I want to pursue either of the two bio courses:- Biotechnology or Microbiology. Now I know the basic differences between the two subjects. But I want to get a deeper level of insight into these two courses especially in terms of research, higher studies, job opportunities, and placement scope... Which is better for someone who wants industry opportunities and which is better for person interested in advanced research?
Please help me figure this out! I really need clarity.
ik i should be studying but for motivational purposes
i am considering joining IISER Pune for the BS/MS dual program, but I was told that while you can select minor arts subjects, music is not an available option. i was wondering if there were maybe some clubs or something that could integrate music or just allow me to pursue it for fun alongside?
I've seen a few posts on quora, where people mentioned super chill hostels in general with no curfews etc. Does this apply to girls hostels too? And is this common in all IISERs hostels?
Can we consider doing abroad for Masters or PHD, also please suggest some good universities and countries for the same considering if I do not have to spend more money like getting scholarship or fee waiver. If I complete my bachelor's in India in not top institutes but like normal instituted like nit raipur material science or may be some state govt college or gfti. I am not sure about iisers like I would definitely like to consider but there's not much placement support there like for example if my mind change for something different like mba or pvt companies then I can have more options. Please give me some advice or throw some light🌸
What are the career options open to you after a BS-MS degree with, possibly a PhD? And is it also dependant on the subjects you had in your 12th board?
How hard are the repeat exams at IISER P? I failed a course this sem and will have to give it....is it easier than the mid sem and end sem of the same course or do they make it as hard or harder? How much does one need to score in it to pass the exam?
Also if one still gets an F after repeat exams and retakes the course how does it show in ones' transcript
I am opting for these three institutions to continue my Masters degree in Mathematics. Im particularly keen to applied math. After completion i want to pursue PhD and step into academia as my career. But if things go south, i would have to provide for my family as soon as i graduate, so i have to keep in mind about job placement as well.
I also have to think about the course fee, hostel/mess fees. I think IISERB has the lowest semester fees compared to the other two. Also, i heard the hostels at IITD is not that good.
Which institution should I choose which is good at both research and have good job placement in industries? Any suggestions?
GUYSSSS help me, what are the differences in small things? The major is iiser is more rigorous and Ashoka is comparatively less but also IISER mainly for sciences whereas Ashoka is mainly for liberal arts. Please seniors help me out. I love to do a lot of things dance music etc. I also love studying when it is fun not just ratta-fication. I am deeply interested in Bio , chem and Psych.
Well I searched some stuff up on Google and saw that some iisers have a little bit of ragging so I just want to know which iiser is the safest for girls. Is ragging still prevalent in iisers? Which iiser has the least ragging?
And which of them have the best environment overall considering safety, senior-junior relationship, and also friendship among peers?
Any IISER kolkata seniors please tell about the bs ms course in computation and data science course.
What are the future prospects.?
Is it industry oriented?
Compared to isi/cmi is it worth taking?
Recently saw some sort of professors rating/reviews thing in iisc sub. Thoughts? Feasibility of making something like this?
Both have a similar course structure, both located in the city. What reasons would a student have to choose one over the other? I would really appreciate a pros and cons list (especially faculty, interdisciplinary and humanities subjects like eng lit, and phd opportunities for different subjects. Also hostel+food). I love that you study every subject for two years cause I cannot settle on one until I get some exposure.
If someone has knowledge please explain this to me so I can talk about it with these GenZ/Gen alpha kids. I trust reddit >>> AI and Google, so please enlighten me.
My iiserpune students account stopped working few months ago, however it didn't seamlessly transfer to alumni email account. Neither the login works in the alumni account nor do the IT staff responds to the email.
I am looking forward to any suggestions
What was your motivation to prepare for this institute?
When did you decide that this is the path you want to go down on?
