I (28F) have just shifted to Hamburg and I'm looking for a reading community for English readers.

More importantly, I would prefer flexibility regarding how much I'm expected to read in a given time frame because I don't want to turn reading into yet another chore.

I have been part of book clubs where I could just join a discussion without having read something entirely, even just as an observer. And I'm looking for a similar space where I can absorb knowledge in my own time instead of having this pressure to finish reading.

I'm mostly a serious reader, and my favorite genres are philosophical and political fiction. However, I would love some new exposure too as long as the reading material has some substance. I know this is highly subjective but thought it's worth mentioning.

ich M26 bin letztes Jahr nach Hamburg gezogen und konnte bis heute meinen Freundeskreis nicht wieder so aufbauen wie in meiner Heimatstadt. Das finde ich schade, weshalb ich hier einen Versuch starte.

Ich bin sehr sozial, gesund extrovertiert und offen für sportliche chillige Aktivitäten wie Spikeball oder Volleyball, Spieleabende, gemeinsames kochen, spazieren oder eine Runde Tischtennis mit Spaßgetränk zocken.

Ich bin ein cooler, entspannter Typ und kann mich gut unterhalten. Gerne joine ich auch bestehenden Gruppen, offen für alles.

Da ich in Hoheluft mit meiner Freundin wohne, wäre es nice hier in der Gegend Leute zu finden, schließt aber nicht alle anderen aus.

I’m 27 and made the move to Hamburg back in October 2025. Still very much in that “I know the U-Bahn map better than I know any actual humans here” phase, so I figured it’s time to fix that.
I’m looking for genuine friendships and people to share the city with. Honestly up for almost anything: a long coffee that turns into a three-hour conversation, getting lost somewhere along the Elbe, hunting down the best ramen / döner / questionable late-night snack, random walks when the weather actually cooperates, concerts, markets, or just hanging out with no agenda.
I also speak a few languages: French, Spanish, and Dutch, so I’d be really happy to meet some internationals. There’s something great about a friend group where everyone brings a different language, food, and story to the table.
