When you skip so many weeks and it catches up to you. Sigh.
Totally my fault but ever have that too late realization when you get a box you didn’t want… Wasn’t ready to cancel, but wasn’t ready for a box.

Anyone else having problems with their deliveries showing up like 24 hrs late w all the ice completely melted and food spoiled? 3rd time in the last 2 months for me. Tempted to cancel and just order when the weather is cool if they can't get their shit together.
One of our favorites, it never misses!

Not sure if it was an e-mail or a pop up but the offer was 10 Free Meals from Hello Fresh applied to the first box. So, I thought I would give it a try. I chose 4 meals for two for the first box. So, 4 x 2 is 8 although I was supposed to get 10 free. So, I looked to see what kind of meals were available for a second week. Wow! Not much of a selection and the cost was outrageous at $109.35 for the base meals. Then I saw that my free 10 meals (only 8 chosen) were going to cost $49.34. Within an hour on July 4, 2026, I went from signing up to cancelling the account and advising Hello Fresh that it was not authorized to make any charge to my credit card. Well, yet Sunday morning I get a notice that Hello Fresh charged $49.34 to my AMEX credit card for my box of free meals and by Monday the charge went from Pending to Actual.
I contacted Hello Fresh
by Chat, requesting and waiting for a live agent. I explained that Hello Fresh
had no authority to charge my credit card, that I canceled my account in less
than an hour from signing up and made it clear that I did not authorize any
charge by Hello Fresh to my credit card. The chat agent offered me a credit to
my account, calling it a "topping off" of cash in my account for
future purchases. I was shocked and explained I want nothing ever to do with
Hello Fresh so why would I want to have it keep the amount charged despite my
clear instructions to cancel the account and that it had no authority to charge
my credit card. The agent then said it would apply a credit equal to the amount
charged and it would be 7 to 10 business days for the credit to show up on my
AMEX account despite that it was able to charge my credit card in less then 12 hours after being told I cancelled my account (less than an hour after opening the account.)
So, my opinion is that Hello Fresh is disingenuous at best with regard to its “10 Free Meals Offer." It had no right to charge my AMEX card after being advised of the cancelation and instructed to not charge the credit card and ignored those instructions. Its CSRs seem to have been instructed to do whatever to keep money improperly charged to potential customers and make the customer use its over priced products.
Well, I will never ever consider using Hello Fresh again and when asked, will advise my friends to avoid it as well.
Over the past few months, nearly every HelloFresh box I've received has had an issue. It's usually something small, like a missing spice packet or sauce, but sometimes it's more significant, like missing protein, to a wrong meal being packed. I've also received a completely moldy cucumber, and I almost never get all the recipe cards included.
This has happened so consistently that customer care already recognizes me by name when I call. At this point, it's clear there's a systemic quality control problem with how boxes are packed, not just isolated mistakes.
Given the frequency, I want to understand what HelloFresh is doing to fix the packing process itself, and what compensation is appropriate for months of recurring errors besides pushing Ai and claiming they are a tech company that does food.
Just looking to get recipe cards if anybody is up for giving them away! I have been cooking with my own ingredients a lot to budget for a baby on the way and only have so many cards myself. I use online recipes of course but I really like the layout of hellofresh cards and that I physically can have them as remembering to save it if I end up liking an online recipe.
I know a lot of people keep theirs as well but I see some people dont because they've been continuously subscribed for so long.
this is nuts. 6 eggs.
also for an order I skipped yet it still was processed and delivered today 🙄
I loved the beef albondigas and don't see them on my menus for the next several weeks </3
I'm in the U.S.
I was an avid fresher for several years, but eventually canceled.
I decided to take advantage of a sign up deal but shortly after subscribing, I changed my mind.
The meal selection cut off was July 2nd. On July 1st, I successfully canceled and deleted my account. No clue why but HelloFresh charged my credit card yesterday and they’re refusing a refund because my “box was already discounted” and they’re allowed to process box orders AFTER cancellation.
What a scam.
I did not add the peanuts. I really don't care for them.
The shrimp Cakes are tasty.
