Just starting, why to models have different loadouts?

Hi guys, 30k newbie joining the legion. As the question states, I have seen units contain multiple weapons and would like to know why, but I can't find any good advice on the internet. E.g. Gorgon terminator squad will have a hammer (because hammer bearer) but then will contain 2 axes, a power fist and then a chain fist. Can I ask why you wouldn't just go for all axes or is there a reason for this. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Got my first game with Iron Hands and love them!

Hi guys!

Last night i got my first game with Iron Hands on TTS against a friend's World Eaters and it was a blast!

I enjoyed it so much i actually decided to paint my MK 3 army as this legion.

Any tips for a new convert to the forges of Medusa?

Specially on how to paint them or any neat tricks for conversions?

Iron Hands Centurian in Gorgon Armour

First painted GrimDark Iron Hands model.

For 40k he counts as an Ancient in Terminator Armour.

For HH he counts as a Centurian in Gorgon Armour.

Not to every ones taste but im happy with him.

Iron Hands Saturnine Terminators

Almost done with the Saturnine boxset!

The pictures I took of the step by step did not come out great, but here's at least a list of paints used for the oil slick armor! The rest is just black and silver!

Basecoat: Pro Acryl Magnesium, Dry Brush Pro Acryl White Gold, then AK Pearl.

Airbrush: Light filter of AK Forest Green Quick Gen, just to tint everything green. AK Quick Gen Demon Purple to build up shadows where you want them. All over thin coat of Vallejo True Metallic Metal Shade Aged Metal. Lastly, thin coat all over of Army Painter Speed Paint Brownish Decay with a little black contrast mixed in.

For the airbrushing steps, other than the shadows of purple, go slow and lean towards using less! It's a lot easier to add another coat if you need, but if everything gets too dark you'll need to start over!

Finish with a satin varnish to get the metallic look back. Use some pluck foam and AK Pearl to add random chipping. I used a black pin wash as well, but probably optional.

More of my W.I.P Gorgon conversions.

As the title says another pic of my work in progress Gorgons.

Ive switched out the storm bolters for some combi bolters. Trimmed off all the Aquilas and Crux Terminatus and lots of other little tweaks based around the feed back i received last time I posted. Still plenty more to go. Onto the GS stage next.

More progress etc will be shared on my insta @inquistor_tuvey

My take on Plastic Gorgons

Ive been working on a unit of 10 plastic Gorgons, thought id share my progess so far.

The storm bolter has now been removed and im waiting for my bits delivery of combi bolters. (SB was only used for posing)

Find lore

Hi guys is there any good places to find iron hand lore and story other than the wiki iv read some where that they repealed the iron warriors from Medusa any pointers be appreciated 👍
