Random OLED panel failure on IPhone 15PM
As you can see in the photo, I’ve developed the purple line to death on my screen despite them being no damage to the screen, it was not dropped, cracked or exposed to water. It’s a clear random hardware failure that occurred, I’ve had the phone since launch day basically and replace the battery back in December after it exceeded 1000 cycles and started to throttle the GPU significantly, limiting refresh rate etc even though in battery health it said it was still at 87% and performing fine- it wasn’t, and Apple tried to talk me into just upgrading, but luckily I didn’t trust them and spent $100 to pop a new battery in it and got the phone working like new. But now unfortunately this has happened, and I believe a new screen replacement from Apple is ~$400 USD. I don’t have AppleCare+, and obviously it is now out of warranty however I believe since it was not user error and a clear hardware failure that Apple should replace this for free on a Goodwill basis. I’ve had luck with them doing that in the past with a MacBook a few years back but it took hours on the phone and escalating it to multiple supervisors before they agreed to basically make a one time exception and replace the device. I’m wondering if anyone has had a similar experience and was able to get Apple to cover their repairs, considering I did nothing to damage the phone and this just happened randomly and to me it is a clear indicator of OLED panel failure. It’s clearly hardware related I’ve tried everything from restarts to resets and the issue persists. I’ve called some shops that quote only $149 but that’s for a non-genuine Apple display which I do not want, either an a cheap LCD or an aftermarket cheap OLED that is not up to standards and may cause issues down the line. I’m just not sure what to do here, I love the 15 Pro Max the design and it still works great in 2026 and I do not want to upgrade to the 17 Pro Max which is, imo, unsightly and I don’t wanna spend all that money when I have a perfectly working phone that I prefer. Also the 18 is coming out in just a few months so part of me doesn’t want to upgrade until then if I had to but the purple line of death is bothering me severely every time I look at it, it agitates my OCD and I’ve heard the issue can worsen with time. So I’m not sure what the right course of action is here, ideally Apple will recognize that it was not user error and do a Goodwill repair for free but spending almost $400 to repair the display on a device that’s approaching the three-year-old mark is also hard to swallow. Any advice? Anyone had something similar like this happen and was able to get Apple to do the right thing???
Some advices
Hi there!
I have a few questions about the iPhone 15 Pro Max regarding everyday use, battery life, and a little bit of gaming. I'm not a hardcore gamer, but I do enjoy playing games occasionally, so I'd love to hear from anyone who has actually played games on this phone.
Have you experienced any issues with it, especially things like overheating, battery life, performance, or any other problems after using it for a long time? Do you still recommend the iPhone 15 Pro Max today, or would you suggest a different iPhone instead?
I'm not planning to buy the phone right now—I probably won't purchase it until 2027—but I want to make my decision early and gather as many real user experiences as possible.
Thank you in advance for your advice and experiences!
Call recording feature for iPhone 15 Pro Max
I recently shifted from Galaxy Fold to iPhone 15 Pro Max. One thing I miss is the call recording feature.
I understand iPhone is heavy on privacy and security, and it doesn't allow third-party apps or does not have native call recording apps.
I am looking for apps which can allow seamless recording without notifying the other party and does not go through the hoops of merging calls.
The call recording feature has saved me a lot of times through difficult situations when I was using the Android.
I am looking for a seamless call recording app which can help me record calls on the iPhone 15 Pro Max.
I appreciate your assistance and suggestions.
15PM Battery (Update from my last post)
So recently, I am feeling that my iPhone‘s battery health is getting better. I’m still conserving the 84% and the life of the battery during the day is too good. I am using a strategy where I just plugged my iPhone to give it a bit of charge either using a power bank or the car adapter or the Apple adapter at home. I usually keep it between the 50 and the 80 I am having my charge limit on 95%. There is a bit of heat which is common in this 15 Pro Max series. I updated my software to the iOS 27 beta version I was running the better version of 26.6 iOS and I am recently feeling a bit of upgrade in the health.
ios 27 beta
who tried it any feedback should i go for it??
Downgraded from Galaxy Fold to iPhone 15 Pro Max
Hello folks,
I recently bought an iPhone 15 Pro Max.
I was using the Galaxy Fold device and I loved it very much.
Having a very difficult time adapting to the IPhone.
Especially because of the screen size and keypad size.
Is there a way to increase the size of the keyboard in iPhone 15 Pro Max?
So that the keypad is able to occupy a little more screen space?
Thanks for your inputs and suggestions.

Iphone 15 pro max help?
So my wife busted her iphone 15 pro max yesterday on the back and took it to get fixed. The guy said he had to special order the back glass and it would be in today. She took it in and dropped it off. Came back and the phone was turning off like every two minutes. The guy told her that it was bc of the aftermarket back glass not being compatible and that she needed to order the apple OEM glass and would give her a "deal" for $50 to order and fix it. I'm not tech savvy but Google says that's wrong and he could've messed something up. This is the panic logs. I'm not sure what they mean tbh. Any help would be appreciated.
Feeling like a brand-new phone after changing the battery
Even with 5G internet, extended use will reduce the phone's heat.
# Notes: I paid $40 for a third-party battery replacement. But acceptable.
iOS 26.5.2 Update
My iPhone 15 Pro Max received the iOS 26.5.2 update, which was 11 GB in size. I’ve noticed some changes in the app icons, such as the calculator and a few others. Has anyone else noticed the same?
Random purple line on left side of screen?
For context, I developed a small very small crack in my screen protector a couple days ago and then randomly today this purple line appears on the left side of the screen which stays even for 20 seconds after powering down the phone completely and then reappears immediately upon reboot. It’s on the very very edge of the screen it’s almost not noticeable from certain angles but very much still present.
Touch screen edge issues (15 Pro Max)
My 15 Pro Max only registers edge touches when im in direct skin to titanium(the phone's outer edge)contact with the phone. App switcher, control/notification centers are being affected by this. Whats the issue?
Heres a pic of the test I ran on a painting app. The faster swipes make it further while the regular swipes have a consistent dead zone.
Is it worth updating my iPhone 15 Pro Max from iOS 17.5 to iOS 26.5, or should I wait for iOS 27?
I’ve been on iOS 17.5 ever since it came out because it’s been rock solid for me, so I never really felt the need to update.
Now I’m wondering if it’s finally worth jumping to iOS 26.5, or if I’d be better off just waiting for iOS 27.
If you have a 15 Pro Max on 26.5, how has it been? Is it smooth and reliable, or are there still annoying bugs, drain, overheating, random stutters, or other issues?
I’m mostly looking for feedback from people who’ve been using it for a while, not just first impressions after updating.
Would you update if you were in my position, or just stick with 17.5 until iOS 27? Thanks!
Do you use adaptive consumption?
Well, do you use this option and it lowers many benefits?
Omg my refurbished I15PM
Guys I‘ve got my refurbished IPhone 15 pro max since 2 weeks.
