Electrify Bike Co. CYC X1 Pro Gen 4 order is taking forever!

Hi everyone,

I've had my eye on the CYC X1 Pro Gen 4 for a while and a few months ago I began building a Canyon Neuron Al 6 mountain bike and converting it to electric. I live in Utah and Electrify Bike Co. is also based Utah and has it's shop in West Valley.

I ordered a CYC X1 Pro from Electrify on June 19 and was expecting to receive it with in at most 2-4 weeks as this is what they have listed for delivery time WITH delays. I didn't notice when I ordered it that I was ordering a pre-order. I was a bit annoyed as they didn't have it listed super clearly but it is what it is. It's now been almost 2 months exactly since I ordered it and I'm frustrated with how long this is taking.

I've sent quite a few support tickets to Electrify Bike Co. and they've normally responded in decent time, but every time they tell me they're expecting it soon then it doesn't show up. At first they said they were hoping to have them in by late June, then they told me they were expecting the shipment to arrive mid July, and then the latest they said they were told it should be in next week which was 3 weeks ago.

I'm quite frustrated and it's really disappointing because I ordered the CYC motor at the start of this summer and was excited to take it on some bike packing trips but now summers quickly coming to a close and I'm still without a motor.

Is anyone is a similar situation as me? If anyone has ordered from CYC or Electrify Bike Co. and received your order, how long did it take?

The most silent mid drive bike

Qulbix Q140MD built from the frame up, including the battery

30Kw peak

96v 42ah molicel P42A

Tuned fastace fork with skf seals and 50lbs spring

16/19 wheels

I 3D printed a lot of parts for it, such as the controller box for waterproofing, bashguard, mounts for lights, display mount, charging port, etc.

It's sooo silent, almost like a hub motor bike, and stupid fast.

Razor MX650 vs. TUTTIO ARC-I for my 9’year old— which would you choose?

I’m trying to decide between a Razor MX650 and a TUTTIO ARC-I for my son. He currently has a Razor MX350 that needs a new battery, so rather than putting more money into it, I’m considering upgrading him to a bigger bike.
The TUTTIO seems like the better bike right out of the box since it already has a lithium battery and goes 20+ mph. But I also like that Razor is a more established brand, and the MX650 seems to have a huge aftermarket if we want to upgrade it later.
I would most likely leave the TUTTIO stock, but if we went with the Razor, I could see us modifying it down the road.
For those who have experience with either. Which would you buy for a 9 year old?
Thank you!!!

My new project to help people choose an electric motorcycle.

I created a database that allows you to compare electric motorcycles and look at specs. It is mostly vibe-coded but I can be contacted about inaccuracies. Let me know what you think. I don't make money on it I just figured I'd share.

I'd also appreciate new bike suggestions. Hopefully I can eventually move away from the AI when I can find the time to write myself.

Upgrading a Razor MX350 for My 10 Year Old — How Big of a Project Is It?

For my 10-year-old’s birthday, he really wants to upgrade his Razor MX350. I have no idea how to do it, but I’m pretty capable and willing to figure it out. My main questions are: how big of a project is this, and is there a complete upgrade kit I can buy, or do I need to purchase all the parts separately?

Torque arm question

Quick question about torque arms. I know the stock torque arms that come with these kits are crap but i heard if you bolt them in their allright. Will this work if i drilll it a hole in the torque arms and bolt it in? I have two grin v6s on the way but i want to be really safe cause its an aluminum frame. Its 3000w 60a should i put two torque arms on each side? and i was a little concerned about the washer layout bexause then main phase wires seem to be in the way

Fardriver question

I am doing some testing on my bike. I set 80 line amps/250 phase amps/0(max) field weakening and 100% speed ratios beyond my rpm limits.

Why is the phase showing lower than the line current on acceleration?

Excited to ride but I got an issue with my qs205.

Hey guys, I’ve recently upgraded my stealth to qs205 and fardriver 72480. 100amp NBpower battery.

When I run the motor, once the wheel comes to a stop, it has this wierd deep whine or whir from within the motor. In the clip it lasts for half a seccond but one of the times off camera it was whining indefinitely until I pulled the power?

What is up , is something broken or breaking, is this Normal and do I just leave it.

