i’m dropping the show because it just doesn’t make sense to me anymore…

First of all, this is just my personal opinion, but with everything that’s been happening lately, it’s become really hard for me to keep watching this show.

I genuinely loved it. I was enjoying the storyline so much. I won’t lie, I really liked the couples that were forming, especially WY-YY and MJ-SM, but my favorite was always Seogyuri. I was looking forward to their future dates and all the spoilers people were talking about. I honestly believed they were going to be endgame and that their story would turn into something really beautiful.

But now, with all these rumors, it’s hard to keep watching.

I watched today’s episode and it was pretty obvious that the episode had been re-edited. A lot of Gyuri’s scenes were cut, and probably some of Seowon’s screentime too, which is honestly disappointing. Even while watching the other couples, something just didn’t feel the same anymore.

Maybe it’s because of the production team’s delayed statement, or maybe it’s because watching the show while this whole controversy is unfolding feels incredibly weird. It also doesn’t help that the situation still hasn’t been properly clarified.

And honestly, the villain edit they’re giving Gyuri now feels really low. I understand that they’re probably trying to save the show, but if that’s the case, they might as well remove her entirely instead of editing her into some kind of villain. People on DCGall and X are already tearing her apart because of the rumors. The last thing she needs right now is an edit that encourages even more hate.

Anyway, my point is that I don’t know where this show is going anymore. I don’t know if the rumors will end up being confirmed or disproven. At this point, it almost doesn’t matter. The damage to Gyuri’s image has already been done, and honestly, I think it might be irreversible.

It’s just sad that everything ended up like this.

Her screentime is getting reduced, and nothing is confirmed yet, however is this possibly why she said "Don't want boyfriend(s) to take pictures of her" and "Want to speak formally even when dating boyfriend(s)"?

If you recall her comments she said on the show you can notice two things that sometimes people do when they are dating in secret (possibly cheating so they don't want anyone to know they are dating).

She had some strict rules she said on the show, things that now if you think about it, are stuff that very careful people who constantly have to be on their guard do possibly because they are doing something secret.

  1. She said she doesn't like even her boyfriend(s) when dating to take pictures of her (possibility of being caught if appear in many people's socials)

  2. She wants to keep formal speech even with boyfriend(s) (so people overhearing her conversations won't know they are dating)

For example if shes out on a public date with her alleged CEO married boyfriend, if they let down their guard and don't speak formally, a coworker might overhear them and notice they speak way more romantically/closely than coworkers should speak.

She cant get allow herself to let her guard down with any of her boyfriend(s) so she and her boyfriend(s) have to stay in the habit of being very secretive and careful

Soyoon and Wooyeol date in episode 7

I’m watching now episode 7 and I think that Soyoon and Wooyeol date was very good. For me, she is very attractive and charming. He is a very lucky guy for all the attention he is receiving, but it is sad to think that some of this girls will be disappointed.

Why would she do it?

IF she's guilty, why do you think would she do it? To become a micro influencer? That's the only remaining reason right? Or a favor for a casting director she cant refuse (if such a thing exists)? Risking everything..her life, her reputation- when allegedly the wife warned her that she's on to her and it's not gonna be pretty. Not to mention, it's definitely in the contract that the fees for damages are astronomical.

HIM, too. They didn't have an ounce of worry that the brand that he has built for 11+ yrs would go down the drain with a single whistleblower post? The brand is relatively successful already. The fact that they're already in the fashion week line up is big. Which means they were both making money and could be considered successful people in their 20s & 30s too.

Just to be clear, Im not an apologist. Just genuinely curious what the thought process was in coming to the show. The thought process in adultery basically involves no thinking at all, but it's the Heart Signal casting part that I cannot yet make sense of.

Why is Heart Signal so "unlucky" with contestants?

Like every single season has a problematic cast member.

Season 1 - Sungwook was sentenced to prison for SA and Juwon who got married and cheated on his wife multiple times.

Season 2 - Hyunwoo committed DUI thrice.

Season 3 - Anna was a bully, Gaheun had bullying allegations, Kangyeol assaulted a woman, and Minjae did drugs and had issues with the father of her child.

Season 4 - Jimin's problematic IG stories were leaked.

Season 5 - the allegations about Gyuri.

Even Heart Pairing had some issues with Sangyoon allegedly having a girlfriend while in the show.

