/all tips appreciated!!!

[Help] I completely ruined my hair one year ago with bleach. The re-growth is slow and is affecting me.

Hey! I was wondering if someone could give me any tips for hair growth/any hope about growing my hair out to what it used to be.

The first three photos are the before. I had beautiful thick long hair. Then something possessed me the bleach it. It has been a year since then and I have lost so so much confidence in my appearance because of my hair. I know it’s only hair but still.

The last photos are my hair now. I’ve tried cutting as much of the bleach out as I could and now I’m left with short choppy layers. I feel like I can’t get a break from this bad hair and am so annoyed with myself for bleaching it one year ago!!

Has anyone been through this to come out good hair? How long did it take? How long will it take from now to get back to my original hair? What should I do in my hair care routine to speed up growth? I would really appreciate any advice anyone has. Thank you

What made your hair grow like crazy ?

Help a girl out , I got a balayage 3+ years ago and my hair has never been the same as before. I want to grow it down to my hips like it used to be when I was a teen. But I got a lot of hair loss from the balayage bleach and now my hair went from straight to this wavy texture and the new growth is also wavy…

Comment faire pousser mes cheveux

Bisous 💋

Feeling defeated, trim time again

Every time I try to dedicate growing out my hair, it gets damaged beyond my shoulders. I baby it. I sleep in bonnets and silk pillowcases. I take iron supplements. I try to eat healthy, get enough sleep. But every time without fail I end up having to cut all my progress off.

I do have trichotillomania and I play with the ends a lot, rarely pulling, but I am touching my hair a lot. Could this be why?

Help me feel better about this 😭 I already made a cut appt for 2 weeks from now to probably take at least 4".

rapid body growth

(Male, 21 y/o) This doesn't at all include my height FYI. I'm wondering if anyone else has hair and nails that grow extremely fast. The hair on my scalp, my facial hair, my fingernails and toenails grow extremely fast. Sometimes needing to trim my hair, and cut my nails every other day.

It's not an issue at all I'm just curious if someone else around my age deals with this too?

(can't find a proper subreddit for nails)

Is there any merit to any of these 'hair growth means', such as vitamin gummies or oils?

Hi there, I'm a 25-year old male and I already notice that my hairline is slowly receding. Wanting to act on that early, I looked for possible solutions online and stumbled upon a whole bunch of products that promise "stronger hair and hair growth", and even regeneration of hair at times. Now, this all seems a bit too good to be true, but I can't really find conclusive information on whether all of these products are just scams or if there actually ARE ways to combat genetically induced hair loss.

Does anyone here have experience with these products or perhaps knows more about the 'science' behind them? Are they useless or is it actually possible to save your hair by just... eating two vitamin gummies and smearing ointments on your scalp every day?

Just waiting for my hair to fall out from a medication

My medication says it takes 3-6 months until you start to see hair fall and I am in month 2. I am just patiently waiting until my hair starts to fall out. I’m honestly terrified because it’s supposedly really bad. I can’t switch this medication though. Any tips? I can’t take biotin.

Ponytail measuring

Have anyone measured their ponytail over months to see if it’s getting thicker? When did you start to see thickness increasing? mine has stayed the same for 8 months.

‼️15mo-old with extremely sparse hair, eyelashes, & eyebrows, despite visible follicles and normal blood work‼️BALD BABY GIRL ‼️

Hi moms ❤️

I’m looking to see if anyone has had a child with a similar experience.

My daughter was born with very little hair. Most of it fell out during her first 3 months, and now she is 15 months old and still has extremely sparse hair — I would estimate around 90 hairs on her entire scalp.

We have seen a dermatologist, and according to the doctor, the hair follicles are present and visible. The scalp doesn’t appear scarred, and there seems to be potential for hair growth, but very little hair is actually growing.

Her eyelashes and eyebrows are also very sparse. They are present, but there are only a few of them.

She has a history of eczema and cow’s milk protein allergy. We have also done blood tests, including thyroid function and vitamin levels, and everything came back normal.

One dermatologist suggested a possible explanation: that there may have been pressure on her neck while I was pregnant, causing reduced blood flow to the scalp, and then a sudden increase in blood flow after she was delivered by C-section. However, no other doctor has agreed with or mentioned this theory, so I’m not sure whether it makes medical sense.

Has anyone had a child with very delayed hair growth like this? Especially if they also had eczema, allergies, or sparse eyelashes and eyebrows?

Did the hair eventually start growing later on? I would really appreciate hearing any similar experiences. ❤️

Thank you so much.
