iPhone 13 became slow after iOS 26 update. PLS HELP

Hey everyone,
I have an iPhone 13, and ever since I updated to iOS 26, my phone has become noticeably slower. Apps take longer to open, animations feel laggy at times, and the overall performance just doesn’t feel as smooth as it used to.
I’ve also noticed that my battery life has dropped significantly after the update. It drains much faster than before, even with normal usage.
Is anyone else experiencing the same issues on their iPhone 13 after updating to iOS 26? If you managed to fix it, could you please tell me how to make my phone as fast as it was before the update? I’d really appreciate any tips or solutions.
Thanks in advance!

Is anyone’s iPhone 13 also overheating after updating?

First post here so I don’t know I’m breaking any rules 😭

Edit: IOS 27 doesn’t show up for me yet, just 26.5.2, I don’t want to update my phone because I feel like it’ll kill it 💀

I’ve had my phone for a year and a half now when it was like iOS 18(?) and now it’s iOS 26 and it won’t stop lagging on the camera app and gets very hot after maybe 20 minutes of being on my phone.

Are these genuine problems others are having or am I just a bit unlucky recently?

What to do? To change it or just leave it

I need to swap the old engine on my iPhone 13 because its 74% and it starts to lag a little bit and to heatup. Thats not the problem but the thing is that my ip13 is on ios 18.7 and the repair service needs to update my phone to ios 26 to calibrate the battery or something like that.
So idk what to do

iOS 27 Beta 2 Tinted and Clear icons lag

For reference, this iPhone 13 was also used by my dad before he gave it to me, switching to a Xiaomi 14T. It has 98% battery health, and has no replaced or repaired parts. It started lagging when it was once updated to iOS 26.1 and more and more updates lagged it out, which never happened or lagged back in 26.0 or 18.x

It still lags in iOS 27 beta 1-2 but a bit less.

I’ve tried a handful of solutions:
Factory reset
Freeing space
Making Liquid Glass more tinted
Turning on Reduce Transparency/Motion

None of them worked.

iOS 27 beta 2 on iPhone 13 wow.

Guys I put the ios 27 beta 2 on my iPhone 13 and it’s super duper fast. I can’t believe it that it’s the on the iPhone 13 and It’s fast blazing fast and this is too good to be true for a beta.
I am sure this is going to improve more and it’s going to be one of the best ios updates till date. Fear not while updating to beta 27 it rocks the iPhone 13.
If the beta is so damn rocking in the second stage can’t wait for the original update. Guys upgrade is all I can say.

iPhone 13 LTE connects but mobile data barely works after iOS 26.5. Tried almost everything.

Hi everyone,

I'm hoping someone has seen this before because I'm running out of ideas.

Device: iPhone 13 MLDV3CH/A
iOS: 26.5 (issue started after updating)

Symptoms

  • Cellular signal is normal (5G/4G/LTE shows).
  • Calls and SMS work perfectly.
  • Mobile data barely works.
  • Safari usually says it can't connect or only loads after several retries.
  • WhatsApp works sometimes but is extremely slow.
  • Ookla Speedtest usually can't even connect to a server.
  • App Store can't download apps over cellular.
  • Toggling Airplane Mode temporarily brings mobile data back, but only for a short time before it stops working again.
  • Wi-Fi works perfectly.

What I've already tried

  • Restarted the phone countless times.
  • Toggled Airplane Mode.
  • Reset Network Settings.
  • Reset All Settings.
  • Checked APN settings.
  • Installed the latest carrier settings.
  • Disabled VPN/Private Relay.
  • Updated to the latest available iOS (26.5).
  • Tested with Dialog, Airtel, and Mobitel SIM cards.
  • All three have the same issue.

Field Test

Dialog:

  • Band 41
  • RSRP: -108 dBm
  • RSRQ: -11 dB
  • SINR: ~9 dB

Airtel:

  • Band 3
  • RSRP: -100 dBm
  • RSRQ: -10 dB
  • SINR: ~10 dB

The strange part

I completely erased the iPhone and set it up fresh. After that, mobile data actually worked again (although it was still slower than expected).

Then I restored my iTunes backup, and the problem came back immediately. After restoring the backup, mobile data is basically unusable again.

At this point I'm trying to figure out whether this is:

  • an iOS 26.5 bug,
  • something corrupted in my backup,
  • or a hardware issue that just happens to show up now.

Has anyone experienced something similar or found a fix? Any ideas would be appreciated because I'm completely out of things to try.

