Hi current iiitdm students, i have a few queries about the campus life and general experiences living in the hostels. this is in reference to BTECH course.
I feel like its very unfair that we get only one chance to pass a course and if you dont its immediately considered a backlog. Theres a lot of nits and iits that give students atleast 1 more chance the same sem during the vacations and only if they fail that is it considered a backlog. Dont you think something should change about the current system?
I am someone that got 97%ile in Jee. I have been allotted Smart Manufacturing here at IIITDMK. Other options that I do have are LNMIIT Jaipur CSE with minor in robotics and Nirma Ahmedabad ECE. Also currently hopeful of BITS Hyderabad Civil. Is it worth it?
*Planning to pursue MBA later
So I got 20k(male ews)rank in JEE mains, in Josaa as of now by second round I am getting iiit Kanchipuram CSE. In csab I'm also getting we NIT Nagpur EEE and NIT Warangal mechanical.
I don't know what branch or what college I am taking but I am having this thought that maybe having a greater college tag by the time I graduate that is 2030 would help me a lot as ai would take over the coding things and will be there only two orchestra a lot of the work
Should I consider NIT Warangal mechanical or VNIT Nagpur eee over this to iiit Kanchipuram CS
Please share your thoughts for your struggling junior so that he can be she can join the best college he can
Open to questions as well!
Hi everyone,
I'm considering taking admission to the following M.Tech programs at IIITDM Kancheepuram:
I'm specifically looking for honest feedback from current students, alumni, or anyone who has firsthand knowledge of these programs.
My main concern is placements. I couldn't find branch-specific placement statistics, so I'd appreciate any insights on questions like:
I'd really appreciate genuine experiences.
Thanks in advance!
How is dual degree cse like how different is it from just btech cse, will i get the same placement as btech in cse or will I get less
Like where can I get the placement report for dual degree cse
IIITDM KANCHEEPURAM SMART MANUFACTURING OR CIT CHENNAI ECE
Hi everyone! I recently got allotted Smart Manufacturing at IIITDM Kancheepuram through JoSAA. I'm seriously considering joining, but I have a few doubts. I'd really appreciate honest answers from current students or alumni.
How is the Smart Manufacturing branch overall?
What is the future scope of this branch in India
What kind of roles do graduates usually get (core, software, analytics, automation, robotics, etc.)?
What companies visit for placements specifically for Smart Manufacturing students?
What are the average, median, and highest packages for this branch?
What is the placement percentage for Smart Manufacturing?
Are students allowed to sit for software placements?
If yes, what percentage of students usually get software roles?
How easy or difficult is it to get a core job compared to ECE/Mechanical?
When do internships usually start (2nd year or 3rd year)?
Are internships mostly on-campus or off-campus?
Are internships generally paid or unpaid? What is the typical stipend range?
How difficult is the branch academically?
Is the workload manageable alongside coding and competitive exam preparation?
Are there enough labs, projects, and hands-on learning opportunities?
Is there any branch change option after the first year? If yes, how difficult is it?
How active are the coding culture, technical clubs, hackathons, and robotics clubs?
Do students usually pursue higher studies (MS/MTech) or placements after graduation?
Looking back, would you choose Smart Manufacturing at IIITDM Kancheepuram again? Why or why not?
I'd really appreciate honest opinions—the positives as well as the negatives. Thanks in advance!
There are lot of linkedin posts regarding oracle revoking offers in IITS & NITs. This year a good chunk (around 10) people got placed at oracle, anybody from placement cell have any idea about the number of people who successfully joined oracle after intern or directly FTE? did oracle revoke any of the offers for 26 batch?
Hey folks, pretty excited to come to IIITDM kanch.
There is not enough information about hostels and allotments, was wondering does Mdes students get rooms for single accommodation in first year or do we have to share them?
as far i compared curriculum many source say vit is better for 2030 also idk whether i will go for highers or not and ofcourse iiit has the govt tag and quality peer group and some seniors told there is no coding culture in iiitdmk thats what makes this confusion
Hi everyone,
I just completed my first year of engineering and maintained a decent CGPA. My goal is to get an internship in my second year. I don't care too much about the company initially—I mainly want industry experience and to learn.
One thing I've noticed is that many of my friends are building projects using AI tools like ChatGPT and Cursor. A lot of the work seems to be copy-pasting code and making small changes.
This made me wonder:
Do recruiters actually care if a project was built with AI assistance, or do they mainly care that you understand and can explain it?
When interviewing interns, how do companies distinguish between someone who genuinely understands their project and someone who mostly relied on AI?
What kinds of projects would you recommend for a second-year CS student that genuinely improve skills and stand out on a resume?
I am really confused between nit calicut mechanical, nit calicut chemical and iiitdm kancheepuram ece. Pls someone help me out.
