Broken zif clip

Broken zif clip

I am working on a classic 6 and when I went to reconnect the ribbon for the aux it went flying. Does anyone have a solution other than buying a whole new motherboard? As of now it plays when the chord is placed certain ways but if you move the positioning it stops

Hoping for someone who has more knowledge and sense than me to help/advise on what to do in my situation as have become stressed to the max at not succeeding yet, please helppp

Context:

I have recently got a i pod classic which i was excited to own but now seems more of a stress. I realised i couldn't upload songs to it any other way then purchasing off the itunes store which i did today- now slightly regretting it.

I don't have a mac to do the transfer of purchased downloaded songs but i am using my windows 7 laptop with i pod plugged in using cable but i don't seem to be having any luck with any transferring as have tried so many ways e.g dragging the songs from account to the i pod listed within my computers files. Have also tried putting the songs onto a pen drive and dragging them again but no luck. I am at my limit as do hope someone can help/advise me on what to do as the amount of money spent on the songs- i know its my own fault, i do hope was worth it for the intended purpose of cancelling my spotify subscripton. I have also came across online services to convert the downloaded purchases into MP3/4 files but i also havent had much luck with that which has been more frustrating

It would mean so very much if someone could please swiftly advise me or help this situation as would hate for all the money spent to go to waste but please please reach out by replying here or emailing me on: Rebeccawebb653@gmail.com, as i would appeciate anyones help that has more sense than i do LOL.

Many thanks: a stressed women just trying to upload her purchased music onto her i pod classic 😄

Best free way to download and sync music to an iPod Classic with album art?

I recently found my old Apple iPod Classic and I want to start using it again for offline music. I already have playlists made on Apple Music that I’d like to download onto the iPod, preferably with everything showing properly — album art, artist names, album names etc

The issue is that when I download MP3s from random websites, a lot of them either have missing metadata or no album artwork at all, so the iPod library looks messy unless I manually edit every song.

What’s the easiest/free method you guys use because I don’t wanna purchase every single song from iTunes

Which one

I’m currently modding two Gen 3 classics. The “warm” one was purchased new - by me (it looks faded in pic but has good detail/contrast) and I still have the box. The blue tint is an auction buy and I’m thinking of swapping screens.

Which screen is your favorite screen?

Cause of Fried Board - 4th Gen Monochrome

Modded a 4th gen monochrome about a year ago with battery and as storage mods. Been running smoothly until the device went completely unresponsive this afternoon. I had left it plugged into the only charger I had at my desk and went to lunch… came back to a blank screen and a slight smoky smell.

Cracked it open this evening to find what I imagine must be the culprit - fried chip and char right behind the battery connector on the logic board. Tested the battery with a multimeter to confirm it’s still good and voltage is appropriate. Feeling kind of lucky that damage wasn’t more extensive based on how strong the burning smell was inside the case upon opening.

I suspect my problem was the charger / cable combination used… Before I go ordering a replacement logic board, can anyone say whether this could be caused by a third-party charging cable plugged into a “smart” usb outlet which wasn’t able to correctly regulate the output voltage down to 5v? Or could this have been a short caused by the exposed metal from the click wheel on the faceplate?

Name of this component?(Nano 3rd gen)

I wanted to see if i can relocate this component on my nano 3G’s motherboard and i cant solder it back to the motherboard. It seems to have had some thin metal pads welded to the actual contacts(which came off during the desoldering process) that made it possible for solder to stick to them. I managed to half solder it back to its place but now the backlight of the screen isn’t turning on(probably because the component doesn’t make full contact with the board). Anyone know anything about the values of this component or its name? Can i buy a replacement or am i forced to get a new motherboard?

Advice for transferring MP3s from windows 11

Looking for advice. Got a 4th gen iPod nano with 64gb on eBay that’s already been formatted to be seen by windows. I have a collection of mp3 files on my pc hard drive (mostly ripped from YouTube the rest from CDs) I Tired using Macdrive 11 but still none of my songs appear on the iPod. I tired a free trial of Waltr pro but that’s not working either and I quickly reached their trial limit. Do I need to reformat my mp3 files somehow? Is it worth paying for the Waltr pro license?

I'm trying to figure out some troubleshooting for my IPod 5th gen. Any help is appreciated!

It was working fine originally, but I opened it up to do a battery swap and replace the faceplate and now it doesn't work anymore. I've tried charging it overnight and restarting it, but it is stuck on the Apple logo and the drive is just clicking every couple of seconds.

It also doesn't show up on my computer when I plug it in, which could mean it's a logic board problem, but It was working fine before, so I don't think that's the issue.

Is there a way I can find how to fix it? Once again, I'd appreciate it if someone with experience could help me out.