This is the only dating show that has these amount of people having a problematic past or issues. They should consider going for more background checks because they could've prevented some of them from joining had they checked these people's backgrounds more because problematic behaviors won't appear in a snap. There would be hints about it.

R we getting a new episode tomorrow?

The suspense is making me uncomfortable. No article and no preview so far. I get it that the PD team are weighing their options, wherever the truth lies. But shouldn't they at least communicate to the viewers about this? It's already evening in Korea and the new episode is supposed to air tomorrow. No news is bad news, as they say.

Would the current negative rumour about HSK5 femal cast be dirty marketing strategy by the show/PDs/ChannelA?

Disclaimer*: this post is just to understand other perspectives on current viral either unconfirmed or undenial validation facts.

I am very curious as Knets appears to be bloody brutal on adultery and the rumor is indeed heavy weight that can ruin multiple lifes.

However, involved parties have yet to realease any validation up til now.

Hence, there are several doubts on this rumour whether it is true or false, there is also alternative the the show/The PDs/ChanelA interntionally allowed this to leak globally on social media and now it is literally everywhere. This show somewhat has become viral within 24 hours even in a negative way and damages done.

However the point is the show is discussed virally not just Knets but global despite the show was super super low rating up to ep 8 still.

It is wondering if this rumour is done on purpose of boosting the show get viral even hurting people involved? The fact that the timeline to leak this rumour is too coincidence? The fact that no one comes clean nor deny is challenging the authencity of the rumour?

Is there anything like this happened before proven that the act was done by the show istself to viral the show in SK if anyone knows of?

how do they even screen participants

this is exactly like the tae in scandal from Match to Marry, and they had deleted her scenes from the show following ep 2 or 3. https://www.koreatimes.co.kr/entertainment/shows-dramas/20260124/koreas-reality-tv-crisis-can-broadcasters-truly-screen-noncelebrity-participants

im hoping this is false for the sake of the show and cast, but more and more claims keep coming up, i'm just wondering how k-dating shows conduct their screening process. They might have to cancel the show if gyuri is a significant character for the show.

like i know for Transit Love they basically just get your entire dating history and do a thorough background check. In Better Late Than Single too I was curious how they can be sure about the lack of dating experience of the cast. Honestly, I'd hate for the story get more convoluted than it already is because of this situation. Here's to hoping for a press release and some clarity before k-netz and diehard fans slime each other///

also don't come at me for this post, im all for waiting for confirmation rather than speculating

unconfirmed rumour but suitcase and coat matches

this is obviously still all alleged right now but suitcase and coat matches to what was on the show - not looking good especially if Gyuri is end game with WY

What's going on with Heart Signal?

I've been seeing a bunch of DCGall posts claiming that a Heart Signal cast member was involved in adultery, but I honestly can't tell if people are being serious or just trolling.

u/bur1t00 — 3 days ago

Since they're taking time releasing an official statement...

I cant bring myself around to believing it YET because look at the height difference? He's allegedly the one in black wearing shorts btw. It seems everyone knows who the post was referring to- but since it's unconfirmed, I thought Id still cover his face lol

The show is truly ruined if it were true.

Seowom is the ideal man

I don't understand how all the women in HS are pining over one man when seowon is the whole package. After ep 4, my whole idea about him changed. I thought "just another hot guy who seems rude and no wonder he is a model" in the first few episodes but he is surprisingly cute and really adorable. He makes you feel like you want to take care of him but he's very attentive. He's career driven, well-spoken and mainly EMOTIONALLY INTELLIGENT. This sold me. when he was talking about the book he chose, the way he was talking passionately about his beliefs. if i was there, I would've totally fell for him. Please Gyuri, open your eyes and see the man who is going after you.

one of the show's host left a like on this insta post about gyuri

Its either the allegations are true or the host just liked the post by accident.

Heart Signal 4 Jimin posts an apology after her close friends stories on instagram were leaked.

One of her acquaintances who clearly doesn’t like her leaked her close friends story where she has posted many controversial things. Some include: conservative remarks, defending martial law, calling her mom a 김치녀 (gold digger/materalistic women, a very misogynistic term), and gossiping / resharing rumours about other influencers such as Singles Inferno’s Park Heesun, telling rich men to beware of pregnancy attacks from women, wanting to abandon her pet + more. You can see more if you search up ‘김지민’ on Twitter / X.

