I tracked how much each beta improved battery life

So I was really bored this summer so I tracked how much battery and screen time I used up on my iPhone 16.

The first image is the minutes of screen time I got per battery percent (with a trend line)

The second image is the average minutes of screen time I got per battery percent throughout the betas

And the last one is just the data I collected in some random google sheet

enjoy :)

Why is this a thing? with the iPhone 16 display,

So why is it when the iPhone 16 screen is turned off the dynamic island appears smaller but when the screen is on it increases in its overall size though it takes up some of the Display it is still really helpful but the main question is why dose it increase in size? when it appears smaller when the Screen is off

mobile service issues with iphone 16 (base)

Hello,

I wanted to share my experience with my iPhone 16 (USA) model. I have this phone since November of 2024 and for around 1.5 years I have not had any problems, but until like 3 months ago, I started having issues with the phone's cellular service connection.

Whenever I am using mobile data, it does not matter if I am in a bigger city, in a smaller city, in the forest or in the open, I tend to lose mobile service connection completely. What I have noticed it happens when an app is constantly using internet/GPS service. I can download something from the app store and the connection would 60% of the time just disappear. I could be driving with the app Waze open and the service would disappear. There are many other instances where my service would just disappear.

This happens even where the mobile service coverage is great.

Things that I have done to try tackling this issue:

- Reseting the network settings
- Completely switching the carrier
- Changing into another eSIM (I only have eSIM because I have a USA model in Europe)
- Updating my iOS version

The thing I am doing in near future is bringing the phone to a board-level specialist that could make a diagnosis on the phone and maybe find out the issue behind all of this. What I know it maybe the antenna or the modem issue.

The reason I made this post is to maybe find someone who also has these issues and maybe even has solutions. Thank you for reading and I hope to get some answers!

FYI - my country has great mobile service coverage and friends around me do not experience these issues as I do.

iPhone 16

I just wanted to shout out the iPhone 16 today . I had a situation where my phone dropped off my closet shelf, and I swear I have a love-hate relationship with this phone. It just seems to slip out of my hand or fall off of random places at random times . But even after the countless times I’ve dropped it, I only have one crack on the back. Honestly, I’m impressed.

Upgraded to iPhone 16 plus

I finally upgraded to the iPhone 16 Plus. This decision was based purely on personal budget, choice and preferences. It has a big screen and better battery life. I should have gone for the iPhone 17, but it's too expensive in my area. Previously, the price was the same as the iPhone 16 Plus, but the price of the iPhone 17 has increased and is now out of my budget. The iPhone 16 Plus meets my current budget and preferences. Do you think the iPhone 16 Plus will still be a good buy in 2026?

Phone suddenly stopped wired charging + Sleep/Wake kernel panic — what could this be?

Hi everyone,

My iPhone 16 suddenly stopped charging through the cable today. When I plug in the cable, absolutely nothing happens — no charging icon, sound, vibration, or increase in battery percentage.Wireless charging still works normally.

I'm attaching a screenshot of the panic log. Any help interpreting it would be appreciated!

What are you’re thoughts on the iPhone 16 Display?

So I’ve heard many people say a lot of things about the iPhone 16 Display and the coding apple used on it now yeah it’s a nice display it’s easy to use pretty wide field of view just an overall pretty nice display but it brings it back to the main question what are you’re thoughts on it?

Just upgraded form iPhone X (yes, the 2017 phone) to a iPhone 16!

iOS 16 (latest version for the iPhone X) is more then usable in 2026, but the better cameras, action button, and wayyyyyy more features on the iPhone 16, this has to be the best phone upgrade I had ever! (Had this for one month now)

iPhone charging stops

Hello!
I have a problem with my iPhone 16.
When I’m charging it I get this message telling me that the charge is on hold and that it’ll resume once iPhone cools down. However the phone is not warm at all. This happens multiple times per day, preventing me from even charging the phone.
Also, when I’m not charging it, it overheats when doing simple tasks such as sending WhatsApp messages or scrolling YouTube, to the point where the refresh rate drops it becomes impossible to use cause the display does not respond well.
I’ve tried everything but nothing has worked so far and apple says there’s nothing wrong in their diagnostic tool. This is already my second iPhone 16, both with the same issue tbh.
What do you recommend?

Iphone 16 or 16e

I'm looking forward to changing my phone. My options are an iphone 16e for 500€ and an iphone 16 for 670€. Is the extra 170€ worth for the 16?

Iphone 16 Pro max (not) charging saga

I have had it for almost 2 years. My first iphone 16 pro max after around a year stopped charging via usb. I could connect the usb, see it was "charging" but the % was going down. I moved to wireless, it worked for maybe 2 weeks then it stopped. I was still able to charge it using rechargable wireless battery and then it stopped. The phone (based in the US) was " repaired" twice within 2 months but each time same problem occured. Cable charging worked maybe for a week then stopped. I tried different cables etc. Again i had no problem with the same setup all before and my husband who has iphone 17 is charging without any issues. It cannot be the setup. I also had the problem in different locations. I tried restarting the phone (read somewhere it could help).

After it broke again, I said there is something wrong with the phone. And Apple sent me "new" phone (looked like not shop unit). And guess what, same problem happened within 2 weeks. I couldnt believe it. There is something wrong with the 16 model. Moving all apps, banking apps etc all the set up again is terrifying. The phone still charges on/off (sometimes doesn't) via wirless. I am not sure what to do. I dont want to get new 16 and have the problem again. I honestly consider just upgrading to 17 but then why do i have apple care for?? And my phone is fully functional otherwise and (supposingly) brand new..

Did anyone had similar problem with iphone 16? it cant be only me??

Help me guys I’m freaking out!!!

So the thing is, I do check my iPhone 16s battery health every day before sleeping and last Saturday it was 97% and Sunday morning it was at 96%.

I was like fine, but again the day before yesterday when i checked it this thing dropped to 96% like bro seriously? There’s something suspicious going ig idk why and what it is.

Later that day on Wednesday it dropped to 95%. I’m done with this shit atp.

And now, it dropped from 95% to 94%. I’m freaking out 😭😭

I don’t know what to do. 3% in 4 days is crazy af like how does this shit even degrade.

I’m currently at 438 cycles and i bought it last october so around 10 months ig yeah.

Note: I use my phone very often like 7-8hrs of screen time max, charge it twice a day with a regular charger.
