I’m making an appearance of the ignorant god but idk how to make him fit in the universe of iron lung
If the blood came from the quiet rapture, and is made of all the humans who disappeared, but Simon’s mother and Wires Guy are both also in the blood speaking to Simon… what does that mean?
For a bit I thought it meant Simon’s mother made a trip back to Mars shortly before the quiet rapture and got caught up in it, and that’s why she was in the blood.
But then… Wires Guy is there and he definitely died post-rapture.
So do all people return to the blood when they die? Barring blood-related mutations, of course.
If she wasn’t raptured, what happened to Simon’s mother?
I really want to hear other people’s thoughts on this.
Recently got the long sleeve with netting and honestly just didnt like the netting at all so decided to cut it all off aside from the collar itself. Feels a lot better and also won't have to worry about the netting catching on things which I was finding increasingly problematic. Personally preferring it this way, what's everyone else's thoughts ?
Like, I get it’s the climax of the game, but after learning it’s a screenshot it just becomes more funny than anything
how did I never realize this
I'm developing Altitude Zero, a short, claustrophobic retro-horror game where you pilot an old thermal balloon through desolate canyons on a remote moon.
Your goal is to manage your altitude, survive menacing wind and hostile creatures and shut down mysterious drainage stations scattered across the territory.
What do you think?
His hope was the information on the blood. Humanity aren’t going to find take a fight to an ignorant god. They aren’t going to reverse what happened in the Quiet Rapture. The CoI were hoping to find resources to replace the lost food and water and power.
What Simon discovered with the black boxes is that the blood is humanities salvation. It’s a food source. There’s no planets or stars to replace crops and vegetation and animals. There’s no rushing waters or rivers to drink from. But there’s the blood.
Humanity will be dead in a generation without a new source of food. Like Ava kept reminding Simon, it was bigger than both of them. It was worth it. It was hope. Getting the information that the blood is a resource was worth dying for. There’s nutrients in the blood. There’s oxygen in the blood. It’s salvation. It’s a future. And Simon secured it for humanity. He won.
But Ellie knew what that future meant. It meant becoming like her. One of the crew drank the blood and she was the result. Simon got the blood in his eye and started becoming like her. He even saw a future glimpse of what that would look like. So is it truly salvation? Humanity has a food source, but they will mutate into something not even vaguely human. Continued existence and defying existence, at the cost of becoming something monstrous.
It may not be ALL bad, you can hear your loved ones in the Blood, like Simon did with his mother. It’s a way for humanity to reunite with itself.
So I ask you, did Simon truly do the right thing at the end of the story? Was his choice to let the CoI view the black box contents and discover the blood is edible the right one? Is any kind of existence truly better than oblivion regardless of circumstance? Because whilst the CoI may fight against drinking the blood knowing they’ll become like Ellie for a time, but as resources dwindle and food runs out, it’s eventually going to be the only option left. Simon has indirectly handed the CoI a poisoned chalice with the information he recovered. Ava didn’t know what the blood was capable of when she fought hard to release the black box information. Simon did. What happens to humanity now is his fault. His cross to bear.
But hey, he gave the human race a chance to survive when previously they had none. That’s better than nothing……..right?
Before I watched it I kept on seeing fanart of Simon with a mouth full of sharp teeth connected to his actual mouth and also saw fanart of him being connected to a tree but when I finally watched the movie I couldn't make the connections to the fanart. I think it's because I couldn't see it very well or there were more implications rather than you directly seeing it but I'm just extremely confused. Also what was the black box for?? Can someone explain it?
He's losing to Gomez Addams rn! If you have Tumblr vote for him!! (Though if he loses to Gomez it will be valiant)

After rewatching the movie.
I have alot I want to talk about with the movie so I'm just gonna put it all here instead of making multiple posts.
I noticed how the monster is almost completely dismissive of Simon until he seems really desperate for salvation and then tell him the coordinates for the light after he says he'd do anything to save himself.
The monster seems almost sad to have to kill Ava, saying "Ava, im sorry." And blaming Simon entirely, along with insulting him and Ava reacts to the monster as if she can see it, screaming out in horror until her sub is destroyed but we know from the SM-13 there's only one widow and at this depth it's sealed.
Simon's entire character is all about him, everything he does is to save his own skin and that's brought up several times and uses agaisnt him quite alot until the creature pushes him to finally be selfless and save the black box.
At the end you can see the monster breaking its own teeth on the sub as it tries to destroy it, I guess the SM-13 really was the strongest sub they had, along with the monster seemingly exploding? I'm unclear on that.
