I've (kindof) figured out what I like.... suggestions?

I now have probably 40 bottles of whiskey in my bar... almost all are good and enjoyable to drink. I'm not one who can pick out and describe "notes" of whiskey, I very simply just kindof like them at different levels. I know that's not helpful. However, the two that really stand out out to me...every time I pour a glass I'm re-surprised at how much I like it.... are Aberlour A'bundadh (Batch 79 which I've read from others is a disappointing batch) and Red Breast 12 CS. Both are very flavorful (in a good way) with some hints of sweetness that swirl around in them...and they're heavy/oily in mouthfeel. I can't really explain it any better....but I want to find more of those types of drinks. I'm going to look for other batches of A'bunadh (but don't know if it's really possible to find older batches - I'm pretty limited to what the PA controlled liquor store brings in and I'd assume those will always come in newest available batch?). I figure if I love the batch 79 and it's a bad one, my mind will blow if I find a better one. Any recommendations that meet my poor description of what I like?

Cool idea

Don't bother asking the pub, I'm a gatekeeper.

Jokes, Arthur's Pub on Thomas Street has a rotational shelf where they sell a fancier bottle for cost price. Cool concept, good for trying stuff

Unique Tasting Whiskey for Novice

I am a whiskey enjoyer but not a connoisseur by any means. I had a whiskey at a wine fair years ago that was absolutely delicious, smooth and complex with no burn. Unfortunately, I was too drunk at the time to remember the name 🤪

Anyone recommend a unique tasting whiskey for under €60?

I don't know much about the blends or anything like that but I definitely don't like those peaty ones.

I'm hearing Redbreast 12, Bushmills 12, Powers The Swallows are all good shouts

Thanks 🙏

Dublin Whiskey Museum

Walking through Dublin and made a stop at the Irish Whiskey Museum, a few I’ve never heard of.

Anything that tastes similar?

I picked this up when I was in Ireland. It is impossible to find in-person in my state (US) or over $200 to ship in a bottle.

Does anyone know of another Irish single malt or even a Scotch that tastes similar?

I haven’t found anything else on the market yet that tastes like the Single Malts that Dingle makes (the best in my opinion).

Irish Whiskey

Single Grain Irish Whiskey is the surprise category. It is such a great whiskey. Generally made with corn/maize, giving it a creamy toffee, vanilla, honey, and fruity quality.

Favourite bottles shown in the pictures above.

Any thoughts? Have you been lucky enough to try any of these or other bottles?

Lady McKenna Single Grain Irish Whiskey is a small release of 330 bottles and is truly amazing 40%ABV and was produced by Globally recognized Master Distiller and Master Blender Noel Sweeney.

Only available in Dublins Iconic James J Fox on Grafton Street
