Red Front #3?

I remember that there was Red Front #2 which I think was the Mercy House thrift store building on 42 South, but I also seem to remember way back there was a Red Front #3? I can't for the life of me though recall where it was- anybody remember this? Or am I imagining it.

2 Time Sensitive Inquiries

  1. Anyone know an affordable option to repair a rear flange exhaust? I need it to pass my car inspection

  2. Looking for house sits or similar options during a gap between leases. I don't have extra money to spare. Better to ask than to wonder. I work part time and have varying hours.

Thanks!

Moving to Harrisonburg

Hey! I’m moving from Texas to Harrisonburg for a new job in August. I wanted to know what it’s like, or if anyone’s gone through a similar move. What are some restaurants to check out? What’s the atmosphere like? I’m used to living in a college town, but anything I need to know or look out for? Transit?

Anything you want to share helps!

Pets this weekend

Please crate or secure your pets this weekend. The Fourth of July weekend is an especially busy time for pets to go missing due to fireworks and bolting out of fear.

Spencer’s

The valley mall- Spencer’s
love this store and only had a few issues in the past...
Luckily the negative experiences will not happen again as it seems the woman I had issues with left. She had split hair dye, nose rings, and braces. She was incredibly slow, horrible to look at, and kept making mistakes! I wish they would have fired her right on the spot because of how hideous she was! Not to mention, I've seen her walking around Harrisonburg, oh man! She's gaining weight in all the wrong places! I'm so happy to see her gone! It's unfortunate she's even able to get a job looking how she does! Please DO NOT rehire her. What a horrible sigh to see. I know you know who I'm talking about- how can you forget someone who is clearly inbred and hard to love! Thank you guys for everything.
Love y’all

Sierra Coming to harrisonburg?

was wondering what all the construction was in front of the old party city location in harrisonburg was and seen that it said it had to deal with sewer pipes but then i noticed it said in front of TJ-MAXX ,SIERRA, and Sentra store fronts. Does this mean we’re getting a New Sierra?

oh and I saw on facebook that were were also getting a wing-stop in the area, does anyone have any information on that?

Places to set off fireworks?

Apologies if this is a dumb question but I moved here not that long ago, is Harrisonburg strict about setting off fireworks? I’m in the JMU off campus apartments and have some small-ish ones to set off tomorrow. Just wanted to know if we’d have to otherwise drive out somewhere to be safe, thanks!

Fireworks ?

Sorry if this is an odd question but I moved here in March. I just found out the city is doing their celebration tonight. Why tonight and not on the 4th ? Is this normal for Harrisonburg ?

Because Matchbox Is the devil

They want to charge $50 for me to get a spare key for my home.

Is there anyone in town that makes keys that are not supposed to be copied? I have taken my key to a few different places but they are unable to copy it

Sushi Village

Anyone know what the current pricing is for all you can eat at Sushi Village? Is it still worth going too? Haven’t been in a while and trying to figure out if it’s worth the trip or not.

Did Jess’ have a fish tank in the back of the restaurant?

Okay… I feel like I’m going crazy. I’m currently in a debate with 3 people. I’m a Harrisonburg native, and I specifically remember there being a large fish tank in the back of Jess’ (downtown location) like you’re going to the restrooms. Obviously it’s been closed for years, but am I wrong??? Am I thinking of somewhere else??? Please let me know asap.

UPDATE: There WAS a fish tank. Talked to owners and people who worked at Jess’ and there WAS a fish tank in the back of the restaurant towards the bathrooms.

Why are home prices so outrageous in the city?

I know housing prices on a national level have gotten out of hand, but still, I thought a smaller city like this would be somewhat reasonable. So much for anyone under the age of 35 being able to afford a house. I guess we’re going to be forever renting apartments.

I guess all the nova money is running up demand.

Is Blue Ridge Dog still open?

As a dog owner, I loved having a dog boutique in the city. I know that the shop, post-COVID, had mostly outdoor sales when I stopped by. It also looked like they were gearing up to re-open the shop itself around Christmas time.

But since then, I don't think the shop has been open. Socials all seem to have died. Last time I stopped by a few weeks ago, the shop still had a ton of merchandise in it. I can't remember the last time it was "open," though.

Anyone know if the shop is open, for sale, or anything like that?