I’ve been a loyal customer for a while, but this week was the final absolute straw.
On Monday, my box was delayed. On Tuesday, the app changed to "Preparing a new box." By Wednesday afternoon, it was STILL sitting in the "Preparing" phase. Obviously, a box shipped mid-week is useless and will just overlap with next week's delivery.
When I went to report the issue, the automated bot slapped me with a pathetic $20 credit for an entire box of missing food. I escalated to a live chat agent, and they flat-out REFUSED a cash refund, claiming they "couldn't cancel a shipment in progress"—even though the tracking history proved the carrier hadn't even picked up the box yet. They expect us to pay full price for transit delays and just accept "invoice credits" like we don't have to go out and buy actual groceries to eat this week. The lengths they make you go through to get your own money back for food they failed to deliver is incredibly obnoxious.
I finally had to resort to calling their customer support phone line directly, where I was thankfully able to get an agent to finally process a full cash refund and a shipping voucher.
Honestly, though, it’s not even worth the fight anymore because the recipe quality has completely gone downhill. You can so clearly tell they are using lazy, unvetted generative AI to write these cards now.
Just this past month, I had a soup recipe that called for a whopping 1/4 cup of water (can't wait to eat my bowl of hot sludge), and a chili recipe that instructed me to sauté chopped jalapeños and white scallion parts for SEVEN MINUTES. Seven minutes!! My kitchen was a chemical warfare zone of aerosolized capsaicin and burnt onions.
I took my refund, used the voucher for one last box, and I am permanently canceling. Has anyone else noticed their customer service getting aggressively worse while the recipes turn into literal AI-generated nonsense?
Hi! So, I've been a member for maybe 3ish months (just got box 10) and upon sign-up, it said there will be a free extra for every box ordered, for as long as I'm a member.
Well, that ended end of June apparently, and I can't see anything anywhere on how to get it to continue or return?
Is this intentional and their wording is just really questionable, or is it a bug/issue on my end? I suppose it's not that big of a deal, but at the same time, it feels kind of scummy to write 'receive this for as long as you are with us' and then just cancel it in this short a time?
(In case it's relevant, I'm from Germany.)
Thanks for the help!
Our box got delayed a day this week (so this could just be a local issue), and now that it’s here… yikes.
Ice packs melted in the complete opposite corner from the meats, multiple meal bags torn open to the point where they could only just barely be removed from the box in tact, ground beef open and leaking. Everything is warm and damp.
I can understand some of this, it is a heatwave and all (though that doesn’t make me trust these meats any more…), but the ice packs in one corner? Both of them fully standing up vertically, away from where they’re the most necessary? My recipe cards and both “there’s food under the ice packs” pieces of cardboard were stacked and shoved into the side of the box.
Is something up at the warehouse this week, or did we just draw the short straw this time around?
We’ve been going through a difficult time, so a friend suggested hello fresh to help ease meal time. Our friend kindly got us a week’s worth of meals, and unfortunately a lot of the produce arrived rotten, and we received expired items dating last year (note the date on the protein package and the slimy produce). Between that and the insane amount of packaging, the customer service grief has been frustrating for my friend to deal with. We always wanted to try one of these services, and we’re so thankful for the thoughtfulness of our friend, but this ended up being more of a headache than it was worth. less
This is my first apartment (21 M) and I just love how convenient hello fresh is and how much it's teaching me to cook. I've had some issues but for the most part every meal I've had has been great!
I can measure 1 1/4 c water without looking. First time, every time 🤣🤣
So when I signed up I got free meats for a couple of months but after that the only time I get any kind of discount or anything is if I send free meals to friends. Are there freebies or discounts that I’m missing? Do I have to cancel and go back to get a deal?
I ordered the Low Lift Al-Pastor Beef bowls this week. Going to make it tonight or tomorrow. Anyone made this yet?
I’m asking because the AI slop picture below does not show the random coleslaw/pineapple/guacamole mix in the recipe. The pictures show the pineapple cooked with the beef.
I’m not at all excited about this one and will probably adjust the steps.