Holding this og 13 for now till it lasts

Hi all, few weeks back i was planning to upgrade my 13 to a new 17 or 17P but now after all the chaos of price hikes and people blind buying the 17 series! I just don’t feel like buying one. Although my screen iw shattered and there is a green dot in the middle of the screen as well but i believe i can still manage with this phone! I’m not doing content creation or something so it’ll be fine for me. I’ll definitely try to get the screen repaired asap.

White screen of Death all of a sudden

I have been using iphone 13 pro max for more than 4 years now , absolutely no issues faced, but suddenly while using youtube saw some very bright flashes and it turned white . Tried a lot of things available on the internet to switch on the phone nothing worked and it was getting extremely hot , so hot that i had to keep it in the Fridge for sometime, Miraculously it turned on after sometime and everything was normal . Charged it but while updating the software it turned white again .
the frustrating part is the service center guys are asking for 33k for screen replacement , that's too much for a 5 year old phone . What to do any suggestion would be welcome .

iOS 27 beta dev 2 saved my iPhone 13

I just wanted to say that if anyone is hesitating to install iOS 27 on their main iPhone 13, GO FOR IT !

My iPhone 13 with 77% battery health is now much smoother than it was on iOS 26.

My phone was so slow on iOS 26 that I had to enable Reduce Transparency and Reduce Motion just to make it feel smooth.

So I really, really recommend updating. Just make sure you’ve made a backup before in case something goes wrong—it’s still a beta, after all.

Iphone 13 pro max infinite bootloop

Hi everyone,

I need some help with my issue. It started when my phone’s battery got drained, then it went into an infinite boot loop. I tried doing a hard restart but it was still the same. Then I tried using Apple devices to auto-update the software and restore factory settings, but it got stuck on the loading screen and showed an error on the Apple device. Any advice would be appreciated, thank you.

Thank you and good bye, my dearest iphone 13

This is my Iphone 13, my very first Iphone. I have been using it since December 5th 2021. Battery replaced, rough edges and scratches since I had a traffic accident. It has served me well, carried my 4 years of college and a year of my first job, survived a bike crash. It has fulfilled its duty and retirement is necessary, because I have upgraded to 17 Pro. Thanks for your contributing 13, you served me well and you may rest now.
How about you? Can you share your stories about your phones?

Should I update to iOS 27? iPhone 13

So recently I updated my iPhone 13 from iOS 18.7.8 to iOS 26.5 and had a different story with the new update like: worse battery, performance, lag etc.
And since the iOS 27 came out and everyone says that its good and better than iOS 26, im wondering for real like should I update? Will it be better ? Idk
Someone with experience with the iOS 27 tell me if I should update

New iPhone 13 but service is mysteriously not working?

Hi all! I was told today that my not even 6 month old iPhone may need repairs by a Straighttalk rep. My messages won’t send without Wifi yet my calls go through perfectly and don’t randomly drop. About a week ago my data started barely working; I open up apps that use data and they load up but barely. My service is about up so the data could potentially be related to that.

I went through the process of deleting caches and unused apps, updating software, taking sim card out and putting it back in, restarting, and going on airplane mode. I have unlimited minutes and the customer service rep ran all the diagnostics but ultimately contacted Apple who came to the conclusion of corrupt software or hardware issues.

I had a 2020 SE up until this one and put that thing through the ringer. I never had anything go wrong like this and I have a feeling Apple jumped on that broken phone train a bit too fast.

Any thoughts or prior experience with this would be much appreciated!

anyone else's 13 suddenly way slower?

my mom's regular 13 at 85% BH is way slower now. like on the level of ios 26.0 on an iphone 11. i have a 13 pro and it's not nearly as bad, although the battery health is 100% (idk if that's true or not tho cuz this is refurbished). apparently some people on tiktok have this issue too.

should i update from 16.0.3 to 18

my phone has been on 16.0.3 since i first bought it years ago and i just haven't updated it since then ... but i'm finally at the point now where a lot of apps just aren't usable anymore (banking apps, etc.) and i'm considering updating to ios 18.

i'm not really looking into jailbreaking my phone or anything so there's really no reason for me NOT to update,, but i've been reading so much about performance and battery downgrading & i really like my phone the way it is...

is it even worth updating? should i just get a newer phone?

My first iPhone As a Long time Android user

This looks so premium 🥹. It captures so beautiful photos. It is filled with security. But as a android user it's refresh rate bother. I have never used 60 Hz in smart phone. It is small and cute 🤭❤️
