A&P / Med Terminology

Taking A&P 101 and Medical Terminology this fall and trying to figure out professor/class choices. For anyone who's taken these before, what professors did you like/recommend?

ENGL111 Online Advice

I have been looking into going back to school this summer after taking two semesters off. I am working two jobs, I'm working as a Pilates instructor and a server. I already have a bit much on my plate, but it's nothing I can't tolerate. I've gotten used to the workload and I have been saving a lot of money so I don't want to decrease my workload much.

Looking into my academic plan, I found that it's time for me to take an English course. I have been intimidated by English courses because I hear horror stories about how much work they are. Unfortunately I need the credit, so I figured I would try and take ENGL111 online alone this summer.

My question is: is this class really as horrid as everyone claims? And what professors should I try to avoid? What professors should I hope for? Any tips or tricks for surviving? Or should I take a different class entirely?

Ivy Tech Sonography

I’m seeing a lot of posts about medical imaging and respiratory therapy. Did anyone get into the sonography programs? What did your grades/points look like? Bummed after round 2 and I still didn’t get in.

ASN

Currently in the MA program but plan on applying for ASN after graduation.

Has anyone gotten in with a C in APHY101?

My current APHY101 grade is a C, 102 is a B. Am I going to have to retake the course? It won't bother me if so, I know I will do better the second time around. I also know that the program is super competitive and grades are important. But don't want to retake it if I absolutely don't have to. I have a good GPA, if that matters.

Any second round offers?

I haven’t received any offers, feeling really discouraged. I got an 80.7 on the teas but I also have a 4.0 GPA so I thought I would be okay. Applied to med imaging, respiratory therapy, and surgical technology.

Terre Haute Medical Imaging

Any other Terre Haute medical imaging cohorts here?? I got accepted and figured I’d post my scores since there’s barely any info about TH campus and I know next year’s applicants will probably be stressing like I was 😅

Med Imaging Indy

Unfortunately didn’t get an offer for Indy campus😭. I had all A’s on pre reqs and an 85 TEAS score but no cert. Folks that got in, please tell me your TEAS score and if you had the 5 bonus point cert or not.

Asn tuition

Hii
So I just got accepted to the asn program for this fall. I have the 4 pre reqs and 1 general course done, still have a lot of these general courses left to do. I wanted to ask what’s the total cost of attending the program with these general courses. Ivytech website lists the total from somewhere between 10k-12k but if someone has paid out of pocket or knows some info about this. Please let me know. I will really appreciate the help!!

Transition to ASN chances

So I’m going to have my MA , medical assisting certificate by July, and I was hoping to apply to the nursing program, but applying into the program. Are the transition students all in the same pool as the normal program like for applying to the nursing program, if that makes sense.. But yea I was jus wondering if like my chances of getting in would be higher since I’m TRANSITIONING , or the same since we would all be like in the same pool, if anyone could help me out thank you!

Any other Indy Medical Imaging people out there? I'm so excited!!!

I woke up at 5:45 but didn't work up the courage to check it until 7:00. I've been working towards this for a full year and am just so grateful. I've seen a lot of RT posts here but no other medical imaging applicants, anybody else accept theirs yet?

Anyone got radiation therapy offers yet?

I have been losing sleep since the day applications closed and currently throwing up and a nervous wreck. I was expecting to hear something during first round because I figured I won’t be offered anything if not during the first round since they only accept 8 students.

LPN acceptance letters

Hi all. Did all acceptance letters go out already? I applied for the regular ASN program and the LPN program. I took the pre-reqs at another school a long time ago and didn’t do super well, so I didn’t expect to get into the ASN program, but I got an 85.3 on the teas, so felt I had a good chance for LPN. But it’s 6:37am central/7:37am eastern, and no letter. Does that mean I wasn’t accepted this round? Thanks!

Update:

I put in a ticket because the top of my application still said “in review,” so I just wanted to check it wasn’t an issue. I got a reply back confirming it was fine and that I did not get an offer letter this round. This was the message:

“Your program status is "Available for Selection" which is the appropriate status for the opportunity of receiving offers during our selection rounds. You did not receive one during this first offer; however, our selection rounds run through June 2.”
