I loved Mae’s unhinged confessions. Definitely unique experiences. A professional masseuse going down in Nepal of all places! Marriage proposals! Magic hands that lead to 3.5-hour tantric sex sessions!

The only thing I was shocked by is Fortune and Tig’s reaction to a sex session lasting 3.5 hours. I mean, I feel like me and my lesbian friends would just call a 3.5-hour sex session a Sunday. But we aren’t creatives/celebrity comedians either so maybe that’s it. We work day jobs and a day off is a day off.

Right off the bat: I am not accusing any of them of transphobia. I am merely pointing out a pattern that i've noticed. Hopefully, once they know better, they will do better.

Mae mentioned a dyke festival they were going to. In trying to explain that the word "dyke" can be inclusive of transmasc folx and trans men, they ended up excluding trans femmes and trans women by saying the festival is for all AFAB (assigned female at birth) people. It was clumsy. I am sure if they had had a bit more time to think through their comments, they would have corrected themselves. But, the way the episode air, it was exclusionary of transfemmes and trans women who identify as dykes (of which there are many).

Similarly, Fortune has joked many many times about being a big lesbian because she has only ever touched one p*nis. This should go without saying but many many women have p*nises. Now, granted, the may choose different names for their private parts that do not have a male connotation. But just making a blank statement that having only touched one p*nis ever is proof of how much of a lesbian you are is pretty problematic.

Edit to add: later on in the episode, Fortune asked Mae if they were drawn to male or female massage therapists. Asking a non-binary pansexual person this is wild.

Once again, I do not think either of them meant to be transphobic. I hope they learn more about this and do better next time.

I only saw one comment on this sub talking about the discomfort of listening to Mae’s story with the masseuse in Nepal with the obvious power dynamics that entailed. Mae even said later that the guy asked them to help him get a Canadian passport. Maybe it wasn’t a fun sexy time for him, and it’s what people in developing counties everywhere do when they meet someone from a rich country so they get a shot at a better life? i can chalk it down to being young and naive but it didnt sound like there was any introspection with time. Disappointed.

Hearing Mae playing Alanis’ harmonica vastly improved my week.

Does anyone else think of what their own answers to the questions would be every episode?

I’d like to re-listen to just some of the goofiest ones but I can’t remember who the guests were on any of them. Does anyone have a list of the “hits”?

Is there an episode where the trio is improv-ing or ad libbing a porno that they’d all star in together? Maybe there’s an elevator involved? I don’t think I’m hallucinating but ya never know!
