Arsenal Parade Guide

Hi everyone,

I’m putting together a local guide for the upcoming Arsenal Parade and CL final weekend.

This will be involving:
Things to do.
Places to visit - eat and drink.
Tips etc

This will primarily focus on the area in and around Finsbury Park and also would preferably highlight our small / independent businesses.

We’re expecting hundreds of thousands to visit the area and thought it would be a good idea to direct them towards some of our favourite places and give them our support too.

Would love to hear everyone’s picks and recommendations

Thanks in advance and see you at the parade 🔴⚪️🎉

Pubs to watch the Champions League final

I'm a Gunner currently living and working in Islington. A few friends (we're a party of six) would love to watch the Champions League final at an Islington pub but we haven't booked anywhere. Is there any hope for us at this late stage? What is our best bet? Open to anywhere in N5/N1/N7 but can cast the net wider if necessary.

Garden centre or supplies

Hi all - I live in Angel and I'm wondering if anyone knows of any garden centres close by, or shops which might have garden supplies. Mainly thinking plant pots

Islington council bulky waste collection

Does anyone have any experience with Islington council bulky waste collection? I have booked a collection for a couple of days time for a large dismantled flat pack wardrobe. The website states they cannot collect items that are broken and not secured together - so will this be an issue?

Characters of Islington

The “wizard” comes up a lot here but are there any others?

I sometimes see a guy in pink on upper street. There used to be a guy wearing a live parrot but I haven’t seen him in years. There is also that guy sitting opposite the council building playing music, I guess in some kind of dispute.

Old Dairy Pub - Finsbury Park

Anyone know what’s happening to this ex Greene King pub in Crouch Hill/Finsbury Park? They closed down last month and now there are these posters stuck on all of the windows from the inside that that say “Church. Jesus is love” in Spanish.

Can hear that "Islington Wizard" guy blasting his terrible music right now. Is there anything to be done to stop him?

It's "noise pollution" as it's SO LOUD and it's also animal abuse as his dog is so close to the speaker. I don't know if this guy is mentally ill or what but I get so annoyed and upset every time I hear him and see the dog.

Compain to Islington Council? I just see him more and more frequently these days and he's just making people uncomfortable.

Gem restaurant upper street

What happened today at Gem Restaurant Upper Street? Pavement taped off by police and many police cars. Restaurant chair has been left in the middle of the pavement - seems as though it’s a crime scene.
