I have the same exact problem as Tig with this phrase. I still struggle to say “bud” instead of “butt” and always slow down as I say it, wondering if I’m about to embarrass myself.

What are other phrases you struggle with?

When I was young, my parents would say “six of one, dozen of the other.” Lol. It never made sense

i’ve heard rumors that mae looks at this sub some and i wanted to recommend to them (and anyone else trying to limit their socials/screen time) the app opal!

in february of this year, i deleted all socials on my phone for the month. it did wonders for my attention span, the hobbies i actually WANT to spend time with, and my sleep. my month detox really helped break the addiction i had formed. unfortunately, it just isn’t practical for me to be completely offline permanently. it’s how i learn about events happening in my city and frankly, a girl likes to post! so i needed a different solution for the long term.

introducing opal! this app will block apps of your choosing for time periods of your choosing. like the iphone “app timers,” it prevents the app from opening when you click on it. but unlike the timers, where you can turn them off with a quick button, you have to open opal, go through a quick breathing exercise or math game (depending on your setting preferences), and then take a break for 1-15 minutes maximum. so if you do need to access your blocked apps, you can do so at any time. there is a pro version that provides meditations and other addiction breaking resources, but i have found the free version does everything i need it to.

currently, i have a 9-5 work block, a 9:30-11 pm night block to keep me from doom scrolling into putting off my bedtime, and a weekend 7 am to 10 am block to keep me from scrolling in bed until ive wasted away my morning. its transformed my relationship with my phone & my social media.

After the Mae's Dad episode, in as uncreepy of a way as possible, I desperately want to see Mae's house. I'm envisioning a Looney Toons style C shaped cliff where there's just a tiny thread of completely unsupported land jutting out at the top, and Mae's house teetering on the edge.

Mae has casually mentioned Parvati and her daughter pretty regularly since Mae revealed they made out with someone in their car and Tig was not surprised. I know they could easily just be friends… but do you think they are back together? (Or perhaps just casually since Mae has been on tour?)

Anyone go to Mae’s Boston show and remember what animal oracle/tarot card was pulled? Im thinking it was a wolf- 🧙🏼this is weirdly important to me and I’m not sure how I didn’t write it down to do a deep dive later- prob the excitement 💫

Eagles are definitely all over up here. Depending on where you are they might be similar in quantity to pigeons elsewhere, although not everywhere. They are also trash birds, as in you see the most eagles in the Anchorage area at the dump.

I just came here to say I discover new reasons to love Fortune every single time I listen to the pod. She is such a diamond. I love her friendship with Biggie, and her care for her mom Ginger. I love her church choir singing moments, I love her unabashed fondness for boobies and "cooter." I love how she reacts when Tig says "Fortune Marie!" As a plus size woman, I'm also so happy to see another bigger lady get famous based on her genuine talent. Know what I mean?

If anyone has lost their pop, or has never had a father (like me), we can join a virtual club where our temporary father is *Chatto Daddo*. We can ask for advice, and he can share his awesome fatherly mind with us. What a lovely man! I was not blessed in this life with healthy parents and family (seriously, who becomes a SW from a healthy family?), so whenever I witness great parenting, I get choked up in the best way.