Some fans actually need to touch some grass

Poor Yugyeong and Wooyeol. Literally getting hate for breathing LMAO. Some fans can't accept that both of them genuinely like each other.

u/plsgankm1d — 4 days ago

I asked ChatGPT who it thinks Gyuri and Wooyeol will choose at the end.

We already know Yookyeong is choosing Wooyeol and Seowon is choosing Gyuri so I didn't need to ask that.

Thoughts?

I am 55 YK / 45 GY on Wooyeol. The 45 for Gyuri is really solely based on the fact that they used the Gangneung quote to represent Wooyeol on his character poster. They wouldn't do that for no reason.

I agree with their Gyuri final choice analysis.

Alpine Love Episodes 1–4: Am I Watching a Dating Show or a Mountain Survival Program?

ALPINE LOVE REVIEW (Episodes 1–4)

Episode 1 – Alpine Love

• I liked the concept of having no expectations and filming from a distance.
• However, I started feeling a little uneasy during the dinner scene at the long table. The camera kept panning to the production crew to capture their thoughts and opinions, which were then included in the episode. Personally, I didn’t think that was necessary.

Episode 2 – Why are they cycling in the rain?

• The first 5–7 minutes were enjoyable and easy to watch.
• Similar to the previous episode, the camera frequently focused on the production crew while they discussed the participants’ behavior. Again, I didn’t think it added much to the viewing experience.
• There was a scene where the participants had to ride bicycles despite the rain, wet and slippery roads, and heavy fog. I was genuinely surprised that filming continued under those conditions.
• After that, it was fun watching the participants enjoy the water activities. However, the crew started encouraging them to hug each other immediately after getting off the boat, which felt a little forced.
• Near the end of the episode, one participant asked the crew whether it was okay to be more vocal with the others. The crew approved and encouraged him. I actually didn’t mind this interaction since it seemed to support the show’s goal of capturing authentic connections.

Episode 3 – Why are they climbing mountains?

• I loved how direct the participants were during the bonfire Q&A session.
• I also found it amusing how they still managed to find the time, energy, and oxygen to socialize while climbing up and down the mountain.
• The activities were enjoyable to watch until the crew started chanting “Bikini, bikini” before the swimming segment.
• What made it even stranger was when the camera focused on the director, who announced he was “entering bikini mode” before putting on his sunglasses and smiling at the camera. I genuinely wasn’t sure what purpose that served.

Episode 4 – Why are they still in the mountains?

• This episode is what finally pushed me to write this review. Just 2 minutes and 11 seconds in, one of the crew members referred to a participant as “Fatso.” Why? I genuinely don’t know. Was it because his body wasn’t as slim as the other participants? Was there context that didn’t make it into the subtitles? Whatever the reason, I hope there was a very good explanation for it.
• At this point, I started questioning whether they were filming a dating variety show or an extreme adventure program. For the past few episodes, the participants have spent a surprising amount of time climbing mountains and doing physically demanding activities.
• Two male participants slipped and sprained their ankles while descending the mountain. During the situation, the director commented that if he were in one participant’s position, he would push through, but if he were in the other participant’s position, he wouldn’t continue. I honestly didn’t understand the point of that comparison. First of all, it wasn’t him who was injured. Second, was his opinion really necessary in that moment?
• To his credit, the director ultimately decided not to let either participant continue with the challenge.
• It was also touching to see one of the crew members comfort a female participant by telling her not to be too hard on herself. It was one of the more genuine moments of the episode.
• Around the middle of the episode, I became more hopeful when the director reminded everyone of the show’s actual purpose and gave the participants the opportunity to pursue dates with the people they were interested in.

Overall Thoughts

So far, I’m enjoying the participants more than the production itself.

The cast feels genuine, and many of their interactions have been entertaining, heartfelt, and easy to root for. However, my biggest issue with Alpine Love is the production team’s constant involvement. The crew frequently appears on camera, comments on the participants’ behavior, influences interactions, and occasionally inserts themselves into moments that would have felt more natural if left alone.

I’m also starting to wonder whether this is a dating show or a mountain-climbing survival challenge. The participants seem to spend just as much time navigating difficult terrain as they do getting to know one another.

That said, there are still plenty of enjoyable moments, and I’m interested to see whether the upcoming episodes focus more on the relationships and less on turning the cast into professional hikers.
