Should i get the iphone 13 or 14? (One year)

I know it sounds weird in 2026. But i'll need one of them for a year and then sell it for something like a 17 next year.

Main concern- IOS 27 performance and resale value

My iphone13 is on its last legs. I'm backing it up to iCloud before it potentially never turns on again. But each few hours I look at my phone, the back up time increases?

Last night I went to backup my phone to my icloud. It said 7 hours. This afternoon it's saying "10 hours remaining". Any suggestions in what I can do?

iPhone 13 Pro Max storage Problems

I have an IPhone 13 Pro Max that I have had since they were released. It is only 128GB. Over the last 6-8 months I have been deleting apps and moving pictures to the cloud trying to keep every bit of storage I could. Basically anytime I wanted to download a new app I had to delete an old one. This got to be so frustrating. I finally just asked ChatGPT what the problem could be. It pointed me towards the 88gb of System OS data on the phone. The fix was pretty simple as well. Just plugged the phone into my laptop and install the update and go from there. Pretty simple. I didn’t expect much but by the time I got done my phone had 71GB of free storage! I’m ecstatic. It feels like I can easily get another year or so out of this phone.

Should I update my 13 from IOS 18 to IOS 26?

So I stupidly did no research and bought an Apple Watch, as I’m moving soon and it was in my interest to get one. Due to my ignorance, I only just found out you need IOS 26 or later for the SE 3 which is what I bought. I’m honestly considering returning it because my 13 has been the best phone I’ve ever had, and I don’t want to drop 1k+ on a new phone if something happens. If it helps with input at all, my battery life is 77%.

I upgraded to the iPhone 17PM in march, today I rebooted my 13P and it feels like home

Hello everyone,

Last march, I upgraded my iPhone 13 Pro to an iPhone 17 Pro Max. I got the Max version because I wanted a bigger screen. First month I was really happy with it. But since the second month, I just hate the bigger screen. It's bulky, you can't reach anything on the screen with one hand, it's heavy and it falls from my car magsafe holder.

I decided today to open my drawer where I leave my old tech, and charged my old iPhone 13 Pro, and man does it feel nice. The size is much better and overall the phone still works fine ! I was shocked that there isn't much difference from the 17PM. Apart from USBC and dynamic island, for my use it's not that different.

I'm now hesitant to sell the 17PM and rock my old 13P, change the battery, and keep it for as long as there's security updates.

What do you think ?

The ios experience from ios 15 to 26 to 27.

I bought the iPhone 13 in 2022. It was my first iPhone and was expecting seamless software. It delivered on it with ios 15 and stayed on it till 2026. It was a very smooth experience. I liked the glass thing of ios 26 and the ui was getting a little stale, so updated it. It was really a bad experience.

Never expected it from Apple. Maybe because of the LLM code generation the devs in Apple used. The animation were laggy and the phone heated up for no reason a couple of times. Yesterday I was outside my home and the phone started heating up like crazy and the started thermal throttling. Huge lags in everything and could not even pay with UPI(digital payment).

I and most of the people dont generally carry cash since the introduction of UPI in India. It was very hot outside and asking so many people for a change ( I had one big note) was infuriating. Once I arrived home ,instantly updated to ios 27 beta without any backup. I didn’t care at that point. The ios 27 experience is the OG experience of the good old apple days. Its very stable so far. No lag no overheating so far. Maybe this happened coz the new ceo is an engineering guy and not a business guy. I hope it continues to be like this. If aint Im switching to Pixel.

is it worth to trade in an iPhone 13 to apple right now for credit?

I have an iPhone 13 that has been taken care of very well, it was purchased when it was the oldest iPhone for sale at apple, still has 100%bh, is it worth trading it in now to apple for $205 for the money to sit until needed in the far future?

Advice on what I should do about my iPhone 13

So, a few weeks ago my beloved iPhone 13 has decided to do an Irish goodbye lol. I got my first ever iPhone 13 in 2022 as a gift and it has been with me for 4 long years. And I lowkey still have an emotional connection to it (it gave me no problems all this time). All of a sudden, the phone would restart as soon as it got low for like a couple of days until it just completely stopped working one day. I also noticed that the screen was lifting up a bit and realized that the battery has actually been swollen. It’s obviously way past due for a battery replacement. I’ve went to the Apple store just to see how much it would cost to fix it and they quoted me $350 to replace the entire rear of it. I don’t wanna spend so much money to fix and I would still need a new phone soon but an entirely new phone is a little out of my budget as well. Thankfully I backed up everything in my phone before it stopped working, but Im not entirely sure if it got everything. So just some advice on if I should just get it fixed and use it until I can save more for a newer phone, or just upgrade to a new one like a iPhone 17 Pro (even to a iPhone 15 or 16, even though they wouldn’t be new). Im still in mourning btw 😔

I go to general, about and delete the iOS up that is around 700mb. I go back to storage and see that I now have +10gb storage opened back up. Growing more and more sick of Apple!!

Green Line After Charging System Repair

So I’ve recently went to repair my 13 Pro because the charger wasnt working whatsoever and it happened to be a charging system issue requiring that I replace the entire thing with a new one which I did with a 3rd party repair shop. Phone started charging again and everything was working until last night when I wiped my phone like I usually do, just for the lightest touch to make a green line appear on the left side of the phone.

I haven’t even had this phone for up to a year and Ive already spent so much on it its so freaking annoying cus I could take it back to the repair shop and they would still charge me for this issue.

What should I do? Im genuinely at a loss, I’ve spent $658 so far on this phone in less than a year.

Forgot Passcode, Need some help

First time iPhone user!!! I have iPhone 13 pro max and forgot passcode completely.

Things to note -

  1. I cannot see forgot passcode option

  2. Phone is now unavailable for 8 hours.

I tried installing new OS to reset the iPhone, but it stopped in between.

So my question is - Can I download ios 26 first and somehow install it in my iPhone using finder? Or it is necessarily to let it download when the pop up for restore and update comes?

How is iOS 26.6 update on iPhone 13 for y'all?

For a long time, I thought of updating my iPhone 13 after a battery replacement, but just for experiencing a little boost in overall performance, I have recently updated my iPhone to iOS26.6 from iOS 18.7.

For the past week, apps do open quite faster than prev version, performance on games has been improved, new home and lock screen customisation are great and UI is fluid, i like some of new subtle animations here and there, Photos apps is finally organised properly.

Issues i noticed are;

  1. Battery drains faster than before.
  2. Multiple apps don't cache itself in the background for multi-tasking and fast re-opening. It can handle 3 apps (max). I guess for a 3.5GB RAM iPhone, this is the best it can do.
  3. Wifi signal has some issues, often fluctuating.
  4. Apple Music app drains the battery fast than before even on off-screen.
  5. SOT on iOS18.7 has been over 7 hours(avg) on a single charge, but after the update SOT has reduced to 6h 30mins(avg).

>Keep in mind, I'm not a power user. I mostly use light weight apps and few heavy apps like brawl stars and wuthering waves.

Battery health is 82%.
