Hey everyone!

I’ve been living in Hamburg for around 6–8 months now, and since I moved here I’ve been trying to find a really good barber. I’ve been to a few different places, but unfortunately I haven’t had a great experience so far.

The main problem is that either they don’t fully understand what I’m asking for, or even when they do, the haircut doesn’t turn out the way I want. There’s also a bit of a language barrier, which makes it harder to explain exactly what I’m looking for.

So I’m looking for recommendations for a really good barber in Hamburg who actually takes time to understand what the customer wants and knows how to do a proper haircut.

Even better, if anyone knows an Indian or Pakistani barber in Hamburg who speaks Urdu/Hindi/Punjabi, I’d really appreciate the recommendation. Being able to explain everything in my own language would make things much easier.

I don’t mind travelling anywhere in Hamburg if the barber is genuinely good.

1. Self-Guided Nature Days (€0): Heading to places like Stadtpark, Elbstrand, or Planten un Blomen with a blanket, a journal, and zero plans. Just sitting by the water or taking a slow, phone-free walk goes a surprisingly long way.

2. Outdoor Somatic & Movement Classes (€0–€16): An instructor named Anna runs outdoor somatic movement/release sessions in the park focused on gentle movement and grounding. The first session is free (and they’re covered if you happen to have Urban Sports Club), or €16 a pop. Search for her sessions on Luma if you're interested.

3. Men’s Circle & Reflection Group (€0): There’s a free men-only gathering focused on grounding, honest conversation, and emotional release (yes, including crying if you need to). It’s completely free, you just need to RSVP on Luma ahead of time.

4. The Well'Derness Mental Health Evenings (€16): Hosted by two local mental health professionals for women, these evening meetups combine sound baths, guided journaling, and light snacks. At €16 including materials, it's one of the most accessible group wellness events I've seen in the city. You can search for "The Well'Derness" on Luma if you want to sign up.

I’m currently living in Wandsbek, and honestly, I don’t really have any friends or people I know here yet. 😅 Making new friends has been a little difficult because my German is still at A1, but I also speak English and Russian, so communication shouldn’t be a problem.
I’m looking for long-term friendships, not just someone to chat with once and disappear. I’m pretty open-minded and always down for some kind of adventure — going for walks, exploring Hamburg, grabbing some food or coffee, watching movies, gaming, going to events, or just hanging out and talking.
I also recently started going to the gym, so I’d definitely be happy to find a gym buddy too. 💪

wir sind aktuell zu dritt, alle in unseren 30ern, und werden diesen Samstag um 17 Uhr in den neuen Spiderman im Kinopolis in der Hafencity gehen. Haben aktuell ein Ticket über und suchen wen, der Lust hat mitzukommen. Wir schauen den Film im DBox Format, heißt mit bewegungsintensiven Kinosesseln. Sollte bei dem Film schon Laune machen.
