First Ikea Station
Here’s my first Ikea setup! Unfortunately the LEDs didn’t go as planned so need to work on that. But in person they definitely look better.
Any suggestions on what to do next or what I can do better, please let me know.
Want to buy this desk, is this the best? I saw Secretlab, but they have metal top, and don’t like the feeling on my skin. I only want 140cm/60cm, some are 80, its too big. I only need a drawer, can I mount it under the desk?
Opinions on 74" karlby his and hers desk
Already have a 74" karlby that I've been using for years. Girlfriend is moving in with me, and bedroom space will be too tight for a second desk for her, and don't have enough space for the bigger 96" version.
Currently have 2 Alex drawers on each side of desk. I was thinking of reducing down to 1 Alex drawer in the middle of the desk, and add legs to both sides. This maximizes leg room for both of us, even with only 37" of desk real estate each.
My PC would move to the floor under my side of the desk (RIP previously mentioned leg room) , and my 32" monitor + 16" vertical monitor will likely feel a little crowded. Both monitors are mounted so my desk real estate would be... manageable...for my speakers and mouse & keyboard.
The upside is that her side of the desk would only be for makeup/occasional laptop use. No peripherals, etc. I might even be able to steal a little bit of her desk's "air space" with my second monitor...
Thoughts, comments, concerns?
Or should I just bite bullet, let her have her own makeup desk in the bedroom, while I move my setup into the living room?
Adils leg too short for alex drawers?
i have more then one Question:
is the alex drawer 70cm with or without the mini legs coming with it?
is the adils leg 70cm with or without the thin metal plate where the leg goes in? and with or without the adjustable leg you can take out?
cuz i tried some combinations but the adils leg is everytime either too short or too long
Never had a desk this big
Still working on decorating and cable management but I’m pretty happy with this
No other desk ever matched the Jerker
They never built anything like that.
Is a reinforcement bar necessary for an Ekbacken + Alex desk if the monitors are wall-mounted?
I’m planning a new desk setup using an Ekbacken countertop supported by two Alex drawers.
To keep the surface clear, I’m wall mounting my dual monitor arm, so there won’t be any monitor weight on the desk itself. I also plan to install a single Olov/Adils leg in the back-center for extra support.
My question is: Do I still need to install a metal reinforcement bar (stiffener) underneath to prevent sagging over time? I’m mostly worried about the weight of leaning on the desk.
Best 120x60 Lagkapten Monitor Setup?
I currently use a laptop but will be building a PC soon. I don't usually see this particular Lagkapten/Alex setup with the table legs on this sub, so I was wondering if the Lagkapten could support a 24 or 27in monitor combined with a monitor stand/riser, with potentially metal reinforcement plates underneath. The monitor would potentially sit more to the left near the Alex drawers, with the laptop on the right side of the table for better weight spreading. I plan to store the PC itself on a separate stand.
The other options are to use a monitor arm fastened right next to the Alex drawers with metal reinforcement plates (extremely iffy, considering the Lagkapten's weak durability and material) or wall mounting (more permanent solution but my desk won't break..)
Note: I don't have space for a bigger desk and I'm not sure I'll have the budget to get a custom wood tabletop until later in the year. I'm open to any potential budget options though!
Anyone used wall mounted dual arm?
Hi,
Curious to see if anyone’s used a wall mounted dual monitor arm before, everyone seems to use the clamp ons. The reason I’m trying not to use them is my flood are little bit crap and when moving around in the office the desk will shake and will also shake the monitors. So trying to minimise that.
Best IKEA desk for two monitor arms? Seems like a lot of these desks won't allow for monitor arms
Desks that look like it'd be hard to attach a monitor arm: UTMANING, MITTZON
Maybe the IDÅSEN would be best for monitor arm mounting?
My office is rarely this tidy so grabbed the opportunity while i could.
EKBACKEN countertop with TROTTEN underframe
Hello, I just upgrade my Utespelare desk for this build countertop EKBACKEN 186×63.5cm with TROTTEN legs 140×68cm, you can see the underframe have like 3cm out.
It will be on the back and use it for cable management,
I just screw the desk with standard screw and its
perfect no issues, everything look good.
will share another post when moving all my stuff on it tomorrow.
