Hi!

I just recently started IWD since i remembered playing it as a kid and having lots of fun with it.

I started a 2 Character Group for the fun of it with a Fighter/Thief Half Elf and a Human Priest of Tyr with the fluff of beeing a loving couple going through the game.

I managed to defeat the Ogre in the caravan quest with alot of trouble. I had to run away halfway the two fights with the big enemy groups and regroup at the city to recover in the Inn nad finish off the rest of the enemies in a second attempt, also i rested alot in the dungeon whenever i got hurt. Now i came back to the easthaven at day 9 :)

Im pretty concerned i wont make it far in the game since i already struggled that hard. I found the most success by having my elf shoot enemies at distance while my priest tries to ensnare them and tank the rest with all her defensive spells…

Should i overthink my approach? Do you guys have any tips on how to build a two characters party? My idea was that my elf becomes a superfighter that can also sneak/pickpocket/open chests and my priest supports him with heals and buffs, but rn i sit in fights and watch them miss shots forever…will it get better later in the game?

My shambling mounds and elementals always get stuck walking in the dungeons lol. I just cheat and teleport them.

I played BG 1-2 and IWD EE, all of the expansions of these game. I am at the edge, to continue with IWD 2 EE , but i just really hate the D&D 3 and 3.5 system, but I can survive that.

Any of you have experience with a fullscale mode for the mentioned games? ( With ad&d 2 system, the one that BG1-2 and IWD 1 have) is there a mod for them that is as good as the original games campaign? Or almost as good as? I need a good campaign, not an overhaul with crazy mods or characters, but a story which I can get immersed in for a few weeks, like the original?

If not really, then I will go with IWD 2...But should I use the EE mod for it? (i guess so its better with that?)

Been using the IWD NPCs mod by Kolyok and after work, I loaded up the game and noticed their names have changed and conversations are giving invalid messages. Tried reinstalling, uninstalling and then installing again but no luck. Never changed the language or anything like that.

The bard is now "Destiny is Elusive" for example.