Any and all help including reading up until this point is genuinely appreciated.
Thank you 🙏

I have tried the following:
- I’m pretty certain it is an electrical fault and not a mechanical one (or it’s just fine to do this)
- field weaking set to slow and low as per AI advice
- max speed and rated speed set to 900 and 870.
- EABS turned off
- I have auto learned a few times

28s Range extender

I have an 50ah 28s Battery I'm building for my motorcycle. And in the case is no more space left, so i want to build an battery extender. But the thing is... The bms is nearly always 170A+ big and expensive, when I only need like 30-50A. Has someone a reliable work around, alternative or idea? I would Do even an DC DC Boost converter to Charge the battery but Idealy I want to take off some amps off the Main battery by using low resistance cells. Any Tips are apreciated.

Edit:

It's an 28S 10P battery with 21700 M58T cells. They are protected with a 200a fuse, and have an 220a continuous ANT-BMS. The Battery is for 100a continuous and 200a peak. The cells are more for moderate ampere draw and with the battery extender I want more range and take of a few amps of the main battery for when I accelerate. Having another battery in parallel with lower resistance should give me lower voltage sag over all. With a high power cell instead of high energy density in that case. It clearly depends on the number of cells in parallel for the extender but still...I hope this makes things more clear.

650 miles on the villian

I am absolutely loving this thing. was wondering if it is time for a new chain or should I wait until it’s fully stretched out? Also, anybody know how to adjust the rear shock? When I sit it compresses some and changes the chain slack by a lot. Thanks! If you have any questions about the cosmetic mods, lmk !

Looking for a custom 52V high-current e-bike battery builder in Austria / Germany / Europe

Hi everyone,

I'm currently converting a Mondraker Foxy Carbon XR 2019 with a mid-drive motor and I'm looking for someone who can build a custom-shaped battery pack for the frame.

I already ordered the a battery (52V / 10Ah / ~520Wh) as a temporary solution, but because of the unusual frame geometry there is quite a lot of unused space. Therefore I'd like to have a larger custom battery built over the winter.

What I'm looking for:

  • Voltage: 52V nominal / 14S lithium-ion
  • Capacity: ideally around 20Ah / ~1,040Wh
  • Configuration: preferably 14S4P with 21700 cells
  • Cells: high-quality branded high-current cells, e.g. Samsung 50S or comparable
  • BMS: high-current BMS, ideally around 60A continuous discharge
  • Peak current: should be suitable for the X1 Pro at high power
  • Connector: XT90/XT90-S
  • Charging: preferably removable battery with external charging connector
  • Battery must be removable from the bike for charging
  • Custom enclosure: shaped specifically to fit the available space inside the frame
  • Approx. available depth: around 80–100 mm
  • Waterproof / splash-resistant construction would be preferred.

The available side profile is roughly trapezoidal/triangular rather than rectangular. I have already made a physical template of the available frame space and can provide exact measurements, photos and a 1:1 template to the builder.

My current estimate is that 56 × 21700 cells (14S4P) should be possible, but I'm completely open to a professional battery builder suggesting a better cell layout or configuration.

Safety and build quality are more important to me than squeezing the absolute maximum capacity into the frame. I'm specifically looking for someone experienced with high-power e-bike batteries, proper cell interconnection, insulation, BMS integration and mechanically secure construction.

Location: Vienna, Austria.

Ideally I'm looking for a builder in Austria or Germany, but I'm also interested in reputable builders elsewhere in the EU if shipping a custom lithium battery is possible.

Does anyone know a company or experienced professional who builds batteries like this?

I'd also be interested to hear what capacity you think would realistically fit into this space.

Thanks!

How do you guys manage battery charge percentage?

I've been trying to take better care of my battery instead of just charging it to 100% every time, but the process is kind of annoying.

If I know I won't be riding for a while I usually try to leave it around 60%, and if I think I'll ride soon I'll charge it to around 80%. Right now I basically estimate how long it'll take to get there, set a timer on my phone, and then walk back out to the garage to check the battery and unplug it. Half the time I'm doing something else when the timer goes off, so it's definitely not ideal.

I'm curious what everyone else actually does. Do you bother stopping at 60–80%, or do you normally just let it charge to 100%? If you do limit the charge, how are you doing it — timer, smart plug, watching voltage, adjustable charger, or something else?

Has anyone found a setup that makes this pretty much automatic, or do most of you just deal with manually checking it?

Got to see a crazy sunset yesterday...

It was like the sky was on fire, it was insane.

Bike specs for those who care:

72v 3kw motor from NBPower running an 80a controller they included, so 5kw.

72v 20ah Amorge battery with Eve 50PL cells, capable of 200a continuous 240a peak.

Eventually I plan on getting a Fardriver ND72360 and Statorade to push this build even further, but so far it's a ton of fun. Hit 95kmh the other day, downhill with wind at my back. Normally I get 80-85kmh flat ground.
