These shots show different angles and orientations of my latest sessions with Horimitsu. The Koi shading and some additional linework and background shading closing out the forearm and moving up the arm have been completed since my last post. Currently we are around 20 hours into this project. I will showcase more pictures at the end of next week where my first trip to Japan will be over and there will be roughly 30 hours worth of chair time completed. I will try to wait until everything has healed!

I wrapped up my sleeve with some beads, because of the knuckle on the wrist we decided to mix the skulls with pearls because the artist didnt know how a skull would age on the knuckle. I liked the idea but now it feels a bit off, do i overthink i to much or was it a miss ?

Finished sleeves + hikae over 10 month period. Took 11 sessions in total (5-7 hours per session).

Out of the shower and into reddit. Second session results for the few people waiting to see my journey in the first japanese story.

Had this done over a week ago, and I’m already planning on ideas what to get for my upper leg. Basically, I’d like to have my whole leg covered. I put a little bit thoughts into this as Hannya does represent me as some point in my life, and the geisha, I’d like to think that it’s myself that I show to the world. lol.
The daruma, well, I like it and I also went to Japan and made a wish, but this one hasn’t come true yet, so I guess when it comes true I could get the other eye filled.

But now, I’m not sure what to fill it up with. I know I could do more research, but I kinda want to start here and hear people’s opinion, and then I could do more researching and thinking.

After roughly 40 hours on the table with Thomas here is the final product (4 months healed). Couldn’t be happier with the end result

Thinking about doing an American trad patchwork sleeve on my other leg but not sure how well it’d mesh.

Full send for my first piece. This took about 25 hours in total. I'm planning on using the same artist for the other arm soon as well. This was done in Durham, NC at Welcome Tattoo by Kohen Meyers.
