Hi,

I have a 2023 i30 with 10k miles on the clock.

When I put the car in normal mode the exhaust has a weird screeching / metal noise but when I select sport or n mode the noise disappears..

I can only hear it when the windows are open..

Just acquired my i30n this Friday at 90,000 miles drove it home and have been glued to the car since. Wanted one for ages and I’m so happy with it. Just a few questions from my end. I know location is a major deal and being from the holy land of Bradford, UK but what has everybody got for security? So far only a steering lock on him but realistically this thing is my pride and joy and the thought of him being stolen boils my blood. Also. I understand the car and its features to ensure I don’t blow up the engine but how long do people usually have their car running before they have some fun with it and how many times can you “floor it” before the car slows its self down. After pick up the car was loving a pull but towards the end of yesterday and start of today I’ll pull in second gear and when I switch to third. Nothing. No power no pull. I can see that it will be the engine being too hot but after one pull in second I wouldn’t expect him to be worn out before I get to third that’s all. Thanks guy!

I'm thinking of getting an I30 N as my first car and found a good 2024 example with only 8000km on it. The buyer is asking for ZAR 550 000 or about $32k. Is this a good idea or should I keep looking?

Had my 71 plate i30N in for its 5th service a couple of weeks ago and they did the hpfp replacement, car now sounds noticeably quieter and a lot less difference between normal and N mode, really disappointed to be honest I feel like it’s taken a lot of character out of the car. Has anyone had a similar experience?

I've been eyeing one i30 N from 2018, driven for 130-140k km.

Is there anything I should be aware and ask if something's been done? All I have found is some interior rattles, fogging headlights, some talk about hpfp, and some 2018 models had some loose battery terminals.

As the car is 2018, there's no GPF, right?

I’m looking to do some sound mods to my car, it’s not loud enough anymore.

Fyi, I want the car to be louder than stock but not obnoxious, I leave for work at 4am most days and I feel like my car is already too loud on cold starts.

I’ve heard gpf and res deletes are good options but I wanna hear it first hand from people that actually have them done. Sound, pops/bang clips if you have them please.

I have Elantra N and stock they are good track day cars but what about modded?

See plenty of tunes that can make 350+whp and make it. I’ve in a straight line or roll race 60-130 etc but what about track day?

Intercooler a must? Tunes? Dump pipes? What sort of boost is it best to limit? Will a tuned Elantra N just heat soak on track?

Does anyone experience slight movement from the front suspension when accelerating hard?
Is it normal or I be worried about my front suspension?

Has anyone changed their tyres and started experiencing slight vibrations when driving at normal speed from the accelerator?

Does anyone know where to buy automatic boot struts for a 2023 hatchback i30n? I’ve looked and can’t find any
