I absolutely love making these concepts and couldn’t wait to share this! (P.S I would happily take any suggestions for further concepts, like any of their live performances or something)

Was I dumb for selling my My Body: The Hand Grenade vinyl?

I really needed the money a few years back and sold my very rare copy of this album to a collector in the US relatively cheap 😭 it’s my favourite Hole record and easily my biggest regret.

How dumb am I?!

Courtney was a trailblazer

She made me realize that being gang raped at 13 and having the police laugh at me about it is a bunch of horseshit. Violet was spellbinding to me at the time because of that. I think she is a tremendous woman.

Can anyone tell me about my vinyl please?

Hi everyone, I have POTI and LTT in my vinyl collection (which I’m thinking of selling) but I don’t know much about the demand of the records on vinyl, I’ve attached pics, thanks 🤩

Courtney Love and Hole residency and recording sessions November - December 1995

Okay, so I read the recently published memoir by Hole bassist, Melissa Auf der Maur. There’s a chapter about the band living and recording here. I’m wondering where the house and recording studio she writes about are located.

She writes, “We make ourselves at home in the Garden District in a spooky Victorian mansion that’s been given a pink facelift to hide its darker past.” A wraparound porch, stone walkway and plaster eagle statues are also mentioned. Apparently, a fire in a bedroom started by a prayer candle, abruptly ended their stay.

The studio is described as, “an extravagant 1920s former Masonic-temple high-rise that’s now a commercial rental property. The grand hall has been repurposed as a recording studio. original elaborate Art Deco infused wall paintings of Egyptian iconography and pyramids complete the vibe.” Later, she details a ghost encounter after taking an elevator to the wrong floor and that an assistant found Courtney on the roof, contemplating suicide.

I’ve ruled out the former Nothing Studios—only two stories, no elevator or grand hall.

Here are the accompanying photos. Any info on either exact location is much appreciated! TIA

Did a couple hi res scans of the America’s Sweetheart art

Seems impossible to find these anywhere, so I flat bed scanned some of the art from my CD. Hopefully these don’t get crunched too badly.

Do you think Courtney is a good friend

I’d like to believe the best of her. I find myself taking on her mannerisms sometimes and then have to remind myself that a lot of people are annoyed by her. Her name dropping in interviews also suggests a certain selfishness that makes me feel like it would be hard to have a genuine relationship with her. I have huge respect for her art and the obstacles she overcame, while still wondering what she’s like as a person.
