What EXACT hair should I buy for this Bora Bora/Mermaid braid look? Human hair recommendations please!

I’ve been going down a rabbit hole trying to figure out exactly what hair I need to buy, and I’m hoping someone who’s had this style done can help.

Are these called Bora Bora braids, Mermaid braids, or something else? I keep seeing different names.

Here are my inspo pics:
Soft, flowing look with only a handful of braids around the face (not a full head of knotless braids).
Long, loose wet-and-wavy texture.
Waist or Butt length.

I haven’t decided whether I’m going with the darker version or the honey blonde version yet.

My questions:
What exact type of human hair should I order?
Deep Wave?
Water Wave?
Ocean Wave?
Wet & Wavy?
Something else?

What brand actually works?
(I’m okay with Amazon or a quality hair company if it’s worth it.)
100% human hair only.
I want to be able to wear it in the water and have it still look soft and natural.

How many bundles/packs would I need for butt-length hair with this style?
What length(s) would you recommend?
26”? 28”? 30”?

If you’ve had this exact look, what would you buy again and what would you avoid?

I’m trying to avoid spending hundreds on the wrong hair, so I’d love recommendations from people who’ve actually worn this style. Photos and links are definitely appreciated!

Thanks!!

Pride locs for the gworls

Just a little razzle dazzle for pride last weekend! This was a fun look but frustrating as hell to install😂😂😂

I used bandanas last year though so this was a lot lighter. Yall like? 👀 Also, anybody else have pride styles they can share? I found NONE while browsing around so just went with what I know 🌈🌈

Alt Black Hairstylists?

Does anyone know of any alt Black hairstylists? Or honesty just good hairstylists in general, that also work with natural hair (not just braids)? I'm desperate pls😭🙏🏾

Braided wig switch up

Taking this braided wig boho bob for another spin with a center part and different styling approach. After wetting, adding leave-in and curl cream, I used my diffuser for more defined curls and volume instead of letting her air dry, which gave more of a wash-and-go look. The volume from using the diffuser makes the smaller braided section (5”x5”) blend in more with the overall unit.

Included some extra pics from the side and back to show the shape. 🫶🏽

She’s definitely growing on me and the color is making me feel like *that girl*, especially when combined with a little makeup. I can’t get enough of these braided wigs - being able to switch it up without needing a stylist is the best, especially since I don’t have many options for braiders where I live.

Need an opinion for one of my black oc's hairdos

Hey fellas, coming here after being suggested to, I have a set of characters that include 4 kids (12 to 14 years of age), and one of them is a young black girl. When I designed her hair, however, I drew something that I genuinely can't tell if I hallucinated the existence of or if it's a real hairdo, but all my DAYS I swear I've seen it before (I live in South Africa, I would assume this is probably something I've seen at least once and had just stayed in my subconscious up until I made Quinn lmao)

I can't supply an image rn so bare with me

It's similar to a flat top, but the sides of her head aren't shaved. The top of the style is less ACTUALLY flat and moreso bouncy or fluffy (depicted with some rounded shapes for cartoonism). It's bordered off with a yellow, thick aliceband and there's some loose curls that stick out underneath said aliceband, but in a way that's really cute (imo)

While the look is basically sisters with the Flat top, I can't help but worry there's something, like.. stereotypical? About it? It doesn't help that I never looked up a reference image for this or anything (I never really use references for.. like, anything ever) so I'm also just hoping that this isn't a caricature of an african hairstyle, yknow? If anyone could help me out, that would be awesome

Dar dreads

I want my dreads a similar size to goodguydar, the guy in the picture, but dude acts so mysterious I cant find a clear image of him to show my loctician (I'm so tired of rappers acting like this).

Does anyone have a better picture of him, or, if any loctician are seeing this, are either of these photos clear enough to do someone's hair based off of?

I'm really loving my current protective style

Compared to getting braids done, crochet hair feels so much lighter. It doesn't feel like it's pulling on my scalp at all, and I feel like my own braids underneath are actually being protected instead of stressed.

I also love the volume. I've never been able to get curls this defined on my natural hair, but this honestly feels like my hairstyle now.
