Set recommendations for dimensions

Always like to expand my palette by discovering new djs, and not just sticking to what i know, so which sets would you recommend seeing at dimensions? For context, as to what I like, some of my favourite sets at houghton were: Unai Trotti, binh, christian AB, Raresh, Ogazon, Jade Seattle (to name a few)

My last multi-day rave?

I had a great time at Houghton 2026. Sunrise Rhadoo, lying in the Orchard listening to post rock guitars on a gentle trip feeling like way back when in a student bedroom, silly chats with the nice man in the hot chocolate stall, some deep dub and MCs getting right into my soul, letting loose and looking back on my life with from a much needed disconnect, the nice man at Al Wootton with a particularly exciting vape. But Christ am I only just getting back to normal. I lurked here reading people's ins and outs, debates on class and dance-floor etiquettes throughout last week but could hardly collect my own thoughts (for the record, just enjoy yourself :p ). My first festival in four years (the last being Houghton ofc), going on 32 and with a chronic migraine condition, maybe I have to accept what I knew before going into this -- these raves take a big toll on body and mind and are unlikely to be a 'forever practice'. Four nights in the woods in whatever which headspace would be remiss for those with caring responsibilities, or even just jobs that can't take at least a day or two in zombie mode. And, while on the first iteration my mind was blown -- I think helped a lot by the lack of a map back then, which made everything that bit more mysterious -- I took this one in a more controlled, chilled out manner and paced myself much better yet still suffered the consequences. This is not a doom and gloom post. This is to say you lot are all lucky fucks to have the time and resources to drop everything and loose yourselves for a long weekend and in most cases to have a cracking good time out there. Enjoy it while it lasts, because for most of us it ain't forever -- unless you fend off the advances of health conditions and become a lifer. I'm sure I have a good few sunrises ahead of me, but in isolation and not succession, maybe even more festivals taken a bit more gently. So this one goes out to everyone where the balance between the weekend before and the week after is starting to just come out of alignment. A fabulous one to go out on, peace.

Set recordings?

Does anyone have any idea which sets were recorded over the weekend and a time estimate for SoundCloud release?? I see Bill Brewsters released his Stallions set already.

Animal Abuse at Boomtown

On Saturday morning in Valley camping (near the top of the hill closest to the Tangled Roots entrance) we witnessed a 20-something blonde guy bring a baby bird back to his camp, enclosed in his hands, claiming it had a broken wing and that he was going to he kill it to "put it out of its misery". A few girls in his camp were telling him not to do it, asking him to open his hands to see if it could fly away, but he refused to open his hands to let them see if it could. Some of the guys in his camp were egging him on, laughing and joking about how he should kill it.

He eventually left camp and returned about 5 mins later with the bird, now dead and beheaded, laughing and displaying it to everyone in his camp. He then proceeded to spike its head on the top of a used smart whip canister, again laughing and joking about it.

We wanted to say something at the time, but we were genuinely so disturbed by this cruel and psychotic behaviour that we were worried he would do something to us or our camp in return for calling him out. We resolved to say something on Monday morning, but they were already gone by the time we woke up.

We never expected to see this kind of behaviour at Boomtown - it completely goes against the vibe of the whole festival. I just wanted to share this in hopes that they would see it and realise how fucked it up it was. I hope karma slaps him in the face hard and that he never returns to Boomtown again.

Are we still cool supporting abuse enabler Dr Banana?

Not sure how this guy got off scot-free, his vile best friend (of 10+ years) Lukas Wigflex, abused his wife/partner for years and Dr Banana didn't know anything about it or hasn't spoken about it. He was happy to keep running Peep Festival with Wigflex still on the books. Yes he stepped down from playing but he still has still gained financially from the festival. Dr Banana's student festival where he played 21.5 hours over the festival to fuel his ego whilst injecting revenue into his abuser best friends pocket who was watching from home. The scene needs protecting from abuse enablers, buying tickets for Dr Banana events is actively supporting abuse to women. Think twice

It seems it’s now niche to of had a good time at houghton this year

Not sure if it’s because usually only negative people have stuff to say but it’s just getting ridiculous with the complaining at this point, and I’m finding it far and few between people just having a bloody great weekend as I do year in year out. This year was no exception, and I feel like most complaints come from some weird sense of self importance and superiority. Anyone else agree?

Is this where we draw the line?

Just wanted to have a gigantic bitch and moan about the security situation after Saturday. Seems the fun police were out in full force and were refusing entry to a fair few doof sticks, ours included. Apparently the humble doof is now considered “too weapon-like” because, in theory, someone could take it and use it as a weapon. I politely invoked my Fifth Amendment right to bear arms, but sadly the Constitution did not prevail. I’m also hearing rumours that Burnham is personally lobbying for an expansion of the prison estate to deal with the rapidly escalating doof stick crisis. We’re living in dangerous times.
I do think the logic is a little questionable though. There are plenty of large branches scattered around the arena that could do considerably more damage if someone was genuinely intent on committing woodland warfare. Besides if a would be bandit wants to wade all the way into the mixer to take my stick as a weapon of choice then I’d be flattered. I can’t help but feel this was caused by someone up to no good which forced security to be tighter post Saturday. If that’s the case, why can’t people just be nice to each other?
Meanwhile, the main purpose of ol’ faithful is literally just “where the fuck has the posse gone?”And surely there’s an argument that something which helps groups stay together actually makes people safer, rather than removing one of the easiest ways to locate each other in a sea of thousands of people? Which surely outweighs the threat to national security?
Anyway, I’m not asking for the return of the wild west. Just let me wave my little stick around in peace. Have a day off chaps and chapettes or at least give us some formal doof stick terms and conditions!

(In case you couldn’t tell, this post was satire. We still had a belter, but seriously, give us our fucking sticks back?!):

Funny the impact a few Reddit accounts have had on the Houghtonsphere

2/3 main accounts that have been shit posting pre and post has literally sent people into turmoil.

We‘ve had people complaining, people complaining about people complaining, DJs insta stories on about the culture of dance floors, full forensic analysis of the attendees, private schools, people announcing this was there last one. People writing up there experience of the festival not even 4 hours after the festival ended 😂

Just goes to show you society is fucked and no one can think for themselves. You need to have I'm cooler than you on Reddit, you can’t make it up peeps you really can’t, be a man’s man and don’t listen to the troll dogs
